Blood Queen Reborn

Due to the fact that Quinn and Vorden appeared holding a strange stoney box, people kept stealing glances at them wondering what was inside. Del hadn’t noticed just yet thanks to the tall grass, but he would soon enough if given enough time. Not only that, but the open grass area would make it hard to give Layla enough privacy to eat without someone walking nearby.

’This is all so tiresome,’ Erin thought. If only she could just place Layla in some sort of shadow space and have her eat without prying eyes.

"Hold on, I have an idea," Vorden said, glancing at the box, "We should head to the edge of the radius, and I’ll tell you guys more about it."

They nodded, and headed as out of sight of everyone as possible.

Del scowled as he watched Erin’s team go.

’Can’t seem to get rid of them, nor get back at them,’ he thought, then looked at his watch, ’And we’re behind schedule too. I knew I shouldn’t have asked them for the time...’

Even though they could’ve left the radius of the scanners, Vorden stuck to the edge of it, and there was a reason behind this action. He began whispering to them the details of his plan, and what they were going to do.

Just then, Vorden felt a tug at the box, like someone was trying to lift it out of his arms remotely.

They all turned around, and spotted a student with light gray hair covering their eyes trying to use telekinesis on the box. Their watch stated a level 1.5, which meant that despite them actively using their ability, Vorden was strong enough to keep his grip on the box.

The student looked startled that they were caught, and was about to run off, but then tripped on their own feet. At the same time, Layla took a slow, deliberate step towards the kid, and felt the teeth inside of her mouth sharpen. A violent aura emanated off of her, and the telekinesis user stared up in fear.

"I swear! I was just curious at what was inside!" The student cried.

Layla’s fingers flexed, and the vivid image of tearing into the person who dared steal her food kept replaying in her mind.

Right as she was about to act, Erin grabbed Layla’s shoulder, and pulled her back.

They both felt that same headache as they made physical contact, but Erin pushed through the pain, and dragged Layla behind her.

"Stay," Erin commanded, and Layla was reminded to restrain herself.

The telekinesis user scrambled up to their feet and ran off, not wanting to deal with whatever was going on with Erin’s team.

With that dealt with, Erin turned to the others, "Did you do it yet?"

The box was planted firmly on the ground, and it appeared that Quinn had done something to the soil around it as it was missing grass, like someone dug up the ground around it then put the dirt back.

"It’s done," Quinn said.

"Good," Erin said, then turned to Fex and Layla, "Remember this spot, and make sure Layla doesn’t run off."

Fex smirked, and saluted, "On it boss."

Meanwhile, Layla sat on the ground and dug her fingernails into the soil. She needed to distract herself before she found herself doing something she’d regret later.

After a few minutes, Del heard there wasn’t any more beeping sounds, and sent a signal indicating for everyone to come back. Unlike the previous spots, there weren’t that many things to scan so they didn’t stick around for long.

Erin, Vorden, and Quinn walked along with the class, leaving Fex and Layla behind. As much as Erin didn’t want to do that, she had to trust that they would be fast enough to return.

’Please be safe Layla,’ she quietly thought.

As the class was moving to their next spot, Jessica glared at Erin’s team, and scoffed by the lack of punishment they had yet to receive.

"How are they just walking around without a care in the world," she muttered to one of her teammates.

The boy next to him was the teleportation ability user, and his face was bright red and swollen from earlier. All she could hear from him were faint muffles and murmurs.

"Exactly, and they’ve recovered so quickly too," Jessica scoffed, "Well, not if I have anything to say about that."

While Del wasn’t looking, Jessica activated her jacket’s strength boost, and threw a handful of the dracun mucus at Erin as hard as she could. However, instead of getting hit like she expected her to, Erin had conveniently paused to look at the sky, completely avoiding it all together.

Jessica stomped her foot, ’Damn it! That was the last of it too!’

Quinn had noticed just what Jessica did, and even though Erin purposely dodged the attack, he decided to retaliate by changing the ground they were about to step on into mud. By shifting his foot, Jessica’s team had slipped and fell into a puddle of mud.

"AAAHHH! Teacher, teacher!" Jessica cried out as she pointed at Quinn, "He made me fall into the mud!"

Immediately, Del twisted his head to the boy in question with an unamused expression.

"Did you cause this young lady to trip into mud?" Del sternly spoke.

"Its a naturally muddy planet, sir," Quinn calmly replied. He had this answer readied.

One of the students near Quinn recognized him as one of the people who had saved her from getting eaten by the purple beasts, and decided to speak up.

"He’s right, this planet is naturally muddy," She replied, "It did rain only yesterday."

Del glared at the student who spoke up, and recognized her as the pink haired girl with the healing ability. Not wanting to get on the bad side of the only healer in the entire class, he dropped the subject, and continued walking.

Given that it was enough time for more people to notice just what Vorden was carrying, he decided to start the next step of his plan.

By purposely tripping over a non existent rock, Vorden dropped the stone box, causing the lid to fall off, revealing a few dozen balls of compressed dirt.

"Oh no!" Quinn slammed his hands into his face in exaggerated shock, overdoing it, "I was going to use that as ammo!"

The students who were once interested in what was inside of the stone box, now looked away, disappointed that they got their hopes up. It was merely boring dirt, nothing more.

At the same time Erin received a system message, Layla was all the way back at the grassy plain area they once were. She was currently with Fex safely eating the leg without a single witness around.
