[BL] Oops! Guiding The F Class Villain Esper Gone Wrong!
Chapter 48: NOT INTERESTEDChapter 48: 48: NOT INTERESTED
The next day at the cafeteria, June, Finn, and Ryan sat together at a table, quietly eating their lunch.
The surrounding tables were packed with students, yet no one bothered sitting with the academy’s three F-Rank Guides. June didn’t seem to care in the slightest.
Finn was only sitting there because the other tables were already occupied by higher-ranked students who clearly didn’t want him around either.
So he silently joined his roommates at the corner table, eating his meal while reading a book at the same time.
Ryan glanced at June, noticing how he kept looking left and right every few seconds.
"Why do you keep looking around like you stole the food?" he asked.
June lowered his voice. "I’m just waiting for that little brat to show up from somewhere. I’m being cautious."
Ryan chuckled. "I’d call that dedication. Why don’t you just consider him? Honestly, the two of you would make a pretty cute pair."
June slowly turned to him with wide eyes, looking as though Ryan had just suggested sacrificing himself to a demon.
"Never. If you want to see me stay alive, don’t ever ship me with him. Draw the yaoi fantasy line right there."
As June turned around to check whether Nyx was nearby, he found Simon standing directly in front of him instead.
Two boys stood behind Simon. His former followers had apparently failed the academy recruitment, leaving only Kael, the red-haired guy, by his side.
June guessed Kael had forced his way into Simon’s circle after losing his own group to the examination, though Simon himself never seemed interested in gangs.
June raised an eyebrow. "What? Did your parents send you over to say hello again?"
Silence. Kael frowned.
"Watch your mouth. You should be grateful Young Master Simon even bothered coming to talk to someone like you. Learn some manners."
June looked him up and down before replying without missing a beat. "Hey, Mr. Ketchup Hair, if you’re so happy to see your new boss, why don’t the two of you just get married already? It’s not like I’m interested."
The cafeteria fell silent. Everyone stared. Wasn’t this the same June who used to chase Simon around everywhere? The same person who would do practically anything just to get Simon’s attention?
They couldn’t tell whether he was putting on another act or whether he had genuinely moved on.
Kael clenched his fists. "You—"
Simon stopped him before calmly looking back at June. "Are you free after school? There’s something I’d like to discuss with you."
"No."
"You haven’t even heard what it is."
"I don’t need to."
Simon remained patient. "What are you busy with?"
"Applying skincare."
Silence settled over the table. Kael looked ready to explode. "The audacity—"
Simon interrupted him again. "Then how about now? Are you free?"
"No."
He looked Simon straight in the eye. "I’m always busy."
"Busy doing what?"
"Existing."
Before Simon could respond, Nyx walked into the cafeteria.
From a distance, he had spotted Simon standing beside June, and his expression immediately darkened. Without hesitation, he walked straight between them, forcing Simon to take half a step back.
The surrounding students immediately started whispering.
"This F-Rank..."
"Did he just interrupt Simon?"
Kael looked completely stunned. "How dare you interrupt Young Master Simon like that?"
Everyone was equally shocked.
Nyx barely spoke to anyone and never involved himself in unnecessary conflicts. Yet here he was, publicly stepping between Simon and June without the slightest hesitation.
Even June looked up at him in disbelief.
"You again...?"
Nyx maintained his usual serious expression as he placed a huge takeaway bag on the table in front of June.
"I wasn’t sure what you’d like today," he explained. "So... I bought everything."
June looked inside. The bag was overflowing with snacks.
The whispers around them grew louder.
"I heard he’s trying to pair with June."
"Again?"
"Those two are definitely heading toward an embarrassing failure."
"They really think they can fool everyone twice?"
"They’re going to get exposed this time."
Simon quietly watched the scene unfold without saying a word. After a moment, his gaze shifted past June and landed on Finn.
"Let’s talk."
With that, Simon turned and walked away.
Finn quietly closed his book, stood up, and followed after him.
Kael glanced back before leaving as well.
"Pathetic F-Ranks."
As he walked past Ryan, he noticed Ryan looking at him.
"What are you staring at, weirdo?"
Ryan blinked.
Kael scoffed and shoved both hands into his pockets before following Simon.
Once they were gone, Nyx looked back at June expectantly.
"So..." He hesitated. "Will you accept them?"
June nodded immediately. "Yes."
Nyx’s eyes brightened. "So... you’ll pair with me?"
"No."
Nyx lowered his head. "..."
———
Despite the rejection, Nyx didn’t give up.
If anything, he became even more determined to convince June to become his partner, and June was beginning to suffer because of that persistence.
How was he supposed to avoid the villain when the villain’s greatest goal seemed to be getting closer to him?
Later that afternoon, the students gathered at the outdoor training grounds dressed in their academy practice uniforms, each color representing their respective ranks.
The instructors moved around after demonstrating different combat techniques, correcting students’ forms while supervising the practical session.
Most students who had already chosen partners trained together.
The academy encouraged paired Espers and Guides to spend as much time together as possible before the compatibility evaluation, believing that teamwork and familiarity could improve their synchronization.
Simon and Finn were among those practicing together.
Their coordination was so smooth and natural that many students couldn’t help stopping to admire them.
"They’re definitely getting the highest compatibility score."
"Of course. Simon’s an S-Rank. First place is practically guaranteed."
A girl folded her arms.
"I’m only worried because of that low-ranked Finn. He’ll probably be the one dragging Simon down."
Another student shook her head.
"Still better than whatever those two F-Ranks are trying to pull."
Several girls laughed before looking toward June.
"Exactly. At least Simon has a chance. Imagine two F-Ranks pairing together."
June rolled his eyes. He honestly couldn’t care less what they were saying. His real problem was standing several meters away. Nyx.
For over an hour now, Nyx had been standing quietly at the edge of the training grounds, watching him with unwavering focus, as though June might disappear the moment he looked away.
