Chapter 111: 111: D - DAY

"Besides..." June added, "I also think you’re right."

Ryan stared at him as June continued, "Being an F-rank in the group makes no difference... They’re S-rankers, after all. So they’ll eventually win. What’s the difference? Why even try?"

There was silence for a while before June smiled at Ryan.

"Except that there is a difference..."

"The first scenario is that you looked down on yourself, and the second is that they looked down on you. Which do you think is better?"

Ryan fell silent. He already knew the answer.

"It’s better to lose and be looked down on than to look down on yourself first." June smiled as he continued, "Being an F-rank doesn’t necessarily make someone worthless, though... At least, I don’t think so..."

He sat down on the opposite side of the bed and said, "...Being an F-rank doesn’t mean you should look down on yourself just because others do. Rather, find a way to make them feel terrible about their own ranks instead." He laughed.

"S-rank? Who cares? I’m smarter than you. A-rank? Who cares? I’m prettier than you. B-rank? Suck it, I’m richer!"

June grinned as Ryan found himself smiling too.

June sighed and said, "I’m not saying this to force you to join or anything. But all I mean is... don’t look down on yourself because others do. Make them worship the rank they look down on. We might win or lose—it doesn’t matter. At least we didn’t back down and start looking down on ourselves."

Silence filled the room as Ryan bit his lower lip and looked down.

June let out a sigh and got up. "That’s enough advice for today. I suddenly feel like I’m in my thirties again. Argh!" He shivered before turning away. "I should go to sleep early today. No dramas for me. I have to wake up early for tomorrow."

Ryan sat silently, staring at his fingers for a while before finally speaking.

"Yeah. We can’t be late to kick those jerks’ asses tomorrow."

"..." June turned toward him. "Huh?"

Ryan smiled as he stared up at him. "What? No space in your team for another F-rank?"

June found himself smiling.

"The team is practically designed for F-ranks. Why not?"

THE D-DAY FINALLY ARRIVED.

Students flooded into the colosseum-like setting—a massive stadium with seats arranged in a circular pattern. Down in the middle stood a grand-looking arena, perfectly designed for combat.

The colosseum was enormous, stretching out like a massive enclosed space. Decorated in purple and white, students happily made their way to seats positioned around the arena, where they could clearly see the white-colored stage below.

The space was usually reserved for the seniors. It was a grand competition arena meant primarily for senior students. But today, everyone was permitted to enter and witness the competition since it was between freshmen and final-year seniors.

They chatted excitedly as they made their way inside, discussing how eager they were to witness the spectacle while debating who would win.

Some students were even openly selling bets and placing wagers on the outcome. The Elite 5 clearly held ninety-nine percent of the votes.

Of course, everyone was certain they would win.

The authorities had also arrived—the Chancellor and his assistant, the Principal, deans, and professors—all seated at the head tables as they watched the preparations for the competition.

It was supposed to be a casual competition, but with Mr. Kevin involved, much more importance had been placed on it.

They considered it one of the biggest competitions in the academy and had promoted it as such—a competition between their best students, the Elite 5, and the academy’s newest potential talents: a group of F-rankers who had somehow managed to clear an Anomaly Dungeon.

A great deal of attention had been placed on the event. Even the media were present to capture everything as a way of promoting the academy.

Mr. Kevin finally arrived and took his seat beside the Chancellor. The Principal smiled at him after exchanging greetings.

"How is everything going? I hope everything is set to be a fun watch?" he asked the Principal, clearly knowing what he was referring to.

The Principal laughed. "Sure, sure. Everything has been arranged accordingly. I’m certain you’ll have a great watch today."

Mr. Kevin smiled proudly as he stared down at the arena.

"I hope so. I wouldn’t want to be disappointed unless..." He glanced toward the Chancellor, who didn’t seem happy to see him there at all.

Mr. Ken stood behind them, silently watching the scene. He couldn’t help rolling his eyes as he glanced toward Mr. Yen.

Mr. Yen had been pestering him since that morning, repeatedly asking whether he had sabotaged anything.

Mr. Ken hadn’t given him an answer. He simply said casually, "We’ll just have to see, I guess."

The Elite 5 finally arrived.

The five of them stepped elegantly into the colosseum through the entrance as the crowd immediately erupted into wild cheers.

They were all dressed in purple uniforms and equipped with everything they needed for the competition.

Rayder smiled as he spread his arms slightly, enjoying the overwhelming praise while happily making his way into the arena.

They all looked proud and completely on top of the world as the cheers continued to burst through the colosseum. Soon, they stood inside the arena, staring around at the audience that continued cheering loudly for them.

When the audience had finally finished cheering for the Elite 5, it was June’s team’s turn to make their entrance.

Everyone turned toward the entrance, waiting for them to step in as a group.

But nothing happened.

One minute passed, then two.

Still, no one stepped inside as loud murmurs gradually spread through the atmosphere.

"What happened? Did they run away or something...?"

"They were probably too scared. Cowards!"

"I thought as much. No one in their right mind would go against the Elite 5!"

"They bailed! Cowards!"

Everyone was beginning to laugh when they suddenly heard a loud noise.

Confused, the crowd gradually fell silent as they tried to figure out where the sound was coming from. They looked around, only for the noise to grow louder and closer.

Then someone finally recognized the familiar sound.

"Is that...?"

"A helicopter?!"

Shock filled the atmosphere as the sound of a yellow helicopter descending from above engulfed the entire colosseum in deafening noise and violent wind.
