Apocalypse Regression: I Am the SSS-Rank Nightmare
Chapter 89: Sector Command TowerChapter 89: Chapter 89: Sector Command Tower

The violet transit bridge carried Leon across the open air of the Fabrication Basin in a clean, straight line.
Below him the assembly lines continued their tireless work, constructs moving along magnetic rails in perfect synchronization, fabrication spires feeding raw material into the production cycle without pause. The scale of the basin remained impressive even after the earlier engagement—kilometers of layered platforms, coolant rivers, and active manufacturing that had clearly been designed to supply an entire floor’s worth of enforcement assets.
Eclipse Presence spread along the bridge as he walked. The structured light of the transit path dulled at the edges, gray ash drifting from the points of contact before fading. The floor’s systems noticed. Warning indicators flared along the bridge supports, then died as the passive erosion of Ashen Eclipse overwhelmed their feedback loops.
The command tower grew larger ahead.
It rose from a reinforced platform on the basin’s mid-tier, a tall hexagonal structure of black alloy whose surfaces were denser with circuitry than any previous node. Multiple rings of barrier nodes orbited its upper levels. Weapon emplacements lined the external terraces. At the tower’s peak, a concentrated authority signature burned with clean, heavy intensity—noticeably stronger than the gate guardian he had already erased.
Leon stepped off the bridge onto the outer platform of the tower.
The response was immediate.
Barrier nodes accelerated into a tight lattice. Emplacements rotated and opened fire in coordinated volleys. At the same time, heavy bay doors along the tower’s base slid open and released a fresh wave of reinforced constructs—thirty units of the denser fabrication pattern, supported by four floating artillery platforms that climbed rapidly into overlapping firing positions.
Leon did not break stride.
Ashen Tide rolled outward in a wide arc the moment the first ranks fully emerged. The evolved wave of dark violet fire and gray ash swept across the platform, stripping barrier fields and collapsing the front lines of constructs before they could establish a proper formation. Frames blackened and fell. Internal systems failed in cascading sequence. The nearest floating platforms lost lower shielding and were forced to climb higher, their firing solutions disrupted by the constant pressure of Eclipse Presence.
The surviving units attempted to adapt, spreading into a wider perimeter and switching to synchronized high-output barrages. Leon moved through the storm of silver light under the protection of his domain. Projectiles that entered the radius of Ashen Eclipse lost coherence almost at once. Those dense enough to retain form scored only brief, shallow marks across the Void Monarch Set before the ash-gray undertone erased the residual energy.
He reached the first cluster of constructs and engaged directly.
The Abyssal Stinger found every critical junction with the same economy as before, but the deeper weight of Absolute Eclipse made each successful cut more decisive. Necrotic Injection spread farther and faster through the refined internal architectures. Constructs fell in rapid succession, their adaptive systems unable to compensate for the absolute nature of the decay now woven into his presence. When a floating platform attempted to lock him under a sustained beam from above, Leon answered with a focused vertical burst of Absolute Eclipse that stripped its primary array and sent the unit spiraling downward in a trail of fading light.
Within minutes the outer platform was quiet again, littered with broken frames and settling ash.
Leon continued toward the main entrance of the command tower.
The heavy alloy gates began to close as he approached. He placed one hand against the central seam and drove a controlled pulse of Finality into the metal. Gray cracks raced outward. The gates seized, shuddered, and partially disintegrated, leaving an opening large enough to pass. He stepped through into the tower’s interior.
The inside was a vertical cathedral of moving circuitry and precise geometry. Open shafts rose through multiple levels, lined with magnetic rails and active data streams. Transparent panels showed internal security teams already moving to intercept. The authority signature above pulsed with increasing intensity, clearly aware of the breach.
Leon chose the central ascending shaft and began to climb.
He moved from support column to support column, using raw physical power and short controlled applications of force to bridge the gaps. Eclipse Presence filled the shaft around him, dulling sensors and disrupting targeting solutions from the lower levels. Beams of silver light lanced upward from defensive emplacements; most unraveled before reaching him. Twice he encountered internal security teams attempting to block the shaft. Both groups fell in short, decisive exchanges—the domain suppressing their coordination while the Stinger and Absolute Eclipse ended them before they could fully adapt.
As he climbed higher, the pressure of the authority signature grew sharper. The circuits in the walls pulsed faster. Sections of flooring and wall plating attempted to reconfigure into temporary barriers or weapon ports; each attempt failed under the constant erosion of Ashen Eclipse.
At last the shaft opened onto the upper command level.
The chamber was wide and circular, its walls covered in dense, rapid circuitry. Floating displays of production data and sector logistics surrounded a central dais. On that dais stood the Sector 03 Authority—a tall, refined construct of seamless black alloy, its frame more elegant and densely built than the gate guardian, a branching crest of pure white light rising from its head. Both arms ended in heavy adaptive arrays that were already shifting configuration as Leon entered.
No words were exchanged.
The authority construct opened fire the moment he crossed the threshold.
Leon walked forward into the barrage, the quiet pressure of Ashen Eclipse spreading ahead of him across the command chamber.
The true control node of the Primary Fabrication Basin had revealed itself.
And the Finality Sovereign had come to erase it.
