Chapter 40: Chapter - 40: Ralf Walker

Kai’s POV:-

Elena and I are on our way to the cafeteria after the class as we have agreed to meet with Ian and Lily who went to the nursery there.

"I told you! Stop following me!"

When passing by a corridor, we heard a loud, irritated voice of a boy.

"Then you stop running away from me! I am your girlfriend!"

Then there was another voice, this time of a girl. When we looked to see who they were, I saw a familiar face.

"Huh? Kai?"

The boy said with a surprised look, he might have not expected to meet another student he knows here at this hour.

"Hello, good afternoon Ralf, good afternoon lady Minnie"

Ralf Walker, one of the capture targets of the original game. He is the eldest son of the kingdom’s one of the richest business families. His father is one of the leading figures of the commoner faction.

In his route, his biggest obstacle was me, Kai Shen. As the two extremes of commoners and noble factions, we were supposed to be enemies.

Of course the first Ralf first rival was Jin but after Jin get character development throughout the early part of the game, Kai becomes Ralf’s new enemy.

And in his route, I was supposed to be assassinated by someone in the noble faction who wanted to frame the Walker family as the culprits but Ralf and the heroine discovered the truth and saved his family.

How to eliminate this incident from happening?

Simple, father and I didn’t join the noble faction, and in addition I suggested my father to invest in the Walker family’s business and make a friendly relationship with them.

The Walker family has a big influence among commoners and even nobles due to their huge range of businesses, some which are exclusive to them only.

So, my father obviously took the suggestion positively, so we are now on friendly terms with them.

"Good afternoon Kai, and she must be your fiancee lady Elena, nice to meet you."

I have met Ralf on several occasions as both of us accompanied our fathers on business meetings, honestly the academy seems like a holiday because of that.

"So you are Kai Shen. I have heard about you from Ralf."

The girl besides him said as she gave me a piercing look.

Minnie Bezos, she is Ralf’s girlfriend. Her family is a business partner with Ralf’s family.

In the original storyline, they were not dating because Ralf was still stuck in his love at first sight with the heroine in the second prince’s birthday party.

But due to my interference, that incident hadn’t happened. So, they are now dating but there’s just one problem.

This girl Minnie....she is a yandere.

Actually she is kind of a spoiled child of a rich family and thus finds it difficult to make friends. Outside of her family, she is only close to Ralf and so she is ’very’ possessive of him.

Even in the game, though she was not Ralf’s girlfriend, she was still possessive of him and thus bullied the heroine out of jealousy.

Although even in Ralf’s route, she was shown as just a troublesome rival but I can’t rule out the possibility of her having connections to evil magic users given her yandere personality.

*I better stay away from them.*

Quickly bidding a good bye, I along with Elena headed to the cafeteria.

There were very few students there at this time and most of them were hostelers like us.

Ian and Lily were also there but are sitting with a really.... awkward atmosphere?

"What happened? You seem weird?"

"N...Nothing, nothing at all"

I asked Ian but he completely denied.

"What happened Lily? Has he done something weird with you?"

Elena asked with a suspicious look as she gestured a fist to Ian like she might punch him if he did something bad.

"N...No! Really nothing happened! He had not done anything weird"

Lily said as she waved her hand in denial. Rather than sad, her expressions are more like she is feeling embarrassed about something.

"Elena, maybe it’s nothing serious. let’s eat something first."

I suggested. There are still some students around so it’s better not to say anything weird in front of everyone.

In the male dormitory:-

"Wh-...What! You confessed to Lily!?"

Ian and I are back in our dormitory room while Elena accompanied Lily to the Academy gate. She might have wanted to ask her about what happened.

I don’t know if Lily told her anything but I didn’t expect such an answer at all.

Ian actually confessed his feelings for Lily!

I suspected it but to think that he actually likes her and hid that from us, and he even confessed to her!

"So.....what was her answer?"

I asked the important question. If he said that he likes her then what was her response?

"She has not given her answer yet."

"Well that must have been a surprise to her, it’s reasonable to not give the answer right away."

I should console him so he would not become impatient. It’s my time to act like a big brother.

"I am not very knowledgeable about such stuff but I can suggest you to wait as much as possible. With her personality, I think the more time you give her, the more positive her answer will be."

In return, he gave me a surprised look.

"Wow, I did not expect you to have such knowledge about relationships"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean you didn’t even realize that your own fiancee likes you so I thought you have zero knowledge about dating and stuff."

*Ugh.....this guy!*

I felt like being attacked in my most venerable spot. Just one mistake and now he thinks like I am stupid.

*I hope, Elena doesn’t think of me like that*

"Mm.....by the way, you said you like Lily"

"Huh? Yes"

"So....what does it feel like..?"

"What?"

"To like someone. I mean how do you know that you like her....?"
