The team dispatched to Mount Gorrow set out quickly.
Meanwhile, Marcus Monroe had also received Paige Summers’ letter.
After reading it, his expression turned grim. He quickly summoned his subordinates to make the arrangements.
The situation on the battlefield was currently at a stalemate.

After meeting, the two exchanged information and both agreed that Mount Gorrow was highly suspicious.
"From my observations, they seem to have hollowed out the inside of Mount Gorrow and built their stronghold there. After the three parties rendezvoused, they launched a night raid that very evening!
The enemy stronghold’s sole entrance was well-hidden behind a cluster of trees not far from the base of the mountain. But since Sean Raines had already scouted it out, it was no longer a secret.
Marcus Monroe and Sean Raines led the three-hundred-man team, silently dispatching the guards before entering the cave opening.
Beyond the entrance was a long, narrow passageway.
They moved in complete silence to the end of the passageway.
But the moment they emerged, they were spotted by the Superpower Users waiting there!
Immediately, shrill alarms blared from all directions.
The battle began!
Under Marcus Monroe’s command, two squads held back the attacks near the passageway’s exit while the rest pushed deeper inside.
The deeper they went, the more shocked they became.
This stronghold was far more vast than they had imagined.
Hundreds of meters of Mount Gorrow’s interior had been hollowed out, transforming it into a natural fortress.
Inside were massive plazas, multi-story buildings, and even a factory district!
The towering machinery, gleaming and polished, was clearly state-of-the-art. In comparison, the equipment at Bloodfall Base looked like it belonged in a small, manual workshop.
Marcus Monroe didn’t hesitate, storing the equipment away even as he fought.
Fortunately, the two Space Ability Users on this mission—himself and Sean Raines—had considerable storage capacities. He nodded in satisfaction only after every last piece of equipment had vanished into their pocket dimensions.
Just then, a large number of Superpower Users swarmed in from all directions, surrounding them.
They shouted curses in a language none of them recognized.
Marcus Monroe’s expression grew even colder.
He raised his voice and roared, "This is a Rovarian stronghold! Show no mercy!"
Nothing more needed to be said. All the squad members understood the implications.
For Rovarians to be secretly building a stronghold on Astorian soil at a time like this, instead of staying in their own country...
That alone was a massive problem!
While Marcus Monroe led the main force in a bloody battle, Sean Raines took a small squad to continue searching.
Since Marcus Monroe’s group was keeping most of the enemy Superpower Users occupied, Sean’s progress was remarkably smooth.
Finally, in the deepest part of the stronghold, they found a laboratory.
It was described as a laboratory, but it was actually an entire small building.
It was built to be extremely sturdy.
As Sean Raines and his squad approached, gunfire immediately erupted from within.
Sean Raines didn’t charge in recklessly.
He had his team draw the enemy’s fire. Only when the gunshots grew sparse did he give the order and lead his men charging into the lab building.
Researchers, lab equipment, humans—still recognizable as such—being used as test subjects, and others who had already been turned into Zombies. Among them were even infants and toddlers... The scene filled Sean Raines and every one of his squad members who witnessed it with uncontrollable rage.
Their eyes burning with fury, they stored away the lab equipment and killed the researchers. Unfortunately, the research data had already been destroyed.
