Apocalypse Transmigration - The Card Captor System
Chapter 150: Not holding backJust as the two figures were about to clash, a deafening roar ripped across the battlefield.
Both Oshu and Zeltan froze, turning their heads toward the source of the noise. Standing several hundred meters away was Atlas. The thirteen-foot-tall ape glared straight at Oshu.
Oshu’s eyes widened a fraction as he studied Atlas from head to toe. A strange expression crossed his face.
"Interesting..." he muttered. "I can feel my bloodline inside him."
In response, Atlas let out another ferocious roar. He crouched low, and with a booming crack that shattered the ground beneath him, the massive ape launched himself across the dirt, shooting straight for Oshu.
Oshu narrowed his eyes as the beast closed the distance in a blur. Atlas pulled his fist back for a heavy punch, but Oshu simply swung the blunt end of his spear. With a loud smack, the metal smashed into Atlas’s side, sending the giant ape flying.
"Ugh!"
Atlas spun through the air and crashed hard into the distant earth. Oshu shook his head and glanced at the fallen beast.
"I don’t know who you are..." Oshu said. "But right now, I don’t have time to deal with you."
Another explosion rocked a completely different section of the battlefield. A mechanical-armed man flew backward out of a thick cloud of dust, crashing and rolling across the dirt before coming to a dead stop. A shadow stepped out of the haze.
It was William, though his appearance had changed drastically. One of his arms was missing, and blood painted his skin. Yet he remained standing. The zombified Lily clung to his back, her claws digging deep into his flesh. But the most disturbing change sat on William’s forehead. A third eye had grown there. The ominous pupil peeled open, staring right at the fighting grounds.
The giant eyeball alien recognized him the second he appeared. Its numerous pupils trembled with rage.
"This is the cursed creature!" its voice echoed. "He is the one who keeps coming and eating my clan members!"
Zeltan didn’t even turn his head.
"Shut up, you fool." Irritation dripped from his voice. "Focus on your task." He kept his gaze locked on Oshu. "I don’t want any mishaps to occur before what comes next."
The eyeball creature snapped its mouth shut.
From behind the altar, a one-horned alien hurled a long object through the air. Zeltan raised a hand, catching a heavy black halberd with a sharp clang. Strange patterns marked its dark blade and handle. He gave the weapon a slow spin as his blood-red wings stretched out behind him. In response, Oshu tightened his grip on his spear, his golden eyes locked onto his enemy.
For a tense second, neither moved.
Then, the earth cracked. Both figures vanished, meeting in the dead center of the battlefield. Their weapons clashed, sending a fierce shockwave rippling outward from the point of impact.
Zeltan’s wings beat steadily as Oshu drove forward with overwhelming strength. Zeltan was forced backward, his feet sliding through the empty space. But instead of retreating, Zeltan smiled.
Blood seeped from his arm, swirling down to gather around his halberd.
"Blood Art—Crimson Edge."
A razor-thin layer of blood coated the dark blade. Zeltan swung hard, and Oshu shifted his spear to block. Their weapons collided again, but this time, the blood on the halberd stretched outward. A crimson blade shot forward like a whip. Oshu narrowed his eyes and tilted his body back. The red strike passed mere inches from his face, slicing away a single strand of golden hair.
Oshu’s expression grew serious.
"So that’s your trick."
He spun his spear, turning the weapon into a rapid blur in his hands.
"Then try blocking this."
Planting his foot firmly in the dirt, Oshu’s muscles bulked.
"Golden Martial Arts —Mountain Breaker!"
With a thunderous boom, Oshu thrust his spear forward. The sheer force created a visible wave of pressure. Zeltan crossed his halberd in defense just as the attack hit. The strike shoved Zeltan backward, shattering the broken earth beneath his boots, but he held his ground. His wings spread wide to steady himself.
Blood began to drip from Zeltan’s fresh wounds, but instead of falling to the dirt, the red liquid floated. Hundreds of droplets surrounded Zeltan like a twisted halo. Oshu’s eyes narrowed as the droplets shifted, forming into dozens of sharp crimson needles.
"Blood Art—Crimson Rain."
The needles didn’t fly straight. They curved through the air, changing direction mid-flight and converging on Oshu from every angle. Oshu wasted no time, spinning his spear in a wide arc.
"Golden Wheel!"
The weapon moved in a blur, deflecting the incoming barrage with a series of sharp clangs. Some needles shattered against the metal, while others drove harmlessly into the soil. But a few slipped past the defense. One pierced Oshu’s shoulder, and another grazed his cheek. Warm blood trickled down his golden fur.
Wiping his cheek, Oshu looked at the red stain on his fingers and smiled.
"Not bad."
Stomping the ground with enough force to cause a tremor, his enormous body launched high into the air. Zeltan’s eyes widened. Oshu rotated his spear above his head, building heavy momentum before swinging it down with all his might.
"Golden Martial Arts —Heaven Splitting Spear!"
A massive golden arc erupted from the weapon, tearing a trench through the battlefield as it rushed forward. Zeltan’s face hardened. He raised his halberd, drawing a rapid swirl of blood around his body.
"Blood Art—Crimson Coffin!"
A huge sphere of thick blood formed around him just as Oshu’s attack slammed home. The entire battlefield shook violently. The crimson barrier cracked under the pressure. The golden arc tore through the weakened defense, slicing across Zeltan’s chest before finally shattering into fading light.
For several seconds, the dust settled in total stillness. Then, with a loud crack, the blood barrier exploded outward. Zeltan emerged from the wreckage, bearing a deep new cut across his chest. At almost the exact same moment, Oshu landed heavily back on the ground, revealing a crimson slash carved deep into his armor.
Both warriors stared at each other. Neither had gained the upper hand. Zeltan wiped a smear of blood from the corner of his mouth, while Oshu casually rested his spear against his shoulder. A matching grin spread across both their faces.
"Interesting."
"Indeed."
Zeltan spread his wings wide, and Oshu lowered his spear into a fighting stance. The air around them grew thick and heavy. Despite trading several deadly attacks, neither man had been able to force the other back. They were perfectly matched, and they both knew it.
Zeltan gripped his halberd tighter.
"Let’s see how long you can keep up, Ape God."
Oshu’s golden eyes gleamed with excitement.
"That’s what I was about to ask you."
With a final booming shockwave, the two figures charged at each other once again. Only this time, neither planned to hold anything back.
