The team was surrounded by several worm-like beasts, all a dark earthy warm brown color, and with several tiny nubs for legs. None of the creatures had eyes, aside from two antennas at the top, and their mouths didn’t have any teeth. Although they were capable of defeating them with ease as they weren’t very particularly offensive creatures, they had to restrain their strength.

It would come off as suspicious if a pair of level 2s and a single "level 5" were able to take on a whole bunch of intermediate beasts, especially since Erin couldn’t use her ice ability.

One of the dracuns lunged at Erin, a sickly green liquid oozing out of it. Erin side stepped it, but before it could reach Layla who was right behind her, Erin thrust her rapier into the beast’s side, pinning it to the ground.

Layla took a step back to try to get some distance, only to accidentally bump into another beast. The tiniest bit of green ooze touched her back, and a tingly sensation followed.

Twisting around, Layla placed an arrow into her bow, and fired it at the beast, flinging it back several feet. Even though it was a normal arrow, the power of a king tier beast weapon was just that strong.

Suddenly, Layla’s eyes began watering as she was midway through firing another arrow.

’What’s wrong with my vision?!’ She thought, as the arrow flew past the dracun. She blinked away the tears, and fired again, this time with a successful shot.

However, another dracun a bit further away sneezed at her, creating a thicker glob of green mucus on her arm.

"Ew, gross, gross!" Layla cringed, trying to wipe it off.

She could actively feel her reaction time become sluggish, and her eyes grow irritated. In that moment, one of the dracuns stretched its body to wrap around hers, and tightened its grip, trapping her arms. Layla tried to push herself out using her strength but it just wasn’t enough.

In a moment of desperation, Layla slammed her teeth into the beast, and tore off a piece of its flesh. It tasted absolutely disgusting, but the pain to the beast made it squirm, giving Layla enough wiggle room to free her arms and fire another arrow into the beast’s head.

The dracun fell limp, but before she could deal with the others in front of her, a pair of strings wrapped themselves around the beasts, and Fex slammed them into the ground.

"Wow, that definitely looks like puke," Fex commented, gesturing to the mucus.

Layla was about to respond, but the tingly feeling of a rising sneeze interrupted her, and she blew her nose into her elbow.

"Eugh," Layla groaned as a trail of snot came out of her face.

Fex stifled some laughter, but then an arrow whizzed past his ear, impaling another beast partway into shooting the mucus on him.

"There now we’re even," Layla said.

From the sides, Jessica and the teleportation ability user were watching the ongoing commotion. Although the boy’s eyes were watery, and mucus was coming out of his nose. The boy coughed violently into his elbow, and turned to Jessica.

"Why did it have to be those beasts?" He asked nasally.

"For the same exact reason why you’re coughing so badly," Jessica replied, "Anyways, shut your coughing up, it’s noisy."

The teleportation ability user stared at her, but wiped away the mess on his face. It wasn’t like he could go against her, he was only a level 4 without any beast gear, and she had more backing than him.

’It’s not enough that I should succeed, others should fall,’ Jessica thought, ’But they’re defeating the beasts pretty quickly, strangely enough. I may have to join in myself.’

Erin thrust her paleneedle rapier into one of the dracuns, yanked it out, then thrusted it again a few more times creating a series of holes.

’It’s a shame it doesn’t add to my blood bank,’ Erin thought.

After she had came back from the tunnels, one of the things she had done was heal herself. This had came at a massive cost to her blood bank, and although she could’ve dranken from Fex’s flask, she just hadn’t had the opportunity to yet.

3 more dracuns surrounded her. She twisted around her blade slashing across all of their torsos, but right as her feet were planted firmly on the ground, two of the beasts sneezed at her.

Instinctively, Erin raised her arms, blocking the mucus from landing on her face.

At first, she was worried it would affect her, but upon closer inspection, didn’t seem to do anything.

[When it comes into contact with skin, the body will suddenly act as if it had symptoms commonly found in colds within seconds. Can also decrease reaction speed]

It likely didn’t have an affect on her as the armor was waterproof. Logan made sure of that. So long as she didn’t get it on the top half of her face, she was good.

Erin charged at one of the dracuns with her rapier, then did so again with the remaining 2 around her.

At that moment, a large, fleshy dried pink beast with red spikes trailing along its body fired its head like a projectile into Erin’s shoulder. 4 pitch black teeth that looked more like claws pierced her skin, and held on tight.

Erin grabbed the beast’s head, and yanked it off. This beast looked to be far different from all the other teleported beasts as on its back, there was a leather jacket as well as a split tail with pink boots on them, so she used her inspect skill once again.

[Ability: bloodworm transformation]

’This is a person?’ Erin initially thought.

However, when looking at the monster more closely, the split tail were more like a pair of deformed legs barely holding onto those pink boots, and the same could be said for the leather jacket with the tiny arms. Since she was only level 5, Jessica couldn’t do a full transformation just yet.

Jessica’s head recoiled back into the rest of her near limbless form, and Erin eyed her, hand hovering one of her swords.

’If she isn’t a beast, then she can bleed human blood.’
