Breeding System:My Five Beast Husbands Want Heirs
Chapter 199: Back to the beginningThe mist shifted into a different scenery, one that occurred a short while after that one.
People searched for the beast cub, the mother and his fathers, every other person in the tribe, no body had noticed when he was gone nor if he had gone with someone and Hye Yang pretended to be worried too. This was until somebody pointed out that they saw the fox beast cub with one of the tribe chief’s daughters and he did not know which one it was.
That scared Hye Yang, she did not want to be caught so she did something unspeakable. She went on a hunt, killed an animal and laced it with fox scent and fur till it reeked of the scent of the missing cub. Then she lured her sister, Mira Yang, to the spot that the killed the animal laid on.
Of course, as usual, little Mira was a gullible and dumb as always and followed her sister’s ’map to the surprise’ Hye Yang had in stall for her and when she got there, she saw the wounded animal.
Mira felt her head pound at the scenery from the mist. Memories from that time forced its way into her head all at once and it felt painful.
She could not understand why. These memories obviously belonged to the old owner of this body yet it seemed like it had disappeared from the old Mira’s head when this current Mira transmigrated.
It was one thing to not remember this aspect of the past, but it was surely another to watch it through the lenses of someone else’s memories and Mira could not help but wonder where this was leading. She could not help but wonder if these memories of Hye Yang played a key role to something that she was about to find out.
Mira put a hand on her head, she felt dizzy by the hazy memories that plagued her mind. Ming Tao noticed and looked at her. "Are you okay?" He asked.
Mira nodded. "Yes. I think it’s just the baby." Mira lied, she could not tell him that she was getting visions of her past through the mist, it would sound odd, maybe.
"Do you want to sit? I can have that arranged for you so you rest." Ming Tao offered. Mira shook her head instantly and held his arm tighter to stop him from going.
"No, I’m fine. I prefer standing." Mira did not know why she did not just ask him the question that plagued her mind when he offered her to seat, but with so much magic roaming the air, she did not want to move and be affected by it, not when she was carrying a life in her stomach.
Ming Tao let out an exhale. "If you need to sit or be more comfortable, do not hesitate to tell me." He said to Mira. Mira smiled then nodded.
"You know I always say my mind." She stated. Ming Tao narrowed his gaze and raised a brow but he did not say a word. He just refocused his attention forward when he knew that she was doing okay. Mira wanted to question what that look meant but now was not the time for it, she had memories to watch and memories to remember too.
Mira looked at the mist. She was little Mira run to the wounded animal and kneel before it. Little Mira touched it, felt it. The wound was fresh so she knew this animal had just been slaughtered but it was butchered so badly that it could not be distinguished by what beast it exactly was but from the size of it, the animal looked like a growing one that had not yet matured.
The blood from the dead animal stained Mira’s hands and feet and she brought her nose closer to sniff it when she caught on a scent that nearly made her barf. Fox. This dead animal butchered so unsightly smelled like fox. . . . Like one of their own.
Mira’s heart raced in her chest and fear immediately clouded her eyes. The current Mira remembered this moment in bits. She felt the fear the old owner of this body had at that moment but she could not remember the thoughts. The little Mira from the mist wanted to scream but that was when fox beast people came from all around the bush she was at.
And Hye Yang was present in their midst too. Hye Yang caught sight of Mira first and she screamed so loudly in horror that it attracted the attention of everyone.
"Oh my days, Mira Yang, what have you done?!!" Hye Yang blurted out. Her face was phased with pretense fear as she pointed her hand forward. Every fox person at every part of the bushes stared at Mira and the first thing they saw was the dead animal and her blood stained hands and feet. Then her blood stained hair and nose.
Little Mira immediately grasped what was happening and wanted to defend herself. "No, it’s not what it looks like, I came here and found-" Mira was saying when she got interrupted by a voice.
"Is that not the cub we have been looking for? The air reeks of the blood of a young fox."
The fox people began to walk closer to Mira and the more they walked, the denser the dead animal’s blood scented in the air.
"Oh, my goodness, that poor fox." Another person yelled.
Soon, a lot of fox beast people surrounded Mira.
"How could someone do such a thing?!"
"Quick, call the tribal chief and look for the boy’s mother!"
"That is so cruel."
"You cannot even tell the body parts apart. And this was done by a child??!!"
"She is so evil."
"I cannot believe someone would do such a thing to their own kind!"
"Is that not the first daughter?"
"I heard she brutally murdered a harmless animal before too."
The murmurs of the fox beast people around Mira got louder and soon, their words got filled with curses and the adults present told the fox kits to stay away from Mira.
This issue escalated quickly and hearing numerous accusations of so many people point fingers at her and accuse her made little Mira nearly lose her mind. She tried to speak but her voice was overshadowed by the noise in the environment. It was in that chaos that Mira sighted Hye Yang.
Hye Yang. . . . Her own blood sister that she loved with everything in her had told her to come to this exact location to see a prize. And that same sister was the one who yelled and called for people’s attention in the first place.
That same sister was not telling anyone that this must have been a coincidence and that Mira was here because she told her to come here, no. . . that sister was in the crowd and she had a grin on her face. . . .
Little Mira’s eyes widened as the realisation hit her even harder. This had been planned and the one who planned it was the same one who had invited her. The same one she cared about so deeply. Her own sister.
Watching this, current Mira’s hand clenched into a fist and she felt the end of her top lip raise. All she felt was cold, hard disgust and hatred for Hye Yang while watching this.
Hye Yang hated the old Mira and that was something this current Mira knew, Hye Yang also was the real demon of the forest and blamed it all on her sister, that was something this current Mira also knew long ago, but actually watching it with her own eyes made her blood boil.
The skulk did not even try to be logical in that situation. The adults immediately assumed that little Mira Yang was the culprit and told the pups and adolescent cubs and every other teenage and young adult foxes to stay away from Mira Yang. It was a reasonable thing to want to keep the cubs from harms way and telling them stay away, but these adults did not lift a finger to find out the truth. They just saw something right in front of them and accepted it.
It made current Mira’s jaw clench.
It did not take long till Mira’s birth parents were at the scene and the devastation that was on Mira’s mother’s face when she saw her own daughter knelt down before a dead animal that reeked of fox was not hidden.
It was written all over the vixen’s face that she had expected the rumour to be false and nothing but a rumour yet she had been proven wrong.
Mira’s birth dad was by her birth mother’s side and he too had a disdained look on his face.
"Mama. . . ." Mira called, her voice trembling as she shook her head in pure terror, the eyes harbouring the look of an innocent one being accused. "I did not do it."
