Blood Primordial: Start With S-Rank Blood Dragon Bloodline
Chapter 43: Final Beast WaveMax was lying on the walls; his breathing was still calm, but the aura around him was completely different. Even from the outside, he hadn’t changed a bit, but only the people around him would truly feel the terrifying, oppressive aura of slaughter surrounding him.
Over these three days, Max had killed more than a thousand beasts. Such an enormous number of kills would affect anyone.
Max now unknowingly releases a terrifying, bloody aura that isn’t for the battlefield and would make others uncomfortable just by standing close to him.
Other bloodline awakeners also killed many, but most of them killed at most a few hundred at most, not like him, who even after three days of continuous hell, was still able to have the strength to fight for more.
Andrew, Mathew, or the mercenary from the Shadow Wolf mercenaries were barely able to survive by helping each other, but they were at the moment at the end of their strength. Their minds and bodies were both at the point of breaking.
And this was the case for most who survived until now.
They had endured countless battles, watched companions die beside them, and fought beasts until their weapons were stained completely red with blood.
Every person still standing had possessed an extraordinary will to survive.
That determination was the only reason they had managed to endure this living nightmare for so long.
But even the strongest will has its limits. And after three days of continuous slaughter, everyone was beginning to reach their end.
Not to mention the number of defenders had reduced a lot, and less than 40% of the people were left to guard the city. Almost all of the rogue mercenaries and travellers had lost their lives, with only a few lucky ones, like the two brothers or the shadow wolf mercenary, barely surviving.
Max’s performance during the battle cannot be hidden; although he tried to hide his best, his brilliance cannot be hidden.
Every noble family felt interested in him, and many approached him, but they weren’t like the cocky servant from the Silverblade family, but he declined them calmly using the ’this is not the right time’ excuse.
No one from the Silverblade family came. Max could feel that the young master Ethan wouldn’t let it go easily.
And just as Max expected, Ethan’s expression was filled with displeasure and anger. He had never expected that Max would attract so much attention. Because of so much attention, he could not attack Max and could only watch him become famous.
What made Ethan even more frustrated was Max’s performance during the beast tide.
Even Ethan himself had been forced to fight several battles during these three days. Although he possessed numerous potions and extraordinary equipment, he was still feeling exhausted.
Yet Max, who had nothing but the equipment of an ordinary rogue awakener, still seemed to have energy left. It was almost unbelievable.
"How could someone have such terrifying endurance and unlimited energy?" He murmured, as this only made him hate Max even more.
How can a peasant without a background and power have such talents? He wanted to destroy him, as he shouldn’t have such talent.
"The commoners only deserve to be slaves of the nobles and nothing more," Ethan said in a cold voice as he looked at Max. He needed to do something and could not wait any longer and decided the next wave would be the time to attack.
After three days of battle, they noticed something different about the aura of madness around the Myriad Beast mountains, which seemed to have reached its peak. And it seemed they had at last reached the final stage of the Beast Tide.
But although the battle is reaching its final stages, these last moments are the most dangerous ones.
The old commander appeared at the top of the city walls, and then his voice rang throughout the battlefield.
"This may be the final wave of the Beast Tide."
His voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable seriousness within it. "However, don’t become careless."
Everyone raised their heads and looked toward him.
"You have fought for three days."
"You are exhausted beyond your limits. Your bodies are injured, your minds are tired, and many of your comrades, brothers, and friends have already fallen."
The old commander paused. "But you are still standing."
His voice suddenly became louder.
"You are the survivors! You are the strongest and bravest people who endured this hell!"
"Therefore, don’t fall here. Go beyond your limits and fight with everything you have."
"Survive this final battle!"
His voice echoed across the entire city. "After this battle, you will become the true heroes that defeated the Beast Tide!"
The old commander’s voice seemed to contain mysterious energy, and it instantly ignited everyone’s will to survive this final ordeal.
Then someone raised their weapon.
"Kill!"
Another voice followed.
"Kill!"
Soon, countless voices erupted from the city wall.
"Kill!"
"Kill!"
"Kill!"
The roar of thousands of survivors shook the heavens. And from the other side, the final beast’s waves with the most numbers of beasts came out from the myriad Beast Mountains.
The entire southern region seemed to be trembling as the last waves of beasts came crashing towards human lands.
Max held his spear, which, after thousands of kills, seemed to have turned red with blood and even seemed to emit a crimson bloody aura.
His spear mastery had transformed into a brilliant art of slaughter after the three days of grinding hell. He could now control spears like they were extensions of his arms without a single wasted movement, perfect for facing multiple enemies.
He was in the most perfect condition and ready to face beasts.
Boom!
The beasts collided once again with the walls, but this time the impact was so great that countless cracks appeared on this hundreds-of-years-old unbreakable wall.
Numerous beasts climbed the walls, and the final battle began. Max thrust his spear like lightning, striking fast and brutally precise, killing multiple beasts within a second.
