Chapter 426: Chapter 426: Azathon

The female sovereign or at least the piece of her that remained flew as fast as she could to report.

Her power has fallen to level 9 of creation realm, while the drop might not sound large it was extremely huge.

She was still at the peak of creation realm and theoretically can still become a sovereign.

Considering she had been a sovereign before, one might think she would have an easier time this time around.

But that couldn’t be further from the truth, detonating her sigil had severed her connection to the heavens severely.

Comprehending her law of water will be much harder for her now, her chances of becoming a sovereign had dropped.

But right now that didn’t matter, she reached the only remaining sovereign of her universe to report.

But she found him with other sovereigns, at the forefront was Azion Lightblare’ son, Azathon Lightblare.

Azathon was at level 6 of the sovereign realm, an incredibly powerful sovereign but upon seeing him.

She knew he wouldn’t be a match for that herald of hope, her mood soured but she still reported.

Azathon looked at her with disdain, he looked down on all those who were not human believing humans were the supreme race.

" I’ll take care of it, we need to retrieve the singularity of that universe before it’s completely corrupted."

The others nodded, Azathon was leading nearly 30 sovereigns from his universe, as the second ranked universe, they naturally had a tremendous amount of strength.

Even before the universal wars, they already had dozens of sovereigns but when they absorbed the singularities of other universes.

Even more sovereigns were born, most of those following him right now were amongst the newly born sovereigns.

They set off immediately, she didn’t follow them, she used the excuse of needing to recuperate.

Azathon easily agreed, he didn’t want her to follow anyways, weaklings were a weakness when dealing with the spawn of hope.

They reached that universe but what they found waiting was an endlessly army of creatures composed of light.

With three distinct colours, white, blue then gold, these were the vermin of hope, extremely dangerous beings.

They numbered in trillions with the strongest of them reaching creation realm. The herald saw them as soon as they appeared.

15 fallen sovereigns appeared around her and faced Azathon and his army. These were the fallen of hope.

" According to report, a fallen of bones was here, tell me you disgusting thing, why is hope here instead?"

Azathon asked but his question earned him venomous gazes from the 15 sovereigns surrounded the herald.

The herald floated toward him, her body composed of yellow light with a blue crystal on her forehead lit up the space around her.

Those looking at her could see all their desires and wishes being played out like film.

The sovereigns could easily resist this, they knew it was the herald’s passive enchantment ability.

" The child of bones? She was but a guide, had you hoped to meet her perhaps, I could summon her."

The herald’s voice was as sweet as an angel, enchanting even to those with the strongest of wills.

Azathon could feel the weaker sovereigns around him falling for her charms, his will blazed high.

He didn’t even need to summon his law avatar which was the physical manifestation of his will combined with his laws, to dispell her charms.

Upon noticing what had happened, the sovereigns bit their lips and used their wills to shield their minds.

Hope giggled upon seeing this, " You are stronger than I expected child of heaven but what is strength without hope.

Are you truly alive without hope, do you have no dreams?" Her question hung in the empty space.

It created doubt in their hearts, it was true that they hoped for the future, they hoped for more strength.

Even now, they hoped to live through this battle, a seed of doubt sprouted in their hearts.

That seed in return set ablaze the hope they had in their hearts and this hope allowed her to slowly consume their power.

She was eating their very laws increasing her own power temporarily. But most of all, she was shaping their hope into her weapon.

Those hoping for the future would have their future cut, if her technique is completely then they would have no future.

This meant they would be guaranteed to die here, it was a terrifying power, fortunately it worked with conditions and needed time and preparation.

Unfortunately, she had protectors which would give her the time to cast her ability and win this battle.

Azathon noticed that as well, ’ These weaklings, I never should’ve brought them along.’

It was too late now, they were infected with the disease of hope, it would fester and grow then spread like a disease.

He sighed, " Blame this on yourselves, on your weakness." The herald tilted her head in confusion.

Azathon summoned a spear, this was her vessel, another spear small enough to fit on his hand appeared.

The two spears merged together, his aura and the spear’s aura grew rapidly, the space around him shook and cracked.

A blinding light spread out with the spear as the centre, it shined brighter than the herald’s body of light.

Azathon raised it above his head and before anybody could react, he turned around and thrust it at his teammates.

None of them had expected that and couldn’t react, projection of spears made of light laws and spear laws shot out.

They moved so fast all his targets saw were flashes before their hearts were pierced through.

Wounding the heart was nothing to a sovereign who had converted parts of their bodies directly into laws.

However a stronger law and will can damage them just as well as a normal weapon can damage a normal human.

They clutched their hearts and groaned in agony, they looked at him with confusion and hatred.

" Why?" A young woman asked with tears streaming down her eyes. Azathon merely gave her a single cold glance.

" A disease had festered inside you, I had to remove it lest you stand in my way." The cold response made the woman shiver.

She smiled bitterly, " To think I’ve loved you for so long only to be killed by your hands, fate is cruel."

Azathon smirked at her, " That was your foolishness." He responded. This interaction surprised the Herald and her fallen sovereigns.

" Is this how traitorous the children of heaven are?" She asked and the fallen nodded.

Azathon turned and faced them, he gently slapped the space around him sending the limb bodies of the other sovereigns floating away.

" Now, there are no more distractions, let’s get this over with."
