Chapter 227: Chapter 227: God Coalition

Deep within the Trench of Eternal Silence, the water was entirely black and frozen at absolute zero. This was the domain of Thalassa, the Goddess of the Abyssal Tides.

She rested upon a throne made from the bleached ribs of a primordial leviathan. Her body was a fluid masterpiece of dark water and glowing bioluminescence. For the past three cosmic cycles, she had been meditating, slowly expanding her influence across the frozen oceans of a billion mortal worlds.

Suddenly, the ambient temperature of her entire oceanic dimension plummeted even further.

Thalassa opened her eyes. Her pupils were terrifying, pitch black pearls. The fundamental cosmic leylines had just shifted in a very violent manner. The searing, arrogant heat that usually radiated from the Volcanic Pavilion was completely gone. Ignis, the God of Searing Flame, had been erased from the grand tapestry of the universe.

Before Thalassa could even process this impossibility, a blinding golden light pierced the dark waters of her trench.

A crystalline scroll descended from the surface, completely ignoring the crushing deep sea pressure. The seal on the scroll belonged to Aethelgard, the Prime Deity of Cosmic Law. Thalassa extended a graceful, watery hand and broke the seal.

The golden text floated into her mind.

"To all Greater Deities of the Upper Court. The God of Searing Flame has been executed in the lower realms. The perpetrator is an anomaly known as Neo Godson. Your presence is required at the Apex Pantheon Hall immediately. We are officially at war."

"Fu fu fu..." Thalassa let out a melodic, chilling laugh. The sound caused massive whirlpools to form across her domain.

She found the invitation utterly amusing. Ignis was a loud, obnoxious brute who thought fire could solve every cosmic equation. He had finally burned himself out by underestimating a mortal. But the name Neo Godson intrigued her deeply. For a mortal to not just defeat but execute a Greater Deity, the laws of reality had to be completely broken.

She stood up from her leviathan throne. The freezing water swirled around her, forming an elegant, flowing gown of crushed ice and dark pearls. She was not afraid. She was curious. She wanted to see exactly how much chaos this Neo Godson had caused.

Meanwhile, in the Blood Fields of the Zenith Heavens, the God of War and Slaughter was incredibly bored.

Korvan sat on a mountain of shattered divine weapons, resting his chin on a massive, jagged broadsword. He was a colossal being, towering over fifty feet tall, with skin the color of dried blood and muscles that bulged with the kinetic force of colliding planets.

Below his mountain, millions of lesser war deities and ascended gladiator souls were fighting an endless, brutal war just to entertain him.

Yet, Korvan was yawning. The violence of lesser beings held no flavor anymore. He had not fought a worthy opponent since the Ancient Cosmic Crusades.

The sky above the Blood Fields suddenly ripped open. A golden scroll wrapped in chains of divine law plummeted directly toward him like a meteor.

Whoosh!

Korvan casually caught the scroll without looking, crushing the chains with his bare grip.

He unrolled the parchment. His glowing red eyes scanned the edict from Aethelgard.

When he read the words detailing the execution of Ignis, his boredom instantly vanished.

"Ignis is dead," Korvan rumbled, "That arrogant, flaming matchstick actually got himself slaughtered in a lower realm!"

Korvan read the name of the killer. Neo Godson.

Unknowingly a primal thrill rushed through Korvan’s veins.

His heart, which had beaten at a slow, lazy pace for thousands of years, began to hammer like a war drum.

He crushed the golden scroll in his massive fist, turning the parchment into fine glowing dust. He did not care about the politics of the Pantheon.

He did not care about the cosmic balance. He only cared about the fight. If this Neo Godson was strong enough to crush a Greater Deity, then this boy was the ultimate prize.

"Bring me my Star Forged Armor! And prepare the War Bastion! We are going to the Apex Pantheon Hall. I need to make sure Aethelgard does not steal my kill!"

Far above the Blood Fields, at the very peak of the God Realm, the Solar Spire was in a state of absolute panic.

Solaria, the Goddess of the Radiant Sun, paced furiously across her floating gardens of liquid gold. She was a being of blinding beauty, wearing a dress made of literal sunbeams. But her radiant face was twisted in sheer, unadulterated wrath.

The death of Ignis had severely destabilized her domain. Fire and Sun were deeply connected elements in the cosmic foundation. With the God of Searing Flame entirely eradicated, her own solar mana was fluctuating violently. Several of the artificial suns she had placed in her favorite mortal galaxies were currently going supernova without her permission.

