Chapter 36: Chapter - 36: Realization

A few days after the academy started.

The first day of the academy went too eventful so I decided to lay low for a few days, but now I can’t wait any longer.

Now I am going to take my first game loot. Yes you heard it right, a game loot!

Just like several other games, ’Holy Maiden’ also has several loots hidden for the players to discover and obtain for themselves.

I didn’t bother with some of the early game loots as they were insignificant, so I left them for the heroine to take, but this one is something I desperately want.

’Treaticia’ a protective magic circle that provides high level poison resistance. This is definitely something which can be useful in protecting my life.

So I headed for the hidden loot’s location; academy’s student library.

There’s still a month or so before the player encounter the object but I came so early as not to take any risk.

So where’s the magic circle? It’s inside a book.

Yes inside a book called ’Panaceasina’ which is hidden somewhere inside the academy’s student library.

I am in the library and as you would from it, the atmosphere is really serene, as all the students are reading books silently on different desks.

Most of them are senior students as majority of the first year hasn’t stepped in the library yet, for now they are busy with getting to know the academy better and this is my chance.

I headed towards the left most corner of the library, the area I faintly remembered from my memories, the book should be here somewhere.

Finding the book isn’t hard but no one could obtain the magic circle before the heroine in the game because obtaining it requires a secret code that the player discovers in the early part of the game by solving certain puzzles.

Of course I don’t need to go through all that hassle as I already know the secret code from when I played the game in my previous life.

I quickly found the bookshelf and was about to look for the book, but I stopped in my trait when I saw a girl crouching at the corner of the library as seems to be looking for a book as well.

Surprisingly, she was someone I know. Although not personally but well enough to know that she should not be here at least yet.

The heroine of the game, Hina Blessen.

She also sensed my presence and hastily looked at my side with an alert expression.

"Ka-.... I mean lord Kai. S-sorry I got surprised."

Hina said with a tense expression as stood up from her place, with book in her hand. She hold the book so I couldn’t see the front cover but the books color seems very similar to the one I am looking for.

"Ah sorry to scare you lady Hina, I was just looking for a book."

I replied with calm, though my inside is in complete chaos. All the things in front of me are suggesting just one thing.

The Heroine is in the library much before the game timeline and she got the book which probably contains the hidden protective magic circle ’Treaticia’.

All this points to just one fact. She knows the story. She knows about the game and its event which is only possible if.....

*She is a reincarnated person!*

*D@mn it! I have been meddling with the game events because I thought no one will know! But if she is also a reincarnated person and I had played the game then she must have realized it, right?*

I calm down my inner storm without letting it shown on my face. It seems like I will have to be more careful from now on.

"Oh here’s the book that I was looking for the mystery of the black sea. Then I will excuse myself."

I took some random @ss book and silently left that corner. Now that I think about it, that particular area seems to be a kind of a overlooked as there is no other student in that area other than heroine Hina.

*Maybe I know the reason*

I let out a wry smile I looked the book in my hand that got nothing to do anything with academics or magical theory. It’s just some random hypothetical book and that area seems to be filled by such books.

I let out a sigh as I found the desk nearest to that corner and sat down with the book open. Of course I am not going to read this book, but it’s a good camouflage.

After making sure that no one else is near me, I silently cast a magic ’Horizon Eye’. In this magic ’Eye’ doesn’t means the user’s eye but the senses of the elements scattered in the atmosphere.

So I can detect things not my eyes, but through the wind and water particles in the atmosphere. Of course it’s still a bit inferior to sound magic’s reconnaissance ability.

*At times like this I really wish to get Ian for help, but it will be a headache to explain him the reason.*

Putting the thought aside, I let my magic flow unnoticed by the other students in the library. I focused my vision towards its target, Hina.

I can vaguely sense her still sitting in that corner with the book opened on her lap. She has no plan of coming out and read it on a desk, which makes it even more clear that her goal is the magic circle.

She flipped through the pages very carefully so not to the one she was looking for. She quickly went through the whole book and then....

She did it again, like she has something and then she finally stopped at a page.

"It’s not here? But how?"

Through my enhanced senses, I heard muttering.

*What’s going on?*

I concentrated some wind element particles to sense the page, of course wind alone can’t give me the image of the book but water particles mixed in the air can convert it into a faintly understandable image for my vision to understand.

And what I understood from it is that.....the page is empty? Or more specifically half of that page where the magic circle was supposed to be was blank.

"How can it be. Who cou..."
