Apocalypse Regression: I Am the SSS-Rank Nightmare
Chapter 88: SynchronizationChapter 88: Chapter 88: Synchronization
Leon stepped into the violet light of the primary gate without hesitation.
The transition was smoother than any previous floor shift. There was no violent spatial turbulence, no crushing pressure. The refined control of the Gate Nexus Key and the Sector Control Key combined to create a clean corridor of structured energy that carried him forward in silence. Eclipse Presence remained active throughout, the quiet pressure of Ashen Eclipse brushing against the walls of the transit path and leaving faint trails of gray where the denser system light touched his domain.
The crossing lasted only seconds.
When the light released him, Leon stood on a broad observation terrace of black alloy that overlooked a vastly different section of Floor 9.
Below stretched an immense manufacturing basin.
Tiered platforms of dark metal descended in geometric steps toward a central depression many kilometers across. Along every level, assembly lines of enormous scale moved in perfect synchronization—construct frames being built, armed, and activated in continuous sequence. Rivers of luminous coolant flowed through transparent channels between the platforms. Towering fabrication spires rose at regular intervals, their surfaces covered in the same living circuitry as the nexus, but denser and more active. High above, multiple silver rings hung closer than before, their rotation slow and deliberate, each one clearly focused on the basin.
This was no ordinary sector.
It was one of the Iron Circuit’s primary production and deployment hubs.
Leon stood at the edge of the terrace and let the Ashen Fog expand. The mapping returned thousands of active signatures—maintenance constructs, security details, heavier enforcement frames still in the process of activation, and several concentrated authority signals located in elevated command towers spaced around the basin’s rim. The entire region operated under a unified control network far more complex than the single sector authority he had already erased.
A low system tone registered at the edge of his awareness.
[You have entered Floor 9, Sector 03: Primary Fabrication Basin.]
[Local production and deployment protocols are active.]
[Unregistered high-tier signature detected. Escalation path initiated.]
Leon did not wait for the escalation to fully form.
He started down the nearest descending platform.
Eclipse Presence spread ahead of him in a steady wave. Assembly lines nearest the path slowed as circuits dulled under the passive erosion of Ashen Eclipse. A cluster of lighter security constructs that had been moving to intercept simply locked in place when the domain reached them, their sensor bands flickering before going dark. Leon passed them without breaking stride. The Abyssal Stinger remained sheathed. There was no need to waste motion on units that could no longer function.
Deeper into the basin the response grew heavier.
From a nearby fabrication spire, a full deployment bay opened. Two dozen reinforced constructs emerged in coordinated ranks, followed by three floating artillery platforms of a denser design than those he had faced at the nexus. At the same time, barrier projectors along the platform edges ignited, attempting to seal the section and trap him in a kill zone.
Leon raised one hand.
Ashen Tide rolled outward in a wide, controlled arc.
The evolved wave of dark violet fire and gray ash swept across the advancing ranks. The front line of constructs lost structural integrity almost immediately—plates blackening, joints failing, frames collapsing into heaps of inert metal. The barrier fields cracked and dissolved under the same pressure. The floating platforms tried to climb above the tide; Absolute Eclipse, released in a focused vertical burst, stripped their lower shields and sent two of them spiraling downward in trails of fading silver light.
The surviving units attempted to reorganize.
Leon was already among them.
He moved with the quiet certainty of the new class. Each step carried the constant erosion of Eclipse Presence. Each cut of the Abyssal Stinger carried the deeper finality of Absolute Eclipse. Constructs fell in rapid sequence, their adaptive systems unable to compensate for the absolute nature of the decay now woven into his presence. When the last reinforced frame collapsed, the platform section fell silent except for the distant, ongoing rhythm of the wider assembly lines.
Leon continued downward.
The deeper he moved into the Fabrication Basin, the more the environment itself began to react. Fabrication spires nearest his path slowed their production cycles. Coolant rivers dimmed where the domain brushed them. High above, the silver rings adjusted their alignment with increasing precision, tracking his progress across the tiered platforms.
At the edge of his Perception, one of the elevated command towers flared with a sudden spike of authority signature—stronger and more complex than the gate guardian. The local control network was consolidating its response around a single higher node.
Leon paused on a wide intermediate platform and opened his status.

Still comfortable. The recent engagement had cost almost nothing. He closed the panel and looked toward the command tower that had flared.
A new transit bridge of violet light was already extending from his current platform toward that tower, responding to the administrative rights he now carried from the nexus keys. The floor’s own systems were being forced to open paths for him even as they prepared to resist.
Leon stepped onto the bridge.
The quiet pressure of Ashen Eclipse spread across the luminous surface, dulling its edges. Behind him the assembly lines of the Fabrication Basin continued their work, still producing constructs that would never reach him in time.
Ahead, the higher authority of Sector 03 waited.
The Finality Sovereign walked forward without slowing.
Floor 9 was beginning to understand the scale of what had entered its circuits.
It would learn the rest soon enough.
