Chapter 122: 122: GET IT DONE MYSELF.

Simon came to stand close to Ryan as he muttered, "Let me handle him. We’re both S-rankers..."

"You’re too weak right now," Ryan explained. "He’ll only hurt you more."

"I can do this. I’ve had worse injuries in real situation dungeons," Simon insisted.

"But—"

"Let him," Kael said. "It’s not like he’s crippled or something."

Ryan rolled his eyes. "Sure then. I’ll—"

He was about to volunteer to guide the two of them in sync when Finn stepped closer.

"I’ll guide him."

Kael stared at him. "You didn’t exactly seem like a perfect match a few minutes ago..."

"I’m sure this time. We’re the most compatible pair here. We’ve proved it before, so... I can handle him. Trust me," Finn said.

Simon sighed and nodded. Finn was the only Guide he was used to working with anyway.

Ryan nodded with a smile. "Sure. You can do this... I trust you."

Finn nodded back with a smile. "Okay."

Kael rolled his eyes.

"Whatever."

Meanwhile, Luther had been healed by Evelyn and slowly got back to his feet. The three members of the Elite 5 stood there staring at the juniors.

"Look who came looking for their doom." Evelyn folded her arms. "Take them down."

Luther smiled as he clenched his fist.

"With pleasure."

Finn and Ryan slowly stepped backward while Kael and Simon stepped forward with their weapons ready and powers activated. They stood opposite Karen and Luther, who looked more than ready to tear them apart, while Evelyn remained behind them.

Karen stomped his foot against the floor.

Immediately, ice burst through the ground and rapidly crept toward them.

Simon stomped his foot against the floor as well, sending powerful wind cracking through the ground. The wind shattered the incoming ice as the two powers clashed violently, though the impact still forced Simon backward.

Kael, meanwhile, continued following Ryan’s voice inside his mind.

He swept into the air and threw his staff toward Luther.

Luther clenched his fist and sent massive rocks flying toward Kael. While Kael dodged the attacks, his staff continued flying toward Luther.

Luther assumed the weapon was coming straight for him, so he caught it.

Then, using his super strength, he furiously crushed the staff into pieces.

Ryan smiled at the sight.

Almost immediately, red smoke began hovering around Luther.

"What the hell is this...?" Luther questioned in confusion as the smoke grew thicker around him, making it increasingly difficult to breathe.

While Luther struggled to free himself from the cloud surrounding him, Kael took the opportunity to attack.

He kicked Luther in the chest, stomach, and arms, forcing him to stagger backward repeatedly.

But just as Kael prepared to kick him in the face, Luther suddenly grabbed him by the leg.

He twisted Kael’s body and threw him flying through the air.

Ryan scoffed as he watched.

The red dust hadn’t affected Luther the way he expected.

Ryan slowly turned his attention toward Evelyn.

"I guess she does know her work..."

Meanwhile, Karen and Simon had taken their battle into the air.

Karen continuously sent waves of ice toward Simon while Simon desperately dodged them.

Simon’s wind attacks were growing weaker. His energy was becoming unstable as Karen effortlessly avoided most of his attacks before repeatedly using his ice to strike Simon.

Simon was hit hard.

He eventually crashed onto the ground, bruises increasing across his face as his body grew weaker.

Worried, Ryan turned toward Finn.

"I’m working on it..." Finn promised.

But nothing changed.

Simon continued fighting Karen and was endlessly beaten down to the point where it looked as though his energy was slowly disappearing.

Luther had also grown more aggressive.

Using his super strength, he continued wearing Kael down and beating him mercilessly. Every instruction Ryan gave Kael seemed useless. Even the weak points Ryan recommended attacking weren’t working.

Ryan’s eyes narrowed.

"She’s using a method..."

He stared at Evelyn.

And he needed to figure out exactly what that method was.

"Hang in there for a little longer..." Ryan said to Kael.

Kael was struggling to keep up with Luther, who continued beating him down, punching him through the air and sending him crashing against pillars and rocks.

Ryan stared at Evelyn for a while.

He watched as she closed her eyes while guiding her two teammates.

After observing her for a few moments, Ryan suddenly smiled.

"I thought as much..."

His smile widened.

"Silly tricks."

He opened his eyes and stared ahead.

Kael and Simon were still being beaten up, while Finn clearly wasn’t helping matters.

Ryan sighed.

"If you want something done, do it yourself."

He stared directly at Simon and closed his eyes.

The moment he opened them again, he instantly synced with Simon.

Ryan forcefully broke the thin guiding connection between Finn and Simon and replaced it with his own.

Finn was only an F-rank Guide, so the connection was easy for Ryan to maneuver.

But the sudden break caused Finn to gasp.

Blood dripped from his lips.

An instant disconnection like that sent pain through his body, causing him to stagger slightly.

Finn immediately turned toward Ryan.

Ryan casually winked at him with a smile.

"I’ve got this."

Ryan closed his eyes again and calmed his nerves.

"Now relax."

His guiding energy immediately flowed toward Simon, stabilizing his chaotic energy.

Simon, who had been lying on the ground, suddenly opened his eyes.

It felt as though he had been reborn.

A powerful rush of energy surged through his veins.

At that moment, Simon’s eyes turned pale white.

A tornado began forming around him.

Kael paused in the middle of his fight to stare at him.

So did everyone else.

The wind rapidly grew heavier. Rocks began flying through the atmosphere as violent gusts brushed against their faces, forcing everyone to cover themselves.

"What the hell is that...?" Karen demanded as they watched Simon slowly rise to his feet.

Ryan smiled, his eyes open.

"Now do your work."

Simon casually raised his hand and took control of the wind surrounding him, bringing every violent current into unison.

A massive tornado formed around him as the others struggled to keep their footing.

Simon slowly looked up at Karen.

Then, with a single finger pointed in his direction, the entire tornado rushed toward him in a massive attack.

It exploded through the atmosphere with a thunderous blast.
