"Telekinesis... interesting."

A green-haired boy strolled calmly through the chaotic battlefield. Several knives hovered at his back, suspended in the air like living creatures.

The boy tilted his head, studying the enormous eyeball alien in front of him.

"Wow, you are huge."

He glanced down at his own frame.

"I wish my height was a little bigger. Then people would take me more seriously."

The eyeball alien stared at him.

"Brat, are you from the Rizen Group?"

The green-haired boy’s eyes widened. All traces of his playful demeanor vanished.

"I don’t like it when people call me that."

Two jagged pieces of concrete launched toward the eyeball alien.

BOOM!

They smashed against the creature’s transparent barrier, sending violent ripples across the surface. The alien flinched. Before it could speak, a silent command swept through the one-horned aliens and the roaming zombie horde.

They charged toward the green-haired boy. Hundreds of monsters surged forward in a massive wave.

The boy kept walking, his gaze fixed straight ahead. He didn’t even bother looking at the approaching threat. The hovering knives sprang to life.

Whoosh!

Silver streaks sliced through the air. A blade buried itself in a zombie’s skull. Before the corpse hit the dirt, a second knife tore through another monster’s chest. Then a third. And a fourth. The weapons danced from target to target, painting flashes of silver across the battlefield.

Puff! Puff! Puff!

Zombies and aliens collapsed in heaps wherever the blades flew. The one-horned aliens charged with roaring fury, only to find their chests caved in before they could swing a weapon. It was a one-sided slaughter.

The green-haired boy strolled through the carnage, unfazed. Eventually, he locked eyes with the towering alien.

"How boring."

He sighed.

"Don’t you have any stronger guys?"

The boy raised his hand and pointed a finger at the creature.

"Why don’t you come and fight me?"

The giant eyeball’s pupil flared with a harsh light. A crushing wave of mental force erupted toward the boy.

BOOM!

The psychic strike slammed into his consciousness. Yet, nothing happened. The boy merely blinked.

"Hmm?"

The alien recoiled.

"What?"

While the creature struggled to process the failure—

Whoosh!

The flying blades behind the green-haired boy blurred into motion. A sharp blue streak carved across the battlefield.

SPLASH!

Azure blood erupted next to the massive alien, painting its giant iris. The creature froze.

"How...?"

It slowly looked around.

"How did you get past the barrier?"

The energy shield remained entirely intact. It hadn’t been broken.

A terrifying realization dawned on the monster. Its massive pupil darted to the side. The secondary shield protecting the smaller eyeball aliens still stood, yet it bore a tiny puncture. A hole so small it was nearly invisible.

Inside that enclosed space, the silver blades danced in a frenzy.

Whoosh! Slash! Puff!

The weapons shredded the lesser aliens without mercy. Blue blood rained down on the dirt.

"No!"

The huge eyeball alien screamed.

"STOP!"

The plea fell on deaf ears. The flying knives rested, their gruesome work finished as the smaller creatures slumped to the ground in unison.

A heavy silence settled over the area. The giant alien quivered with raw fury. Thick, pulsing blue veins crept across its white sclera. Every one of its secondary pupils shifted in unison, locking onto the green-haired boy.

The boy waited, his expression filled with mild curiosity.

The huge eyeball alien’s voice dripped with killing intent.

"You..."

"You will pay for this."

With the telepathic controllers dead, the battlefield fractured back into utter chaos. The zombies snapped out of their trances. Free from foreign influence, they reverted to their mindless, ravenous nature. They lashed out at everything in reach. Aliens, human soldiers, and beasts—nothing with a pulse was spared.

On the far side of the warzone...

Valentine materialized at Cyrus’s back, peering down at him.

"Are you okay?"

Cyrus turned around and smiled.

"Aunt, no need to worry. It’s nothing I can’t handle."

Valentine shook her head.

"Look at you, acting all tough."

She sighed before continuing.

"Remember, you can’t die and leave me alone in this world."

Without waiting for an answer, Valentine hoisted him over her shoulder like a sack of grain.

"A-Aunt!"

A bright blue spark ignited beneath her boots.

Flash!

In a blink, Valentine and Cyrus vanished into thin air.

Meanwhile, Ars stood battered, both hands missing from his arms. Blood poured freely from the stumps, yet his face held grim determination. Calling upon his power, he forced the leaking blood to pool and solidify.

Whoosh!

Two jagged crimson blades grew from his ruined wrists.

Boom!

He launched himself at the mechanical-armed man. His opponent rushed to meet him, and the two warriors crashed together.

Clang!

Metal met crystallized blood.

Clang!

The strikes blurred as their pace accelerated. Ars fought with lethal precision, threading every slash toward a vital organ. The cyborg parried blow after blow. As the duel stretched on, the skill gap became undeniable. Ars’s technique was a masterclass in violence. The cyborg stumbled, leaving openings in his guard. A blood blade slipped past the metal defenses, aiming straight for flesh.

Yet each time—

Buzz!

A humming energy shield flared to life.

Clang!

The crimson blade rebounded off the hardlight barrier.

Ars narrowed his eyes.

"This shield..."

Realization washed over him. Heavy armor was just the first layer of defense.

The man offered no reply. His cold stare tracked Ars’s every step, and a faint blue glow pulsed deep within his robotic eyes.

A soft chime echoed.

Ding!

A synthetic voice hummed within the cyborg’s mind.

"Combat pattern analyzed successfully."

"Revising countermeasures."

"Countermeasures deployed successfully."

The cyborg’s entire fighting stance shifted gears. Ars’s eyes widened.

The next time their blades clashed—

Clang!

The cyborg intercepted the bloody slash, but rather than pushing back, he pivoted fluidly. He slipped past the heavy strike with calculated grace. Within a breath, he stepped into Ars’s blind spot. Gears clicked within his prosthetic limb.

Click. Click.

The metal blade folded back, transforming into the barrel of a heavy gun.

Ars flinched.

Click!

Cold steel pressed against his spine.

BANG!

A high-caliber round erupted from the muzzle. Stripped of time to dodge or manifest his powers, Ars took the full force of the blast. The projectile punched clean through his chest.

Puff!

Red rained onto the dirt. Ars stumbled two heavy steps and collapsed to one knee, a phantom hand twitching toward the gaping hole in his torso. Crimson leaked down his front.

The smoking gun barrel shifted back into a razor-sharp blade.

Click.

Pacing forward, the man approached his crippled foe with a blank, indifferent stare. Ars forced his head up to meet his executioner’s gaze. The cyborg raised his weapon.

"Don’t bother saying any last words, alien."

His eyes showed no emotion.

"I am not interested."
