Building Interstellar Empire With Universal Synthesis
Chapter 228: Primordial HorrorChapter 228: Chapter 228: Primordial Horror
The holographic projection of Neo Godson hovered above the starlight table. His golden reptilian eyes stared directly into their souls, completely uncaring of the millions of lightyears and dimensional barriers separating them.
Korvan slammed his giant fist against his armored thigh. He tried to let out a booming laugh to break the tension, but the sound was forced. It entirely lacked his usual chaotic joy.
"Eragon," Korvan grunted, spitting the name out like poisoned blood. "The First Dragon. The Lord of Hellfire. I thought the Ancient Accords ground his soul into cosmic dust. I thought we buried him beneath the foundation of the universe itself."
Aethelgard remained perfectly still at the head of the table. His featureless golden mask gave away nothing, but the sheer density of his aura conveyed a deep, fundamental dread.
"Godkings do not truly die, Korvan," Aethelgard stated flatly. "They enter forced hibernation when their physical vessels are destroyed. But this boy has somehow perfectly synchronized with Eragon’s dormant bloodline. The boy is a supreme catalyst. He is waking the nightmare up."
Solaria stood up violently. Her dress of woven sunbeams flared wildly, threatening to blind everyone in the room. The heat radiating from her skin began to warp the indestructible marble beneath her feet.
"Then we must descend!" Solaria shrieked. "All four of us! If we combine our supreme authorities, we can obliterate that solar system before the boy fully digests Ignis. We cannot sit here in our absolute glory and wait for a Godking to fully reincarnate! We are the Upper Court!"
"And what if we fail?" Thalassa asked quietly.
The Goddess of the Abyssal Tides leaned back in her chair. Her dark pearl eyes were fixed on the projection of the boy. Her elegant composure was completely gone, replaced by a cold, calculating fear.
"Ignis descended with his entire Vanguard," Thalassa continued. "Ten thousand elite fire elementals. Four solar dragons. The God of Searing Flame himself. The boy swallowed them all in ten seconds. If we descend, we are bringing him four intact, supreme Divine Sparks. We are bringing him the exact nutrients he needs. If he eats us, he will instantly bypass all dimensional restrictions. He will shatter the God Realm from the inside out."
Aethelgard raised a glowing hand, commanding absolute silence.
"Thalassa is completely correct. We cannot fight him directly. Any divine mana, any faith energy, and any holy authority we throw at him will simply act as supreme fertilizer for his demonic bloodline. He has an absolute devouring skill. He is the ultimate predator of gods. If we fight him, we are just feeding him."
The Prime Deity waved his hand over the center of the table. The projection of Neo Godson vanished. In its place, a completely different image materialized.
It was a projection of a gigantic, rusted iron vault floating in a dimension of absolute, suffocating darkness. The vault was wrapped in millions of glowing silver chains, each one thick enough to crush a planet.
Solaria gasped, taking a sudden step back from the table. Korvan gripped his broadsword with both hands, his red eyes wide with genuine alarm. Thalassa covered her mouth.
"The Tartarus Protocol. Aethelgard, you cannot be serious. That is pure madness."
"It is our only avenue of survival," Aethelgard replied coldly. "Inside that vault lies the Primordial Horror known as Azathoth, the Blind Devourer. It is a creature born from the leftover, rotting chaos that existed before the universe was ordered. It has no Divine Spark. It has no faith energy. It is made entirely of anti matter and primordial rot."
"It will destroy the entire eastern mortal sector!" Solaria yelled, pointing an accusing finger at the rusted vault. "It will not just kill the boy. It will eat the planets, the stars, and the fundamental laws of physics in that quadrant! And if it grows too large from feeding on reality, it will turn its blind hunger toward the God Realm!"
"No. Because we will strictly seal the dimensional borders behind it. A million mortal galaxies are a very cheap price to pay to stop the resurrection of Godking Eragon. Azathoth cannot be absorbed by the boy. The Primordial Rot is the absolute antithesis of existence. It will simply unmake him. It will dissolve his cosmic meridians and rot his starlight bones until nothing is left but empty void."
