Chapter 429: Chapter 429: Kindness

An entire month went by and Ved had upgraded his stealth trait, after extensive consideration, they decided to go alone.

Ved could cover the stealth part and Naledi’s law of space surpassed that of both Alya and Siri’s mouse.

Basically the two of them were so powerful their friends would no longer be helpful in situations like this.

This realisation hit the others like a hammer especially the beasts who considered Ved their king, they wanted to be useful to him.

Ved and Naledi couldn’t do anything about their feelings, the day came and they were finally deployed.

He used stealth before going through the gate and when they reached the other side all they saw was destruction.

Even though the sovereigns were fighting in the mirror dimension, the creation realm experts alone could cause significant damage to the world around them.

Before the merge of Pangera when space was weak, creation realm experts could pierce through the barrier and enter the mirror dimension as well.

They couldn’t do that on Pangera though which was not an issue since Pangera was durable enough.

However this young universe was not but strangely they couldn’t enter the mirror dimension here as well.

Ved saw Azathon as well the sovereigns who had accompanied him when he faced the herald of hope.

Ved had heard some rumours that he had attacked them, in his curiosity he asked Fenral if it was true.

He was angry to know it was true and cursed Azathon as a heartless bastard until he learnt why he did it.

He didn’t attack to kill them but to kill the hope in their hearts lest the herald use it against them.

After that he gained a bit of respect for the guy, he still didn’t like him or anybody from that universe.

Ved ignored the battles around them, he flew as far away as he possibly could but the battles were everywhere.

Space and time cracked and quaked around them, spatial cracks spreading for lightyears were everywhere.

Fortunately Naledi was sensitive to space time, she was able to guide him through the cracks who could appear spontaneously.

Otherwise being caught in them would certainly be a death sentence to him since they led directly to the minor void between universes.

The void was also separated into levels, the minor void between universes, the great void between realms.

Then the void which surrounds all of reality but even the minor void would destroy Ved should he ever find himself there.

Ved flew through space like a streak of invisible light, stars died all around him exploding like fireworks.

Black holes formed and consumed everything around him but none managed to touch even a hair in them.

Their destination was the very centre of the universe but with their speed, it would take then approximately four trillion years to her there.

That’s after factoring in Naledi’s ability to teleport abroad thousands of light-years instantly.

As theorised by scientists from former earth, the universe was expanding and it was expanding faster than Ved can fly.

This was true for every universe, from the outside, the universe looked like a sphere of a vast but finite size.

However it was anything but, the space-time of every universe expands infinitely, as for older universes.

Their situation was harder to describe, even the sovereigns couldn’t fully describe how their space-time functions.

They were no longer expanding, not in the tradition sense so logically they should’ve reached the limit of their size.

That would imply their size was finite but that couldn’t be further from the truth, on the contrary they were infinite in size.

All the matured universes like Pangera were infinite in size yet some universes were larger than others.

Ved with all of his might couldn’t wrap his head around it. " Ved." Naledi called out drawing him out of his mind.

" I sense a space turbulent ahead, a massive space rift will appear around here, it will be large enough to devour this entire solar system."

She sounded grim. " How long do we have?" He asked, he was ready to use wings of Garuda to escape.

" Not long, about two seconds." He breathed a sigh of relief, that was enough time, especially considering she could just teleport them away as well.

" Ved, there are two life planets here, we can’t just let them perish." Her voice was getting loud.

Ved growled, " We don’t have time, remember how crucial our mission is, we have to prioritise the mission."

She looked at him pleadingly, " What’s the point then, if we’re not fighting to defend those who can’t defend themselves then what’s the point."

" To survive." He answered immediately which caught her by suprise. Then she looked down sadly.

" Please Ved, we can save them." Ved sighed and growled lowly.

" Damn you, how do you plan to save them exactly?" He asked.

" I can teleport the two planets to another solar system nearby but that would drain too much essence.

The issue is that the space around us already unstable, the moment I try teleport anything, it will crack and kill us."

" That sounds dangerous, why the hell are you so persistent about doing this pointless thing."

" It’s not pointless, saving billions of lives is not a pointless thing."

He looked at her floating next to him, her body is tiny in comparison she might as well be an ant.

" Look around you, this entire universe is crumbling, there’s so safe place, if out mission fails.

Not just these two measly planets, every planet in every galaxy will crumble like sand and they will perish anyways.

You would risk so many more lives just for few billions, why?" He asked because he was genuinely confused.

" To not lose myself, Ved, before when you were Alex, when you were human, you wouldn’t have hesitated to save them if you could buy now...."

" You’re wrong." He cut her off before she could finish. " I never cared Naledi, not for any of them.

Kindness? That has never been a thing I had, all of it, the kindness, the so called morality I had.

All of it were fake, mere imitations I did so as to not hurt you, I mirrored you through all of it.

I’m not going to lie, some of it did grow on me but I was never a kind man."

She smiled softly, " Kindness isn’t an emotion my love, it’s action. Your reason doesn’t matter.

What matters is that you helped people who needed help, so yes, you are a kind man, you’ve always been."

While they were talking, Ved had already summoned his law avatar. It didn’t have space attribute but it was modelled after Yggdrasil.

" Fine, be quick, I can’t hold for long."
