Chapter 325 - 323: Who Is The Innocent?Chapter 323: Who Is The Innocent?
"Mister, can you please promise us that you will make sure that Lin Yurui will always have a nightmare for the rest of her life?" A student asked No. 444.
They were again at the roadside where the accident occurred. After witnessing Lin Yurui having nightmares every night and their family falling down from their parent’s wrath, the students finally decided to leave this world.
They’ve already said goodbye too to their family and knew that they cannot stay in this world anymore so before leaving, they wanted to make sure about something.
"That’s right, Mister. I really hate her. We didn’t even do anything to her yet she cruelly let her father kill us without any mercy. I think I’ll really feel uncomfortable leaving this world if she’s well and alright." The students also begin chiming in.
"Even when we are still alive, she was not a good person either! She bullied many of our classmates just because we are nice. She transferred to our school and we treated her as good friends but she kept on talking behind our backs."
"She’s always jealous because our family can provide for us unlike her. But even so, we didn’t let our status become a difference. And we even always treat her! We did good for the time that we spent, so I couldn’t believe how cruel her heart was."
"It turns out that it was only us who treated her as friends and family. If I knew all along that her heart is cold, how I wish I didn’t accept her."
No. 444 nodded after a thought, even more feeling pity after listening to their words. A nightmare is indeed something that can be considered a ’payment’ at least. After all, it’s only right that the perpetrator will forever feel guilty and remorse for the lives they took.
"Don’t worry about her anymore. I’ll take care of it." He promised. After that, he began using his spiritual power to dissipate the resentment around their souls. It took quite awhile than he expected but he thought that maybe because they’re many and due to the way they died. In addition, no matter how they accepted this, he knew that there will always be reluctance that lingers.
To comfort them, he decided to do one thing.
Another wave of spiritual blessing began surrounding the students. It formed into small tiny lights as they began to separately enter the souls of the students.
"I’ll bless your next life to be something that you hope for. I hope that whatever good things you’ve done will reflect the life you deserve." The tone of his voice sounds soft with a hint of tenderness for the youths. He sincerely hopes for the best in their next life just like how they’ve been good in this life.
Besides, looking at the smile on their faces made him feel that the merit they gave is worth it. He also believes that they will do good in the future just like now.
Or so he thought.
Right when he sent them to the hall of judgement and even accompanied them, he was faced with the truth he never expected.

Lin Yurui found herself in another darkness again. She could see nothing around her as if she was trapped in this dark and suffocating space. There was also an eerie silence around her that sent shivers down her spine. There was no one around her, yet this is something that she fears the most.
She hates being alone in the dark. She hates this deafening silence— everything. The fact that she couldn’t even see a single light made her catch her breath. She began feeling the tightness of her chest, with the air inside her starting draining rapidly.
"H-Hahh..." She instinctively holds her neck using her hands and tries to take deep breaths yet every time she does, that suffocation just deepens until she could no longer breathe any.
"N-No..." Tears formed in her eyes and she panics. "P-Please... d-don’t! Pl– ughh!! ... P-Please let me leave! I-I don’t... I-I d-don’t want to be here anymore!"
Her pleads and begging echoes but no one seems to hear her. Her knees weaken as she tries to inhale any air around her. She felt like she could no longer hold on in this darkness. It’s too scary and it feels like killing her.
Just as she thought that this would be the worst nightmare, several voices echoed together in that dark place.
"Die! You deserve to be treated as trash because that’s you!"
"Huh! Do you think that you can fit yourself in ours just because you were able to transfer here? No way! Whatever happens, you’re still trash!"
"You bitch! Did you seduce my boyfriend?! What, are you that eager to climb yourself up?! No! No matter what you do, you will never be the same with us!"
"You stink! Disgusting! Why did the school even allow someone like you to be here?! You’re not allowed here! Go back to where you came from! Go back to your garbage!"
The familiar insults from those voices splashed over more colder than a bucket of ice. The humiliation that she faced everyday flashed in her mind like a broken radio that never stops repeating everyday.
The tears streamed down her cheeks and she covered her ears, hoping to unhear the words that destroyed her.
"N-No... P-Please don’t let me hear it again!" She shook her head repeatedly as if she wanted to be off on her. "P-Please stop! Don’t hurt me anymore, please!"
Ever since she tried to change her life, it has cost her too much. Why? Why can’t everyone accept her for who she is? Did she do wrong? Is it her fault to be born poor? Is it her fault that the status of her family is not the same as theirs?
Everyday, she lived more than a beggar and a slave. She always pleads not for anything but just respect but why can’t they? She only wants to work hard and make her family proud so in the near future, she could earn something that could help them live better.
She strived harder and entered that school because she knew that graduating from that kind of privileged school as a scholar would make it easier to find a decent job. She only wants to be better, but why did the place she once yearned for become a hell?
Her father even became a murderer for his own daughter. She knew that the moment she heard the news of her death, it was her father who broke the bus. But why? Isn’t it because he felt sorry for his child who always suffered in their hands? Their family did nothing wrong to them but they became the most unfortunate.
What is their fault? Who is at fault?
