’I gave Hermes the Sinkiller because I believed in his hands it would be enough to kill just about anybody.’

Aria thought.

It was one of the Mythic Weapons that she acquired from Hacker Jack after killing him. It had been in her possession ever since.

A few days before the raid, she gave it to Hermes.

’Sinkiller, even if it’s an insanely overpowered weapon, has its limitations. The game developers made it so that there are things you cannot reality manipulate.

’I don’t know its true limit, but it is about time I find out.’

Hermes thought.

Then, the Sinkiller grimoire glowered, and a little ball appeared in his hand. He weighed it in his hand.

’I tried summoning a much bigger ball, but I only managed to conjure a smaller one. I cannot summon anything that is over my own mass.’

Hermes thought.

’Aria told me that I can do things like cover an entire area in a poisonous gas, but I am quite certain that it is a quite limited area.

’Perhaps not an entire city, but definitely a single building.’

Hermes thought.

"Sinkiller. I’ve heard about it from Jack after his death. Apparently you have to be touching the Sinkiller grimoire if you want to use its reality-manipulating abilities.

"Therefore..."

James grinned and hurled himself through the air with the Blade in hand.

Hermes opened a page in the Sinkiller and summoned a powerful whirlwind that tore through the street.

It slammed into James and sent him flying back where he came from.

’I was only able to summon as much wind as there was in the nearby area. I tried blasting James to hell, but sadly, not enough wind was available for the task.

’That’s still fine. It is still rather windy weather. At worst case, I would’ve done nothing but rustle his hair.’

Hermes thought.

James punched through an entire building, and then he slashed through the air with the Blade like he was trying to attack something invisible.

In that moment.

Everything around him started to get cut, and one of the invisible slashes came for Hermes at speed that was impossible to dodge.

However.

Hermes, with his Read, was immediately able to tell the trajectory of the invisible slash, and he was already moving to the side before James even finished his attack.

Almost like he was seeing the future!

The invisible slash grazed past him and slammed into a building, causing it to be split in two halves.

"We don’t have much time, Hermes!"

Aria shouted.

’Time for what?’

James frowned.

"...Very well then."

Hermes said.

The Sinkiller flipped open. It flew through the pages as if it had a mind of its own. It then landed at one of the spells.

The spell on the page was currently being rewritten by a mysterious hand. A new spell was being added to the book!

It was Hermes adding a quick new spell.

"Come forth, the men and women of Moon. Luna’s, Cynthia’s, Selene’s, Hermes’ and Artemis’. Come forth!"

In that moment, men and women jumped out of the Sinkiller. All having the famous white hair of the Moon Family.

The men looked like Hermes. The women looked like female versions of Hermes. They glided across the air as if they were as light as a feather.

"White Chains!"

Hermes shot his hand forward, and white chains poured out of the palm of his hand and wrapped around James’ leg.

James lifted, planning to use the Blade to cut through it, but then the men and women of the Moon also used "White Chains" and wrapped James in place.

Hermes jumped forward, appeared in front of James, and whacked him across the face with the back of his head.

"Urgh!"

James’ head snapped to the side with a slight taste of blood filling his mouth, but then he just grinned and looked back at Hermes.

"Is that all you got? Cut the chains to pieces!"

He ordered to the Blade, and the Blade didn’t move as it was bound in place, but still, the White Chains got hacked to tiny pieces.

James grabbed Hermes by his throat, lifted him off the ground, and immediately tried breaking his neck.

But then...

The "Hermes" that James grabbed started to fade away like a ghost. In its place, a bomb with a mass equivalent to Hermes appeared.

It beeped for a second and then exploded!

BOOM~!

"Aaaaaaargh!"

James flew towards the gateway with his clothes burning and his skin blistering. The explosion actually hurt him!

His health bar also decreased significantly, and it was actually the first time that showed that James could actually be killed!

’The gateway... I must get away from it!’

James thought and forcefully stopped his flight and tried moving away from the gateway, but at that moment...

Hermes appeared in front of him. He slammed the Sinkiller grimoire shut. All the spells that he had done dissipated.

All the men and women of the Moon clan disappeared.

"SPACE LOCK!"

