There were eleven shipping containers full of zombies in total. Now that one was dealt with, ten remained.

Ten left. Ten. A full ten of them.

Perry Yates sighed. ’At this rate, it’ll probably be mid-game by the time I get rid of these ten, and that’s only if no one gets in my way.’

But that was obviously impossible.

As the number of containers dwindled, her future operations would only become more difficult. Perhaps the Space Grass would be affected, and if that happened...

"Whatever. I’ll play it by ear and figure it out when the time comes."

「Day Five of the game.」

Early that morning, the atmosphere on the entire cruise ship had grown palpably strange and tense. Even the number of people on patrol, a common sight on any other day, had increased.

Perry Yates, of course, knew why. An entire shipping container had vanished.

It didn’t matter whether the captain and the crew knew what was inside the containers. Whatever it was, the fact remained that a container had disappeared.

At the same time, the non-Dealer Players on the cruise ship seemed to have guessed that the Dealer Players were responsible. Many of them wore expressions of deep thought or frowning concern.

Perry Yates, meanwhile, blended in with the ordinary crowd, a look of confusion on her face.

She watched the people who were likely non-Dealer Players and cursed inwardly. ’They aren’t going to get ideas about the containers, are they? If they do, then it looks like I’ll have to...’

’I can’t speed things up, so I’ll just have to adapt as I go.’

With that in mind, Perry Yates wandered around outside for a while, acting like a normal tourist. Only then did she return to her room to prepare for the night’s operation.

When night fell, the same thing happened again. An entire container vanished as if swallowed whole right in front of the patrol team, followed by the sound of a heavy object crashing into the sea from behind the ship.

It didn’t take a genius to know that was the sound of the container hitting the water.

After the incident, the patrol team began to investigate the scene. Naturally, they found nothing, because Perry Yates had already cleaned up the area.

Inside the captain’s quarters, a handsome, middle-aged man watched a video on a device in his hand, grilling the second mate who stood before him. "What do you mean you couldn’t find a single clue? What do you mean it just disappeared? Did a monster eat it or something?"

The second mate was a burly man, but he stood before the captain like a schoolboy being scolded for making a mistake.

"Captain, we went to inspect the area the moment the container disappeared, but we really found nothing. It was like the containers just vanished and were teleported out to sea."

The captain had no interest in the second mate’s explanation, continuing to roar with fury. "I don’t care what your reasons are! You have to find the culprit! Do you have any idea how much this shipment is worth? Now that this has happened, we have to give our employer an explanation. Otherwise, we’ll have to bear the loss ourselves! Can you afford that? I’m afraid even if we sold all of you, it wouldn’t be enough to cover the cost of this shipment!"

「Day Six of the game.」

With containers disappearing for two consecutive days, the atmosphere on the ship grew even more solemn. This time, even the ordinary people were affected.

"KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!"

Perry Yates was jolted awake early in the morning by a knock on her door.

She got up, rubbing her bleary eyes, and went to the door. When she opened it, she saw members of the patrol team standing outside, holding a notebook.

After seeing Perry Yates open the door, they first asked her some personal questions and inquired about her movements the previous day.

Perry Yates cooperated fully, since her activities could be verified on the surveillance cameras anyway. Besides, after she had returned, she truly hadn’t left her room.

After answering their questions, she asked with a curious expression, "Did something happen? I remember you mentioned before that some dangerous people had snuck onto the ship. Did someone get hurt?"

Because Perry Yates had been so cooperative—and especially because they had already reviewed the surveillance footage before coming and knew she wasn’t lying—one of them answered her question. "No one was hurt. But to ensure your personal safety, it’s probably best you don’t go out much for the time being. Don’t worry, though, we’ll be responsible for protecting you. You don’t need to be too concerned about that."

Hearing this, Perry Yates nodded obediently. "Okay, I understand. I’ll reduce my trips outside."

If not for the need to avoid suspicion, Perry Yates wouldn’t have wanted to go out anyway. Now, with their words, it was like she’d been given a royal decree. This meant she would have more time to prepare.

’What a shame,’ she thought. ’The patrol team inspects all the containers every time one disappears. Otherwise, at my speed, getting rid of three containers in two days would be no problem.’

That night, with a loud KERPLUNK, the sound of a massive object hitting the water echoed from the stern of the ship. A glance at the containers confirmed that, sure enough, another one was gone.

Just as Perry Yates finished her work and was about to go to sleep, her door was suddenly knocked on.

She opened it to find a man with long hair, wearing a trench coat, standing in the doorway.

"You have the wrong person. I don’t know you."

Just as Perry Yates was about to shut the door, the man blocked it with his arm. "Felix Flynn sent me. I need you to cure my poison."

Seeing his forceful attitude, Perry Yates had no choice but to let him in.

The moment he stepped inside, the man began taking off his clothes. He moved with a practiced speed, as if he’d rehearsed it hundreds of times, stripping off his top in the blink of an eye to reveal a fair but powerfully built back.

Seeing this, Perry Yates noticed something was wrong.

On that fair back was a patch of bruised, greenish-blue skin.

This wasn’t an ordinary bruise. It was tinged with red and faintly emitted a foul stench, like the smell of a rotting corpse.

Seeing this, Perry Yates first used Identification on the man. The result was: Zombie virus invading flesh and blood. Undergoing zombification.

At the sight, Perry Yates couldn’t help but take a few steps back.

"Don’t worry, I can still control myself for now. I don’t have the desire to hurt anyone."

But it was unclear how much longer he could last.

"This is for your fee."

Perry Yates took the two cards he offered and put them away without a glance.

She then took out a piece of candy and gave it to the man. "You’re lucky. I just got a new batch of detoxification candies today. This should temporarily alleviate your condition. As for the antidote, that will take a little more time."

After the man ate the candy, he did indeed feel much better. The way he looked at Perry Yates changed.
