Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Hope
The space rift opened and grew larger and larger. Eventually it was thousands of kilometres long and wide.
Suddenly an entire army came pouring in, this week universe had no chance and they knew that.
So before their universe was destroyed, they sent a message to the nearest top universe telling then they’ve been invaded.
The news reached the leaders of the top universes. The strongest universes closest to this one was Kaxion.
However one would still need to cross 6 universes to reach it, passing through one of universes in the top 102.
The 98th ranked universe, it had a sovereigns but only two sovereigns and the strongest was at level 6.
So as soon as they received the news they sent word to Kaxion who passed it to the others.
One of the sovereigns of that universe, a young looking woman rushed to this invaded universe.
As soon as she got there, she was met with carnage and a void that kept expanding devouring the entire universe.
There were still a few people resisting and fighting but the fallen weren’t even taking them seriously.
When she arrived, they noticed her and hope bloomed in their eyes and there brought about their doom.
A feminine figure made of light like a holy being appeared. The sovereign shivered with fear upon seeing this creature.
She knew it, this was not a fallen but a herald of the Nameless, not just any herald but a sovereign rank herald.
She was the herald of hope, having hope in her presence was a death sentence. The Nameless of bones was known to be strong.
But the Nameless of Hope was accepted to be th hardest to deal with, her power touched upon the fundamental of spiritual lifeforms.
All spiritual lifeforms had a semblance of hope, it just differes on what they place their hopes on.
The herald clasped her hands as if praying and the sovereign felt something slowly infecting her.
This was one of the most dangerous abilities of hope, she could destroy or turn your hope against you.
The full Moniker of the Nameless of Hope was called the False Hope but not many knew that.
And she happened to be a hope of these people and suddenly she felt an overwhelming urge to slaughter them.
She tried to resist with all her might but the urges were too strong and she knew it so she did the only thing she could.
Before she could succumb she sent a piece of herself back through the universal gate to her own universe.
She needed to send a message back even if it killed her, plus there piece contained a bit of her laws.
She might live even though she would certainly lose most of her power in the process.
’ I’m sorry.’ she looked at these poor souls with pity, they still looked at her with hopeful eyes.
Not knowing that very hope was the very thing that will doom them, she wished she could erase their hope but it was too late.
They’ve been infected and even if she slaughtered and tortured them, they would still be hopeful.
That’s because hope latches on you like a leech, once infected, no matter how despairing a situation is, you won’t lose hope.
And in return, the herald feeds on your soul, the more hope you have the more vulnerable your soul is to her.
The sovereign finally couldn’t hold on and let lose. She waved her hand and a sea of water appeared in the void of space.
The sea stretched for dozens of light years, each drop as heavy as a planet with the power to drown stars.
The poor souls fighting desperately for survival watched as this ocean that seemed to stretch endlessly fell upon them.
Yet, even in that moment, not once did they lose their hope in her, they still believed she could save them.
This was the terror of hope, it create an unhealthy fanatical belief and hope in somebody.
She looked up at this herald of hope floating towards her with her eyes closed and a gentle expression.
Her presence made the sovereign calm even though she knew this was the effect of hope.
It was making her trust this monstrosity against her own will. ’ Bad bad, this is very bad, what should I do?’
She really didn’t want to die but the alternative was losing most of herself, her power which she gathered over millions of years.
Hope was like a poison that kept spreading, once it fully effect you, you were done for with no chance of escaping.
This sovereign realised she couldn’t fight this monster, the only thing she could do was split herself.
" Ahhhhhh!" She roared and her water laws surged. A deep blue drop of water appeared above her head.
This was her sigil, it had countless runes on it, each so miniscule even the most powerful microscope would not be able to see them.
Her sigil was not an attack or defence type but a support type. It allowed her to gain beyond impeccable control of water.
With a wave of her hand, the sigil lit up with blinding blue light. The water inside most of the fallen moved.
They exploded like blood balloons but that was not the end, the remaining water in this universe moved as one.
Then even more water came out of her sigil, she created an ocean around them, one so vast it encompassed an area hundreds of galaxies wide.
It could’ve been larger but she made it a cube, she trapped herself, the herald and her army within this ocean.
The herald continued moving towards her through the water as if it was not even there. Then she detonated her sigil.
The water cube collapsed within itself crushing everything inside into the side of a cube 5 centimetres wide.
The sovereign had sacrificed herself and took the entire army with her. Unfinished she had underestimated her enemy.
Blinding light pierced through the water cube so dense it was crushing space-time and the herald appeared.
With her were 15 others, each was a fallen sovereign.
