Awakening the Useless Class...But I am Secretly the Strongest!
Chapter 3: First LootThe next morning...
Ryan walked into the dining room.
His father, mother, and little sister were already sitting around the table.
The atmosphere was unusually quiet.
The three of them looked at Ryan with worried expressions.
They all knew he had awakened an F-Rank Knight class yesterday and assumed he was still depressed.
However...
Ryan simply smiled and took his seat.
He wasn’t the original Ryan anymore.
An F-Rank Knight meant nothing to someone who possessed the SSS-Rank Talent—Perfect Loot.
"So, what’s your plan for today, Ryan?" his father suddenly asked.
His mother shot him a glance, telling him not to pressure their son.
Ryan smiled.
"I found a cheese strategy online. I’m going to try it today and see if it actually works."
His parents relaxed a little.
"That’s a good idea," his mother said with a nod. "Avoiding dangerous fights while gaining levels is much safer."
His little sister, Amelia, nodded in agreement.
"Yeah! If it works, you’ll gain plenty of levels and maybe even get some good skills if you’re lucky."
His father looked at him seriously.
"If you need more money, just tell us."
Ryan shook his head.
"No, the money you already gave me is enough."
"Thanks."
His parents smiled and nodded.
After finishing breakfast, Ryan grabbed his bag and left the house.
The moment the door closed, his mother let out a sigh.
"What a pity..."
"He was so excited about the awakening ceremony, yet fate dealt him such a cruel hand."
Ryan’s father gently held her hand.
"We can’t control fate."
Amelia quietly listened to their conversation.
Her awakening ceremony would take place next year.
Seeing what had happened to her brother made her nervous.
No...
I have to awaken a powerful class.
With that thought in mind, she picked up her school bag and left for school.
Meanwhile...
Ryan boarded the magic train that connected the nearby cities.
A few hours later, he arrived at New Dawn City.
Without wasting any time, he headed straight toward the Orc Land Dungeon.
Before entering, he stopped by the Adventurer’s Market.
He bought a bottle of Ogre blood, along with a large number of offensive magic scrolls.
Unlike the YouTuber, Ryan wasn’t planning to target ordinary Orcs.
His goal was much bigger.
The Orc Chief.
A Level 60 mini-boss that ruled one of the Orc villages.
To prepare for the hunt, Ryan spent every coin the original Ryan had saved over the years, plus the money he have received from his parents.
The money had originally been meant for buying a powerful Knight skill book during a future discount event.
The original Ryan had resisted spending it, hoping it would one day change his fate.
Now...
Ryan smiled as he looked at the pile of magic scrolls in his backpack.
"I’m sorry, but your savings will be put to much better use."
"If I can kill the Orc Chief..."
"I won’t just gain levels."
"I’ll obtain its stats, skills, and maybe even something far more valuable."
Ryan looked toward the giant portal leading to the Orc Land Dungeon.
His eyes shone with anticipation.
"My journey to becoming the strongest starts today."
Ryan walked toward the entrance of the Orc Land Dungeon.
A long line of awakened people waited outside. Some were entering in teams, while others were registering their parties.
When it was finally his turn, Ryan handed over his Awakened License.
The guard looked at the card before raising an eyebrow.
"Ryan Drake. Level 1."
His eyes moved to Ryan’s class.
"F-Rank Knight?"
The guard frowned.
"Kid, this dungeon is recommended for Levels 1 to 100, but the monsters here start at around Level 20. Even the Orc Scouts are much stronger than a newly awakened person."
"I know," Ryan replied calmly.
The guard looked at him for another moment.
"You should come back after gaining a few levels somewhere else."
Ryan smiled.
"I’m not here to fight the Orcs."
The guard looked confused.
"Then why are you here?"
"I’m just going to use a cheese strategy to level up."
The guard immediately understood.
"Oh..."
He nodded.
"So you’re one of those."
Every year, many newly awakened people came to the Orc Land Dungeon just to use different cheese methods found online.
As long as they stayed careful, they could gain several levels without fighting the monsters directly.
The guard handed Ryan’s license back.
"Fine."
"Just don’t do anything reckless."
"If things go wrong, use your emergency teleport scroll immediately."
"I will."
Ryan put away his license and walked through the giant portal.
A flash of light covered his vision.
The next second, he appeared inside the dungeon.
A cool breeze brushed past him.
Towering trees stretched as far as the eye could see, and the sounds of monsters echoed throughout the forest.
Ryan opened his map.
According to the video, the Orc village was about three kilometers away.
He stayed off the main paths and quietly made his way through the forest.
Whenever he spotted a wandering Orc Scout in the distance, he simply changed direction.
There was no reason to fight them.
Nearly an hour later, Ryan finally reached the area shown in the video.
From behind a large rock, he looked ahead.
A huge wooden village stood in the middle of a clearing.
Dozens of Orcs carrying axes and spears patrolled the entrance.
Farther inside, even larger Orcs could be seen walking around.
Ryan smiled.
"Found it."
He quietly took out a shovel from his backpack.
"Now it’s time to prepare the trap."
Unlike the YouTuber, Ryan wasn’t planning to trap ordinary Orcs.
His target was the Orc Chief.
Ryan looked over the open field.
"For this plan to work, I’ll need something much bigger."
He took out his first magic item.
It was an enchanted shovel that greatly increased digging speed.
Without wasting any time, Ryan got to work.
He dug one massive pit after another, each large enough to trap more than twenty adult Orcs at once.
One pit.
Two pits.
Five pits.
Ten pits.
By the time he finished, half the day had already passed.
Ryan wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Fuck..."
"I even gained a skill."
Doing the same action continuously could eventually turn it into a skill.
After digging for hours, Ryan had awakened a new passive skill.
Skill Acquired: Digging (Lv.1)
The constant work had also raised him to Level 2.
Ryan smiled.
"Not bad."
Next came the traps.
