Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive
Chapter 645: The Zombie King’s Plan"You mean the zombie king is fishing?" Grandpa Li asked with a frown.
If what he thought was indeed true, then humans were destined to face a fierce battle that if not handled properly, could lead to their extinction.
"It should be so. There is no need for the zombie king to send that group of zombies to infiltrate the city for no reason." Chu Miao nodded in agreement.
"But this feels a little too far-fetched." The first son of the Li family commented skepticallly.
"Is it?" His younger brother asked solemnly.
As a soldier, he didn’t believe in coincidences, and the coincidences in this battle and the few times the zombie king had taken action were telling.
How could this time be an accident? It was definitely deliberate.
"Can someone explain what you people are talking about? I feel like you are all speaking in tongues." Chu Hao couldn’t take it anymore and spoke.
In fact, it’s not that he was stupid, but he was too straightforward to understand the underlying intricates of the zombie king.
Chu Mo noticed that not only his son, but also his wife didn’t seem to understand. So, he volunteered to explain the issue to them.
"The zombie king is taking City A and probably other cities as farms. Superpower users need crystal cores to advance their abilities. It is also highly possible that zombies are the same. To advance, they either need the crystal cores of their kind, or the flesh and cores of ability users. From the behavior of the zombie king, both this time and the time Little Bunny went to rescue people in Russia, it is possible that high-level zombies require ability users to evolve further. But the higher their evolution, the higher the level of ability users they need. In that case, for the zombie king to evolve, it probably needs many high-level ability users. Nevertheless, the advancement of humans is very slow, thus, slowing down it’s evolution. The only way to progress further is to help the humans to advance faster so that it could harvest faster as well." He explained everything patiently.
"Wait, what you mean is, the millions of zombies that attacked the city were free resources delivered to us so that we can upgrade our skills and become high-level enough for the zombie king to consume and evolve?" Chu Hao asked incredulously.
"Indeed. The main purpose for today’s battle was to deliver those high-level crystal cores from level six, seven, and eight zombies to us so that more humans can upgrade. Once the real battle begins, the zombie king can harvest the upgraded cores from humans and increase its own strength." Chu Miao added somberly.
"Then what about the millions of zombies killed outside the city?" Li Pan asked curiously.
"Those were just a distraction so that we won’t discover the real purpose of the zombie king. After all, if only that thousand high-level zombies attacked, it would raise suspicions. However, if millions of zombies attacked from one side and another group attacked from a different direction, the most common thought would be that the zombies used the millions as a distraction to infiltrate the city from the other side and slaughter humans while they were caught off-guard. Who would think that both strategies were mere distractions and the real purpose was to deliver crystal cores so that we can enhance our strength?" Chu Miao continued to elaborate her thoughts.
"What a cunning zombie! How has the intelligence of zombies become so formidable?" Grandpa Chu wondered out aloud, yet, everyone harboured the same thought.
"So, what do we do now?" Li Kian, who had been sitting quietly beside his brother asked.
"We will get stronger while the zombie is waiting for humans to become food. For those here who are on the verge of a breakthrough, find time to enter seclusion and breakthrough. For others, we will actively search for high-level zombies and harvest their crystal cores to distribute to as many ability users as possible. They can be exchanged for supplies or other items. The zombie king thinks it has control over how the humans within the city advance and their levels. But what if more high-level ability users emerge? Moreover, what if the zombie king expects the highest level human to be merely level seven or at most level eight but a large number of level nine or even level ten superpower users appear? This will give us the element of surprise in battle. So, everything must be done discreetly. We can’t let a zombie outsmart us." Chu Miao suggested and everyone felt that it was a sound suggestion.
"But if the zombies have become so cunning, is it possible for them to infiltrate the city without our knowledge and wreck havoc?" Mother Chu asked with concern.
"Even though we have taken measures, that cannot be overlooked. We have to device a way to eliminate this possibility." Grandpa Li agreed quickly and everyone else shared the same opinion.
"What can we do?" Someone asked.
"I remember in the Immortal Realm there was a kind of array that could isolate demons. Once the array was activated, demons could not enter the city and those who tried to sneak in and enter would be turned to ashes immediately. It was as if there was a demon killing feature added. Thus, no demon could get within ten miles of the vicinity of the city. I am thinking that if we can replicate that array, even if it is on a smaller scale, maybe zombies can stay out of the city." Chu Miao remembered hearing about this kind of array while traveling before she became the queen of the Immortal Realm.
She had been young and curious back then and everything that seemed novel intrigued her into investigating.
The kind of array she was talking about was a family secret passed down through generations by the ancestors who built the city. Yet, she she somehow managed to find out about the array and even saw its outline.
Even though she hadn’t been taught how it was drawn, she had seen the outline and could try to replicate it.
Even if not the exact array, she could try to research something similar that isolated death energy instead of devil energy.
Zombies were similar to the undead since they were corpses anyway. Thus, they possess death energy.
No matter how much they evolve and advance, they would remain corpses. Thus, all she had to do was to trigger the death energy in their bodies if they tried to enter the city.
With this thought, Chu Miao had a plan in mind.
