As A Mafia Boss, I Refuse To Be An Extra
Chapter 442: Survival Assessment IIDamian’s eyes tracked four massive weapons descending from different angles, his perception letting him see the strikes coming.
He moved as telekinesis activated, pulling his body sideways faster than muscles alone could manage.
Three weapons missed, cratering the ground around him.
But the fourth caught him anyway.
A hammer the size of a bus slammed into his side.
CRACK
Ribs shattered instantly, the impact lifting Damian off his feet and sending him flying backward.
BOOM
His body hit the dome’s barrier with force that would have killed someone without his vitality stat.
Blood filled his mouth as his vision swam, pain screaming through his torso where bones had broken.
’Strong... even without Aura reinforcement, they’re still so fucking strong...’
His telekinesis activated unconsciously, pulling his body upward before the giants could capitalize on his grounded position.
He floated toward the top of the dome, where the barrier curved into a ceiling.
The giants didn’t hesitate as they jumped.
"YOU CANNOT ESCAPE!"
Their bodies launched into the air with shocking agility, weapons swinging as they rose to meet him.
Damian used telekinesis to twist his body mid-air, dodging the first blade by centimeters.
The second weapon forced him to pull himself sideways, his broken ribs grinding with the movement.
The third and fourth came simultaneously from different angles.
He pushed off empty air with telekinesis, his body spinning between the strikes like a leaf in wind.
’I can survive this... Just keep moving in the sky and make them miss...’
The tactical part of his mind was already calculating angles, trajectories and optimal evasion patterns.
’One minute... I just need to last one minute playing it safe.’
The giants landed and immediately jumped again, relentless in their assault.
Outside the dome, Icarus watched with assessing eyes.
’He’s using telekinesis efficiently... maintaining distance and exploiting his size advantage for mobility... He’ll survive the minute easily at this rate.’
But then something changed as Damian dodged another strike.
’Playing it... safe?’
Time seemed to slow down as his crimson eyes flashed with something feral that approached madness.
’No! I didn’t come here to play it safe!’
His parents’ faces flashed through his mind.
Alaric and Lyandra, trapped somewhere in giant-infested portals while he floated around dodging like a coward.
’I didn’t come here to survive!’
Another giant weapon missed him by inches.
’I came here because I need to get stronger! Because every second I waste is another second they’re in danger!’
A hammer passed close enough to his face that he felt the wind displacement.
’Playing it safe doesn’t make me stronger! Surviving doesn’t push my limits!’
His broken ribs ground together as he twisted in mid-air, the pain sharp enough to make his vision white out for a fraction of a second.
’I didn’t devour hundreds of giants in that portal just to run away from five more!’
Slaughter Intent exploded outward from his body.
The pressure crashed against the giants below, invisible but crushing, carrying the weight of absolute killing conviction.
"WHAT–"
The closest giant’s voice cut off as the Intent hit his mind like a hammer.
Damian’s boots pressed against the top of the barrier.
His legs coiled beneath him.
Telekinesis activated at maximum output, not to dodge this time but to accelerate.
His Body Control pushed every muscle fiber to its absolute limit.
All his strength concentrated into his legs–
’I CAME HERE TO KILL THEM ALL!’
CRACK
–And he launched as the barrier fractured beneath his feet from the force of his push-off.
Telekinesis pulled him downward, adding velocity to gravity.
His axe rose, Abyssal Slaughter activating without Aura, powered purely by Slaughter Intent and the perfection of the weapon art itself.
The world blurred.
’Die!’
The thought came cold and absolute.
’Die die die die DIE!’
He hit the closest giant’s neck with his full weight behind the strike–
SLASH
–And the giant’s head separated from his shoulders so cleanly that there was no resistance, the perfected Abyssal Slaughter powered by pure Slaughter Intent cutting through advanced armor like it was paper.
Blood erupted as the massive head tumbled through the air.
"COM–"
The word died as the head hit the ground.
Thud
The thirty-meter body swayed for one heartbeat, then collapsed.
BOOM
Silence fell across the entire field.
"..."
Every candidate outside the dome stood frozen as nobody moved or breathed.
A scarred veteran’s voice broke the silence, carrying shock.
"What the hell! I have Slaughter Intent too... but all it does is put mental pressure on opponents..."
His hands trembled as he stared at the decapitated giant.
"How did he use it to actually cut through that armor?!"
Another candidate’s voice came out strained.
"He seems to be using a weapon art... He combined Slaughter Intent with it somehow..."
Regulus Blackwood’s black eyes were wide, his expression serious.
"What kind of weapon art can be powered by Slaughter Intent alone? I’ve never heard of anything like that..."
Sicar Verratoux’s pink hair whipped as he turned toward the blindfolded old man.
"Sword Demon was the only one who killed them during assessment... And he had to use Sword Intent to empower his blade..."
His voice carried disbelief.
"But this kid just did it with Slaughter Intent? That shouldn’t be possible... Humans don’t know much about its uses..."
The Sword Demon’s smile widened, genuine pleasure crossing his weathered face.
"Incredible..."
His blindfolded face turned toward where Damian stood inside the dome.
"Those giants are limited by the Aura-less environment as well... Although they don’t have skills like we do, they possess physical domains, weapon arts, and immense immunity to elemental attacks."
His voice carried respect.
"Without Aura, their armor technology is their greatest defense... And he just carved through it using pure Intent and weapon art mastery..."
The smile became something sharper.
"As for that weapon art... I recognize the style... It’s Headmaster Kaiser’s creation."
Inside the dome, the four remaining giants stared at their fallen commander’s corpse.
"He... he killed Commander Kragor in one strike..."
"Without using any Aura..."
"What kind of monster–"
Damian’s laughter cut them off.
The sound came out raw and broken, echoing through the dome with an edge that made even the giants hesitate.
"ONE DOWN!"
His voice cracked, blood still streaming from his broken ribs.
"FOUR MORE TO GO!"
His crimson eyes blazed with something beyond sanity, Slaughter Intent radiating from his frame in waves.
’Kill them all... Kill them all... KILL THEM ALL!’
The thought repeated like a mantra, tactical thinking dissolving into pure killing instinct.