Korvan grumbled deeply in his throat. The War God looked incredibly disappointed, but even he understood the grim math of the situation.
"I completely agree," Korvan said slowly. "I deeply want to crush the boy myself, but I am not suicidal. Open the vault. Let the universe rot a little bit."
The four Greater Deities stood up from their chairs. They extended their hands toward the center of the table. Aethelgard chanted a string of forbidden, ancient syllables that caused the very fabric of the Pantheon to shudder. Solaria poured her searing light into the projection. Thalassa offered her absolute cold. Korvan provided his supreme kinetic force.
The combined might of the Upper Court funneled into the projection, directly transmitting to the physical vault hidden in the deepest abyss of the cosmos.
The millions of glowing silver chains around the rusted iron vault began to snap. The sound echoed through the Apex Pantheon Hall like breaking bones. The heavy iron doors groaned, slowly inching open.
A wave of pure, absolute wrongness washed over the gods. It was not a physical pressure. It was a spiritual decay. Even through a magical projection, the sheer existence of Azathoth made the indestructible starlight table begin to rot and turn a sickly shade of gray. Aethelgard quickly severed the projection, cutting off the visual link before the rot could infect the God Realm.
Down in the mortal realm, the vacuum of space near Neo’s newly forged solar system violently ruptured.
It was not a clean dimensional portal. It was a jagged, festering wound in reality itself. Black, viscous sludge poured out of the spatial tear, instantly dissolving the surrounding cosmic dust into absolute nothingness.
Then, the Primordial Horror pulled itself into the light of the new sun.
Azathoth had no definitive shape. It was a colossal, writhing mass of decaying cosmic flesh, completely blind gray eyes, and jagged maws that snapped wildly at the empty void. It was larger than a Jupiter sized planet. The sheer mass of its existence caused the surrounding gravity to violently invert. The artificial sun flickered. Its golden light was actively rotting away as the creature simply breathed in its direction.
Up on the command bridge of the Zenith Vanguard, the warning sirens screamed in absolute panic. Every single display screen turned a blaring, bloody red.
"Warning! Warning! Absolute spatial decay detected! Physical laws are failing! Hull integrity dropping at catastrophic rates!"
Commander Vaelar grabbed his console, his face pale with terror. The dark armor plating of their LORD class warships was beginning to rust and flake away just by being in the same visual range as the creature.
"Empress Noir!" Vaelar shouted over the blaring sirens. "We need to initiate an emergency warp! That thing is eating the literal concept of distance! If we stay here, we will be unmade!"
"I know commander."
Dark Empress Noir stood up from her throne. She gripped the railing, her knuckles turning completely white. She looked at the festering, writhing mass of Primordial Rot rapidly approaching their new home.
She felt a primal, instinctive fear telling her to run. But she forced herself to look down at the central planet.
"We hold our position. The Emperor has not ordered a retreat. We trust in his supreme authority." Noir commanded, her voice steady despite the shaking deck beneath her boots.
Down on the surface of his pristine central planet, Neo slowly looked up.
The sky above him was turning a sickening shade of gray. The oppressive, rotting aura of the Blind Devourer crashed down upon his shoulders like a collapsing galaxy. Any normal mortal, even a Saint cultivator, would have instantly dissolved into a puddle of biological waste just from standing in the presence of such overwhelming decay.
But Neo did not dissolve. His S rank Infinite Void Shield Body flared to life, easily repelling the ambient aura of the Primordial Rot. His Primordial Demon bloodline hummed with supreme agitation, instantly recognizing a rival apex predator entering its territory.
Neo simply stretched his neck. His newly forged starlight bones popped with intense kinetic energy. The golden reptilian slits in his eyes narrowed, glowing with a profound, fiery delight.
The Pantheon truly thought they had sent his executioner. They believed they had found the one thing in the universe that could not be eaten.
Neo raised his right hand and summoned the Sunfire Judgment Blade. The divine sword burst into a pillar of supreme platinum light, pushing back the gray decay descending from the sky.
"You brought me rotten meat. But a starving demon will eat anything," Neo whispered, his demonic voice cutting perfectly through the decaying atmosphere.
