Stab~!
The black blade went through the boss’s head. Its health reached zero. The boss let out a final scream before collapsing to the ground.
"Whew."
Fang Raon looked satisfied, and then he pulled the black blade out of the boss’ skull and wiped the blood out of it.
In that moment.
The boss’ corpse disappeared, and the treasure chest appeared in its place, but without opening it just yet, Raon just tossed the items inside his inventory instead.
[Viewers: 178]
The chat was moving at a relatively quick pace. They had never seen the 17th floor being Solo Cleared before.
And honestly.
It even looked easy the way Fang Raon completely destroyed the boss without even really getting a scratch on him.
In that moment.
Stairs descended from the ceiling, and Raon quickly walked up them and then stepped through the glowing door.
[18th Floor]
Fang Raon appeared in the middle of a city. It was a different city from other cities in the Black Online that he had seen.
There were countless stairs zigzagging all around the city. There were many different levels of the city. All the streets were narrow and tight.
It would be impossible to drive any carriages in here because there really wasn’t any streets—it was just a city with all the buildings tightly packed next to each other like sardines in a can.
The ’streets’ were basically just narrow alleyways that only a few people at one time could fit through, and stairs—so many stairs—that went up and down.
Some stairs led to the roofs of buildings, and people had to walk on roofs to get to their destinations.
It was a really strange place.
’This is the 18th floor, huh.’
Fang Raon thought.
In that moment, he saw some wanted posters on the walls—it was of a Ranger—the wanted poster had the name "Rasmus" written on it.
’Rasmus Seider. I do remember that he used to be on the 18th floor, lurking outside the city walls, killing all the players that he came across.
’He was the main reason why so many players didn’t get to the 19th floor in a long time—that was the days before Dead Redemption, though.
’I guess he still made a big enough mark on the city that there are still wanted posters of him in here.’
Fang Raon thought.
[NepoBaby: I’ve heard rumors about the 18th floor. Apparently there have been a lot of Player Killings happening there lately. The exact thing is apparently happening as with Rasmus many years ago]
"Is that so?"
Fang Raon saw the message in his chat window and then looked at the wanted poster of Rasmus and asked.
"With the Dead Redemption disbanded, could there be a chance that Rasmus returned here? And is doing the exact same thing as before?"
[LadyBelle: Why would he do such a thing?]
[IckIckIrk: Because he’s a psychopath. If Rasmus is really doing the same thing again, it will be really hard to get to the 19th floor. You can’t even see him, and then you just die suddenly!]
[Uruquay: I’ve heard that Rasmus can shoot an apple from a thousand meters away]
"That’s indeed troublesome."
Fang Raon said.
"...There is a magic show happening over at the Noir Rooftop. Let’s go watch!"
"...Yeah!"
In that moment, he heard nearby players talk about some "magic show" and saw them run down the stairs.
It looked like lots of players and locals were heading that way as well.
’Magic show?’
Out of curiosity, Fang Raon followed them, and since the alleyways were so narrow and twisty, he almost got lost multiple times.
He had to use Read to sense the presences of the two players ahead so he wouldn’t lose the sight of them.
In that moment, he walked up the stairs and arrived at the "Noir Rooftop" and saw a group of people gathered.
There really wasn’t much of a stage for magic shows. It was just a box. And a man with a top hat was standing on top of the box.
"Hello, everyone. I am Magician, known as the Great Roudini. I’ve done these magic shows all around the tower, and now I am here.
"Do you all want to see some magic?!"
Great Roudini asked.
The crowd clapped. The kids were cheering excitedly. The players were skeptical but curious.
All of them had seen magic, as there literally was a mage class that could do all sorts of magic, so they doubted anything could impress them.
Great Roudini flicked his sleeve, and out of nowhere, a black wand appeared in his hand—the wand looked fake.
It looked like the wand wasn’t made of the wood like all the other Mage wands, but instead of plastic.
"With my first act..."
Great Roudini removed the top hat from his head, and then pointed his wand at the hat and did some circles in the air.
"Come out!"
Great Roudini shouted, and at that moment, two hands appeared from the inside of the hat, and they grabbed the edge of the hat.
Then.
Those hands were followed by a head, then a torso, and finally the rest of the body as a full-sized person emerged from the hat.
"Welcome, my beautiful assistant!"
A beautiful woman in a rabbit suit emerged. She let out a lovely smile. She then did a graceful curtsy.
"Whoah!"
The crowd clapped, and even the players flashed a look of amazement for a second, and they also clapped.
’Teleportation magic? It can’t be. Did Great Roudini make her into a tiny person and then make her bigger to give the illusion that he pulled her out of the hat?’
Fang Raon thought of several possibilities.
"Great Roudini. His magic tricks are even trickery to me. I just don’t know how he does any of his tricks, and I’ve seen his show like four times by now."
At that moment, someone walked next to him. It was a familiar voice. Raon looked next to him with a look of surprise.
"You... Why are you..."
Xiao Yue turned at him with a smile. It was a fake smile. Her eyes curled like a crescent moon, looking slightly angry even.
"You haven’t accepted my friend request."
