But inside the lower section of the ruin, Atlas found a sealed relic called the Bloodbound Codex. The Codex does not give him power directly. It lets him WRITE his own growth. Monster blood can also be absorbed by the Stylus, and certain monsters leave behind Traits that Atlas can permanently assimilate. Because of this, ruins become important to him.