Solaria snatched the scroll and read the summons from Aethelgard. Her blinding eyes narrowed into slits of pure, concentrated fury.

"Neo Godson," Solaria hissed, "A filthy, mud crawling mortal dares to disrupt the eternal balance of the Upper Court? Ignis was an incompetent fool, but his divinity belonged to the Pantheon! This insect has stolen a piece of our supreme foundation."

She crumpled the scroll and incinerated it with a single thought. She did not find this situation amusing like Thalassa. She did not find it thrilling like Korvan. She found it profoundly insulting. The fact that a mortal was forcing the highest gods in existence to convene a war council was a stain on their supreme pride.

"Prepare my chariot. I will not let this insult stand. I will demand that Aethelgard authorizes a full orbital cleansing of whatever backwater galaxy this Neo Godson occupies."

An hour later, the absolute apex of the universe was heavily occupied.

The Apex Pantheon Hall was not a building. It was a massive, floating ring of pure white marble suspended in a nebula of swirling cosmic dust. In the center of the ring sat a colossal circular table forged from a single, polished piece of starlight.

Thalassa was the first to arrive. She manifested from a localized geyser of dark water, taking her seat with a cold, elegant smile. The marble beneath her chair instantly froze.

Solaria arrived next, descending as a blinding pillar of golden light. She did not look at Thalassa. She simply took her seat, her body radiating a heat so intense that the frozen marble on Thalassa’s side of the table began to hiss and steam.

"Control your temper, Solaria," Thalassa teased with cold mockery. "You are sweating solar flares all over the table."

"Silence, you abyssal hag," Solaria snapped back. "I am not in the mood for your oceanic games. We have a cosmic crisis to manage."

BOOOOM!

A deafening sonic boom interrupted their bickering.

Korvan crashed directly onto the marble ring, his massive armored boots cracking the indestructible floor.

"Ha Ha Hah..."

He laughed loudly, marching to his oversized iron chair and slamming his giant broadsword onto the starlight table.

"Where is he? Where is the boy? I want to arm wrestle the mortal who snapped the Fire God in half!"

"The boy is not here, you absolute brute," a booming, resonant voice echoed through the entire nebula.

At the head of the table, reality itself began to fold and twist. Geometric shapes of pure golden energy slotted together, forming the humanoid silhouette of Aethelgard, the Prime Deity of Cosmic Law. He had no facial features, only a smooth, glowing golden mask that radiated the absolute authority of the universe.

Aethelgard sat down, resting his glowing hands on the table. The sheer weight of his presence forced Korvan to quiet down, though the War God still grinned with chaotic anticipation.

"Ignis is dead," Aethelgard stated flatly, carrying no emotion, only undeniable fact.

"His Divine Spark was not dispersed into the cosmic cycle. It was completely devoured. The lower realm known as the Saint Lands has been annihilated, replaced by an independent solar system outside of our jurisdiction."

Aethelgard waved his hand over the center of the table. A three dimensional projection of the void appeared. It showed the three newly forged planets, the artificial sun, and the massive fleet of Zenith warships.

Then, the projection zoomed in on a single figure floating in the vacuum of space.

It was Neo Godson. He was holding the severed head of High Commander Vulcan in one hand, while crushing the shattered pieces of the World Roaster under his boot.

Thalassa leaned forward, her mocking smile fading slightly. The boy did not look like a mortal cultivator who had gotten lucky. He looked entirely comfortable in the vacuum of space, radiating a density that rivaled a collapsed star.

Solaria slammed her fist on the table. "Look at him! He is hoarding the stolen faith of trillions! I demand we send the entire Solar Vanguard to incinerate his new planets!"

"Look closer, Solaria. Look at the boy’s eyes."

The projection magnified Neo’s face. The image clearly displayed his piercing, golden reptilian slits.

Complete silence fell over the Apex Pantheon Hall.

Korvan stopped grinning. His grip on his broadsword tightened until the metal groaned. Solaria’s blinding radiance flickered, turning pale with sudden, instinctive dread. Even Thalassa felt the dark water around her chair turn to solid ice.

They all recognized those eyes. They were the oldest nightmare recorded in the divine archives.

"That is impossible," Thalassa whispered, completely forgetting her elegant composure. "The Ancient Accords strictly bound the Godkings to the deepest abyss. They cannot possess mortals. The physical strain would vaporize the host instantly."
