Mira swallowed. She thought so too, this entire feast was held for this sole purpose and it has already been delayed way too much for her not to achieve the reason it was hosted but Hye Yang running mad did not seem like a good equation in this regard. People still took her side, they could say that the reason she went mad was because we needed the truth to be hidden and without Hye Yang being sane, she could neither confirm it nor deny it so this was a hard decision to make considering the end result could be a maybe.

"Mira. . ." Ming Tao called softly. "What should the shaman do? Tell me, and I will give him the order this instant."

It took Mira a while to say a word. She did not know why but she felt an instant pressure as that question hit her suddenly. It felt rushed and to her, this feeling of that question being raised felt stupid.

Maybe it was the sight of seeing someone mental that she did not want to witness first hand. Maybe deep down, she was afraid of what Hye Yang may do or become when she was mad if she was that horrible when she was sane, or maybe Mira did not want to be the reason behind the old owner of this body’s sister and running mad, she could not tell but one thing she knew was that she wanted to be free of the ruin that had bounded her to cruel stares and hatred all her life since she transmigrated into the beast world.

Mira swallowed, she took one careful look at Hye Yang then took another at the shaman before returning her gaze to Ming Tao. It was now or never and there was no way she would be as senseless as the old owner of this body towards someone as wicked and selfish as Hye Yang, especially when she was pregnant and had given birth to six cubs who were still alive and healthy.

"Proceed. Get every last truth out of her. In fact, I want to hear her speak it to everyone." Mira said to Ming Tao in a bold whisper.

The ends of Ming Tao’s lips curled into a subtle smile. He squeezed his hand which laid on Mira’s hip gently like he was giving her his approval. "I love you so much and I am so proud of you. You have chosen well." Ming Tao said to Mira.

No matter Mira’s answer, one way or the other, he would have gotten the truth out of Hye Yang using the shaman and Mira might have hated him for doing so if she had chosen no now, but she would thank him later when her head was cooled and it was a sacrifice he was willing to take. Ming Tao understood that pregnant Mira was really indecisive about a lot of things and he needed to be that extra nudge.

Or he could also be doing this out of his own hatred for Hye Yang, that was also a factor to consider. Ming Tao looked at the shaman and nodded. "Proceed. Reveal this woman to everyone present here today and crack through the sorcerer’s defense."

"Yes, oh great one." The shaman said. Mira felt her breathing strain. She did not need to be told before witnessing the shift in the air in the environment. Magic. Intense magic had dispersed into the atmosphere and she could feel it weigh heavily. "Please, everyone should step back." The shaman added. He looked at Hye Yang with so much seriousness that it made Mira swallow.

Mira did not even need to be told to step back, she wanted to do that the entire time! She pulled Ming Tao backwards along with her and used his body as a shield by staying behind him. Ming Tao noticed. He only rolled his eyes and let his hand hold firmly onto hers as she gripped his arm tightly. If it had to be, he was more than willing to be the shield his wife and child needed, now and always.

A thicker mist formed and the shaman’s finger tips glowed as well. Mira had only watched this happen in movies and animes on her time on Earth, but seeing it happen live in front of her felt surreal.

She noticed the short sparks in the air that had a visible display like opposing circuit wires connected wrongly and being charged with a high voltage current.

This made her pull Ming Tao further back, taking five more steps till she blended into the ground. She could not see the magnitude of the power of the sorcerer who laid on the other end behind Hye Yang’s mind but for the shaman to be this focused and intense must mean it was a lot of magic.

Possibly dark magic. Now Mira understood why dark magic was prohibited within these parts of the beast world, it looked dangerous and it scared Mira to know that there were regions on the outskirts of the ones dominated and ruled by her beast husbands that practiced dark magic.

It scared her that her own sister had gotten in contact with such a power to bring her down. Now she wondered why she even let sympathy for Hye Yang run through her mind in the first place.

The shaman whispered words and although Mira did not understand what he said, she knew it was working because Hye Yang began to bleed through her nose in a single stream and out of her mouth. Suddenly, a loud cry echoed in the environment followed by a thunderous clap.

This made Mira’s chest tighten. Her body hair stood and her heart jumped at the sound of it. Her heart hammered inside her chest and her fingers squeezed into Ming Tao’s arm.

Mira wondered how no one else in the cheetah clan around her looked as terrified as she did because this was not what she bargained for when she gave Ming Tao the go ahead on this.

"Are you okay?" Ming Tao asked. He felt Mira’s nails dig into his flesh and cause bruises.

Mira shook her head. "I am not, but I will be." She murmured under her breath. Her eyes widened in both shock, amusement and terror and her attention did not leave Hye Yang and the shaman once. "I want to see what horrible thing could have been done for it to be protected this much from being revealed." Mira added.

Ming Tao pulled her to his side instead of behind him and let his hand wrap around her body in an embrace from her side. "I am by your side. Do not hesitate to look away if you need to and lean on me." He said to Mira in soothing whisper.

Mira heard Ming Tao’s heart beat from how pressed her head was on his chest because of the new position he had her stay against his skin. His heart beat was quickened too.

Oh. . . Mira thought, he also felt it but is staying strong for the both of us, that was sweet. "Lean on me too." Mira stated. "I am here for you as well." She said. Ming Tao hummed his response then looked back at the shaman. The thick mist began to form shapes and structured definitions of the environment now that surrounded Hye Yang.

Mira squinted her eyes to see it clearly and not miss a single detail. Right in the forest by the fox clan, Hye Yang went on a hunt all by herself and asked a beast cub to accompany her. She knelt down to the beast cub and told the cub that she wanted to go for a fun race to stretch out their legs and the first to get to the destination wins a prize. The cub, on instinct, followed. After all, it was the daughter of the most respected and important woman in the fox clan that had asked him that.

Hye Yang carried a basket with her and went through the bush with the small cub. She had her head buried in a cloak and had the boy by her side through the journey. The only difference was, they did not go through the typical path that the foxes went when they wanted to have a race or some fun. It was outside of it.

This made the cub look up at Hye Yang and question. "Is there a new place for this? Where are we going, big sister Hye?"

Hye Yang smiled at him. "You will find out soon, just follow me and prepare to shift."

What Mira watched next made her sick to her stomach. The boy did in fact don’t out. It never was a hunt nor a game of stretching their legs. He was her first victim trade to the tribe of the other side. And he never returned back.
