Apocalypse Regression: I Am the SSS-Rank Nightmare

Chapter 85: Apocalypse Monarch → Ashen Eclipse

Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Apocalypse Monarch → Ashen Eclipse

Leon descended through the darkening corridors of the fortress, the Sector Control Key resting quietly in his inventory. Behind him the command chamber continued its controlled shutdown. Lights died in sequence. Barrier nodes lost power. The great structure of black alloy was already becoming a hollow shell.

He did not rush.

When he reached a wide internal platform overlooking the central shaft, the system finally responded to the threshold he had crossed.

A deep, resonant chime sounded inside his mind—cleaner and heavier than any previous notification.

[Level 50 Threshold Reached.]

[Class Evolution Conditions Met.]

[Previous Class: Sovereign of Finality – Apocalypse Monarch has reached its structural limit.]

[Initiating Class Advancement...]

Leon stopped walking.

The Aura of the End-Game collapsed inward without his command, condensing into a tight, swirling sphere of absolute darkness around his body. The dark metal floor beneath his boots cracked in a perfect circle. Fine gray ash rose from the fractures and began to orbit him in slow, deliberate rings.

Pain followed—deep, structural, and absolute.

It was not the burning of ordinary advancement. It felt as though every law he had imposed through Finality was being rewritten at the root. His bones hummed. The Void Monarch Set flared with violet light along every plate as it struggled to adapt to the rising pressure. The two relics from Floor 8—the bone shard and the incomplete core—vibrated sharply in his inventory, resonating with the change.

Leon dropped to one knee and endured it in silence.

The darkness around him deepened until even the faint emergency lights of the fortress could no longer penetrate the sphere. Inside that absolute black, something old and vast pressed against the edges of his existence, measuring, then yielding.

The process lasted less than a minute.

When the darkness finally receded, Leon rose to his feet.

The air around him had changed. The Aura of the End-Game no longer felt like a domain he projected. It felt like a natural extension of his presence—thicker, quieter, and far more absolute. Gray ash continued to drift from his shoulders and the hem of his duster before fading into nothing.

He called the status panel.

[Core Skill Evolution: Finality Eclipse → Absolute Eclipse]

The previous title of Apocalypse Monarch was gone.

In its place stood something heavier and more complete.

Leon closed the panel and exhaled once. White vapor drifted from his lips and immediately turned to fine gray ash before vanishing. The fortress around him continued its quiet death. Far below, the last of the major power columns went dark.

He resumed his descent.

When he stepped out of the main entrance and onto the hexagonal plaza, the Iron Circuit looked different. The orbiting barrier nodes of the fortress had fallen from the sky and lay broken across the metal plain. The tall spires in the middle distance had slowed their pulsing rhythms, as though uncertain. High above, the silver rings maintained their alignment on him, but their light had dimmed.

The Sector Control Key in his inventory pulsed once.

New pathways of violet light unfolded across the plain in clean geometric lines, responding to the change in administrative control. One path led deeper into the current sector. Another angled sharply upward toward a distant, far larger structure that rose like a black needle against the starless sky—the primary gate nexus of Floor 9.

Leon adjusted the collar of his duster. The plates of the Void Monarch Set had darkened slightly during the advancement, the violet runes along their edges now carrying a faint ash-gray undertone.

He started walking toward the upward path.

The Aura of the End-Game—now the quiet, constant pressure of Ashen Eclipse—spread around him without effort. Circuits in the metal plain dulled as he passed. Residual energy fields simply ceased.

Floor 9 had forced him to the threshold of Level 50.

It had also forced his class beyond its previous limit.

The Finality Sovereign continued forward across the dark metal, leaving a trail of silent, ash-touched ground in his wake.

The next authority would meet something no longer defined by the old title.