Hermes tossed the Sinkiller away, summoned his actual grimoire, and pointed his right hand towards James.

The Space Lock that was covering the entire floor came crashing down on James. It surrounded him and bound him in place!

"Argh!"

James struggled against the Space Lock, as he couldn’t move a muscle, like he was encased in a solid block of ice.

"Are you stupid? You’re focusing this spell only on me to stop me from moving, but what about the rest?

"They can now teleport freely!"

James shouted angrily.

"I already communicated with my disciple via telepathy. I told her to use her Space Lock to make sure that none of the other hackers can escape."

Hermes said.

’He thought this far... Shit, I have to escape, but... I can’t move my body!’

James screamed angrily inside his own mind.

However, then he noticed that Hermes wasn’t making another move, because it took all his strength to keep James trapped.

If he tried to do anything else, the Space Lock spell wouldn’t be enough to hold James back.

’That means... That woman...’

James thought and glanced over to Aria and believed that he was going to use her to push him inside the gateway.

’As soon as she tries to push me, I’ll just use the Blade to cut her down!’

James thought with a smile.

"You must be currently thinking that you will just use Blade to cut her, isn’t that right?"

Hermes said with a smile.

"Ah?"

James gasped.

"See where I am standing? I am just far enough from the range of your Blade weapon. So is Aria. During this fight, I’ve been examining your weapon.

"I realized its range is thirty meters. Anything beyond that, it cannot reach. All Mythic Weapons have limitations. I just had to find yours."

Hermes said.

"Haha... If you’re scared of coming to me... How can you push me to the gateway?"

James asked with a smile.

"...ARIA!"

Hermes shouted.

With a smile, Aria lifted her cane high towards the sky, and she started chanting something in an ancient language that echoed through the air.

"Ruker na Ajar’ne, vete narekso, oli rakoso marukanta!"

’What the hell is she doing?’

James frowned.

In that moment, a large shadow fell over him. He turned his gaze towards the source of the shadow.

At that moment, a massive hand grabbed him. The hand was so big that it completely enveloped his entire body.

"Y-you!"

James cried out as he saw Seonwoo Kim rising back from dead, grabbing him like he was nothing but an insect.

"Die, you bastard!"

She screamed, and she then hurled James through the air towards the gateway.

And then, everybody—Kerr, Rasmus, Raon, Grimson, Lock, and Super Max—grabbed James and started pushing him towards the gateway with all their remaining strength.

"You all... how..."

James looked surprised, and he then looked at Aria, who was smiling smugly.

It was the plan all along. The suicidal attack was a scam. This was the real plan to bring all them back from death.

"CUT THEM DOWN!"

James screamed.

The Blade’s invisible slashes came forth, but then Grimson kicked James close to the gateway while all of them dodged the slashes.

’They dodged the slashes? How? Last time I was able to kill them so easily. Could it be that they intentionally let themselves die?

’Just how much trust they do have in Hermes to go forward with such a plan? This is insane...’

James got sucked into the gateway. His legs went through first. Then, it was only his head remaining, but he suddenly stopped.

"I AM NOT LOSING!"

James screamed, and the Space Lock started breaking, and with gritted teeth, he started walking back out of the gateway.

He was literally inches away from Zero Floor, but in the last moment, James got another boost of strength!

"This bastard just doesn’t go down!"

Grimson screamed.

"..."

Hermes’s eyes turned heavy, and he let out a long sigh, and then, he suddenly started kicking the air, propelling himself forward.

Skydance!

"Hermes...?"

Aria called out to him, but he didn’t answer, as Hermes flew straight towards the gateway and James.

"G-Get away from me!"

James screamed and used Blade, and the invisible slash cut through Hermes.

The invisible slash exited from his back, leaving a very hard-to-look-at wound on his body, but Hermes did not stop.

"Argh!"

Hermes flew straight into the gateway, tackling James through it, but at the last moment, James grabbed his arm and pulled him inside with him.

The two men disappeared into the portal. The portal immediately closed. It just poofed into empty air.

"No... HERMES!"

Aria cried out.

It turned silent in the street. Everyone knew what this meant. Hermes was now stuck with James at the Zero Floor.

It meant guaranteed death.
