Ye Xuan didn’t say anything as he left. But when he reached the door, he turned to look at Uncle Jun and said in a serious tone.

"The wooden token I gave you. Don’t put it in the space. Keep it close to you at all times and if you face any attack from animals or even people, all of you remain inside the car and don’t get out under any circumstances."

The people in the room looked bewildered at those words.

Yet, Ye Xuan didn’t explain and just turned and left.

He left a new and modified SUV outside the gas station before taking out his earlier military truck and driving towards City S.

"What do you think he meant by that?" Xiao Jun’s friend asked in confusion.

"I don’t know." Xiao Jun replied in confusion.

"We don’t need to know. We just have to do as we are told. So, on our way to City A, everyone must stay close together." Uncle Jun spoke seriously and everyone nodded.

Uncle Jun then turned to the space user.

"Xiao Man, you should know that some things cannot be coveted, right?" He had seen her earlier infatuation and he didn’t want it to develop into something that might cause trouble later.

Even though he didn’t want to embarrass the young girl, he still had to speak.

"Don’t worry Uncle Jun. I am not muddle-headed. I understand my place and what is at stake if I ruin it. So, don’t worry. That wind has passed."

Uncle Jun wasn’t surprised that the girl saw things so clearly.

Anyone who had survived in the apocalypse for so long wasn’t a fool. And if she had a questionable character, he wouldn’t have kept her in his team.

"That is for the best." Uncle Jun sighed in relief.

"Alright, everyone should rest. We will cook rice, fish, and vegetables tonight. We must recover our strength and set of in the morning." Uncle Jun instructed and everyone found a spot to rest.

Ye Xuan was already a few kilometers away by this time.

Apart from some small hordes of zombies that appeared in different places where the population had been a little high before, the apocalypse, he didn’t encounter anything more interesting.

When he met hordes with hundreds or a few thousand zombies, he would use his ice ability to transform it into a large ice sword that cut off heads enmass.

With a wave of his hand, crystal cores flew towards him and into his space ring without him needing to touch them.

He had several large basins filled with spiritual spring water to soak and purify the crystal cores.

Thus, he didn’t care much about them dirtying his space ring.

It took him two more days to reach City S.

The city was a devastating sight to see. Everywhere one looked, there were black heads moving aimlessly through the city.

Yet, Ye Xuan noticed a difference with some of the zombies.

These zombies didn’t wander aimlessly but walked into buildings, opening doors like humans door.

Moreover, there clothes were clean and even though their skin was greyish, it wasn’t rotting and falling off as they walked.

He identified these as the intelligent zombies that had recovered most of their human thinking.

They knew the shame of being naked. The discomfort of being dirty. And even the need to be organized.

These were probably the generals the zombie king had selected.

Ye Xuan wondered if City S was a zombie base?

Humans could build bases to shield fellow survivors, maybe zombies were doing the same.

The cities that had fallen in the first days of the apocalypse and completely overrun by zombies had probably all turned into zombie strongholds.

Ye Xuan didn’t want to think what could be happening in those cities. And now thinking that the zombies population was in billions, even in their country where the population was over two billion before the apocalypse, then this world being overtaken by them wasn’t too far-fetched.

If the zombie king was raising armies in places like City S and recruiting and training generals amidst such huge hordes where it would be difficult for humans to discover, then attacking human bases wouldn’t be impossible.

He thought that if his brothers hadn’t discovered this place and if he hadn’t come here to advance, he would never have discovered such a situation going on among zombies.

Then the few attacks on human bases by several millions of zombies was not just about herding humans and fattening them up for better resource extraction in the future.

It was also meant as a distraction. If humans thought that zombies only attacked bases in hordes of millions at most, they would strategize how to combat that range of number in each base.

But, what if one day every base in the country, or in the world is attacked by hundred million or more zombies at once?

Even their well-protected sect would fall under such onslaught.

The protection array wouldn’t be able to withstand the bombardment of so many zombies without being given time to replenish energy.

In that case, it would shatter, exposing every human within to the hungry hordes.

This thought send shivers down his spine.

The zombie king was indeed intelligent and knew how to strategize.

Once he and his wife advanced to the divine transformation, they had to find ways for other bases to retreat in case his thoughts became a reality one of these days.

Otherwise, if most of humanity fell and only the people in their sect managed to retreat to their secondary sanctuary in the mountains, what kind of world saving would that be?

With this thought, Ye Xuan floated to the tallest building in the city center and set up several protection and defensive arrays around him.

He didn’t have many things to protect himself from the lightning tribulation, so he could only use these protection arrays to defend against part of it.

The zombies noticed him immediately. After all, he was the only living flesh for hundreds of kilometers around them.
