Chu Miao stayed in the sect for a couple of days helping with handling the aftermath of the battle.

On the third day, she had her family, the Li family, Ye Xuan and his brothers, and Little Zhao Ji enter the Soul Ring to cultivate in seclusion.

Chu Miao didn’t go to cultivate immediately, but went to the study to research array formations.

When Ye Xuan saw this, he also followed along.

He had been studying array disks for a while now and he believed he could help.

Because Chu Miao already had an idea of the patterns of the array formation she wanted, it didn’t take long for her to succeed in drawing a crude one.

Even though it was successful, it lacked the ability to isolate high-level zombies.

After toiling for five days without sleep in the Soul Ring, she left together with Ye Xuan to go and test the array.

She discovered that while it could isolate death energy, any zombie past level three couldn’t be stopped.

Even though this was not what she hoped for, it was a start.

At least, if an army of zombies tried to breach the city, most of the cannon fodder low level ones would be obliterated just by coming into contact with the array.

With this level of success, the two went back home and entered the Soul Ring once more.

"Is it possible to make it more lethal? If it could eliminate zombies of the sixth level, that would be even better." Ye Xuan spoke while looking at the array disks he had made to store the death array.

He hadn’t just been idle recently. After Chu Miao drew the outline of the array she had in mind on paper, he tried to learn it together with her and after a few days, he succeeded.

Once he was sure about the flow of spiritual energy and the amount required for the array, he was able to gauge what kind of array disk was suitable for it.

Thus, he also started researching more about array disks and he had finally succeeded.

"I will try. But with the available materials, no matter how much I try, I won’t be able to create an array strong enough to deter zombies of level seven and above. We will have to deal with those manually." Chu Miao said regretfully.

Only if they were in the Immortal Realm, then he would definitely be able to find the materials they needed for such a special array.

"It’s already good that most of the zombies can be held at bay. Besides, we can’t really turn humans into fledglings who need to be fed everything. They also need to be strong enough to protect themselves. If we leave and another threat appears, how would they survive if they do not practice with the zombies?" Ye Xuan could tell whathis fiancee was worried about.

But truth be told, if Chu Miao didn’t have that prophecy hanging over her head, he wouldn’t have let her take on such a heavy responsibility.

Some god had placed the fate of humanity in the lower Realm in her hands.

Nevertheless, he would help he wherever he can so that she doesn’t carry that burden alone.

"You are right. Humans cannot be treated like children. Humans are resilient creatures and given time, they will adapt and retaliate. They will eventually reclaim their position at the top of the food chain and not continue to be nourishment for zombies." Chu Miao was aware that her role as savior was merely to guide humans to the right path of evolutions and not do everything for them.

It was only because now she had another goal in mind that she sought to hasten the completion of her mission.

In fact, her light element could now cover the entire City A and if she were to unleash it, all the zombies within the sphere of light would turn to ashes regardless of their level.

However, she understood that doing this would not be helping the people in City A but making them complacent.

The only thing they would truly cherish was the one fought for by themselves.

So, she let them battle zombies and she would step in to help when necessary.

After a few adjustments, the array formation was ready and Chu Miao immediately left the Soul Ring before activating it.

With the center as the sect, the death array expanded outward until it covered the entirety of City A.

Yet, she did not activate it. If she did that, all the level six zombies and below would perish. But these were needed as sparring partners for the humans advancing almost everyday to hone their skills.

Once this was accomplished, Chu Miao made a few more of the death arrays and Ye Xuan fitted them into the array disks he made.

With the array disks, it was only a matter of injecting some energy into the disk to activate it.

"We should give these to other bases in other cities. In case of an emergency, they would have a semblance of protection against most of the zombies, giving them a chance to organize themselves and take action." Ye Xuan suggested.

He still hoped that their country could save as many people as possible by the way end of the apocalypse.

He had no doubt that the apocalypse would end, it was only a matter of when.

Yet, it was imperative for humans to hold on until then.

"You have a point. Give them to some of the soldiers who can be trusted to deliver them. Contact President Yu and explain their use before letting him distribute them. I believe this will help the central government to consolidate power and reign in those rogue individuals who seen to think that the apocalypse is an opportunity for them to build their kingdoms and rule." Chu Miao had indeed known about this issue for a while, but she wasn’t part of the government or military, so she didn’t feel obligated to act.
