Building Interstellar Empire With Universal Synthesis
Chapter 231: Exoseleron SystemChapter 231: Chapter 231: Exoseleron System
The Exoseleron Star System was the shining jewel of the eastern mortal sector. It was a sprawling empire composed of three billion stars, completely dedicated to Aethelgard, the Prime Deity of Cosmic Law. The planets within this system did not orbit their suns naturally. They were locked in perfect, mathematically precise geometric patterns by divine edict.
At the very center of this orderly perfection lay Sanctum Prime, the throne world of Emperor Glatos.
Inside the Grand Citadel of Law, a massive war council was currently taking place. The room was forged entirely from polished white gold and celestial diamond. Emperor Glatos sat on a towering throne, wearing a crown that glowed with concentrated faith energy. Around him sat the twelve High Kings and Queens of the Exoseleron outer rims.
They were currently reviewing a holographic projection of the Zenith Vanguard fleet approaching their borders.
"This is a joke. The reports cannot be accurate. A single mortal fleet is marching against the Exoseleron Galaxy? The man leading them must be completely insane." King Kaelen of the Seventh Rim stated loudly.
He took a sip of liquid starlight from his chalice and laughed. "
"He is worse than insane," Queen Vespera sneered.
"He is a certified madman. This Neo Godson survived the celestial judgment by some absolute fluke, and now he thinks he is invincible. He is marching a mortal army right to the doorstep of Aethelgard’s favorite vassals."
"It is just arrogance," another High King chimed in, leaning back in his crystalline chair. "He is a suicidal fool infected with delusions of grandeur. He does not understand the difference between surviving a localized anomaly and invading a fortified divine empire."
Emperor Glatos leaned forward. His golden eyes were filled with supreme contempt.
"Let the madman come then. We possess the Golden Aegis Grid. It is an absolute barrier composed of pure cosmic law, blessed personally by the Prime Deity himself. Not even a supernova could scratch the outer layer. When his pitiful dark ships crash against our shields, we will blast them into space dust with our orbital cannons. It will be a very entertaining fireworks show."
The council chamber echoed with aristocratic laughter. They were kings and queens who had ruled for ten thousand years under the absolute protection of the Pantheon. The concept of losing was completely alien to them.
Up in the cold vacuum of space, the Zenith Vanguard fleet materialized.
Ten thousand LORD class warships broke out of hyper space simultaneously. They were massive, angular beasts made of pitch black metal, radiating an aura of overwhelming dread. At the center of the formation was the flagship, a vessel so large it possessed its own laws.
Inside the flagship bridge, Neo sat casually on his obsidian command throne. He was resting his chin on his knuckles, looking at the glowing golden barrier that encased the entire Exoseleron Galaxy.
"That is a very bright shield," Neo observed calmly.
Dark Empress Noir stood beside him. Her crimson eyes eagerly scanned the tactical displays.
"It is the Golden Aegis Grid, my husband," Noir reported. "Our scanners indicate it is woven directly from Aethelgard’s authority. Physical weapons and conventional energy blasts will simply bounce off. The enemy is currently powering up a few million orbital defense cannons behind the barrier. They seem very confident."
"Of course they are confident," Neo smiled. "They think daddy Aethelgard is watching over them. They have no idea that their master is currently running for his life from a giant ball of rotting sludge. Are the drop pods ready?"
"The legion is fully prepared," Noir nodded. "We await your command to breach."
"Do not target the civilian sectors," Neo ordered.
He slowly stood up from his throne.
"I want this empire intact. Only destroy the military installations, the orbital cannons, and the royal palaces. We are here for a hostile takeover, not a mindless slaughter."
"And the impenetrable divine shield?" Noir asked with a wicked grin.
"I will handle the door," Neo replied.
He did not even summon his sword. Neo simply raised his right hand and pointed his index finger at the massive golden barrier protecting the galaxy.
He channeled a fraction of his Celestial Hellfire Eragon bloodline and mixed it with his newly acquired Divine Authority of Searing Flame. A tiny, concentrated sphere of black and gold fire formed at the tip of his finger.
"Pierce," Neo whispered.
He flicked his finger. The tiny sphere of hellfire shot forward at the speed of light.
Down in the Grand Citadel of Law, Emperor Glatos was still laughing with his council.
"Look at them just sitting there. The madman does not even know how to begin attacking a divine barrier. Pour some more wine, Kaelen. We are going to watch this fool realize how insignificant he truly is."
The words had barely left the Emperor’s mouth when the sky above Sanctum Prime suddenly turned pitch black.
A sound like shattering glass echoed across three billion star systems simultaneously.
The High Kings and Queens stopped laughing entirely. The holographic projection violently fizzled and turned red. The impenetrable Golden Aegis Grid, the absolute pride of the Exoseleron Empire, shattered into a trillion pieces of useless light.
"What happened!" Glatos screamed, jumping out of his throne. "Why did the sky just turn black? Where is the Aegis Grid!"
"Emperor Glatos!" the High Priest of Law screamed, "The grid is completely gone! A single projectile of unknown energy just instantly incinerated the conceptual laws holding the barrier together! The Zenith Vanguard is entering our atmosphere!"
"Impossible!" Queen Vespera shrieked, her regal composure completely shattering. "That barrier was blessed by a Greater Deity! No mortal force can break it! The man is a demon! He is a monster!"
"Commence the prayer of intervention!" Glatos roared, spittle flying from his lips. "Call upon the Prime Deity! Aethelgard will not allow his favorite vassals to be slaughtered by a madman! Open the divine communication channel immediately!"
The High Priest fell to his knees. His hands trembled violently as he gripped a glowing golden relic. He poured all of his faith energy into the artifact, desperately trying to contact the Apex Pantheon Hall.
One minute passed. Then two minutes.
The sky above the citadel was now swarming with pitch black drop pods. Massive explosions began to rock the capital city as the Zenith Vanguard legions systematically dismantled the Exoseleron military installations.
"Where is the Prime Deity!"
"Why is the Pantheon not sending reinforcements!"
The High Priest looked up, his face entirely drained of color. Tears of absolute despair streamed down his wrinkled cheeks.
"The heavens are silent, Emperor," the High Priest sobbed uncontrollably. "The connection to the Apex Pantheon Hall is completely severed. There is no divine light. There is no authority. We are completely alone."
Absolute silence!
The gods were not answering. The gods had abandoned them.
"No," Glatos whispered, stepping back until he hit his throne. "This cannot be happening. Aethelgard would never abandon us to a lunatic. This is a test. Yes, a divine test of our faith!"
The massive golden doors of the council chamber suddenly exploded inward.
The heavy metal doors flew across the room and crushed two of the High Kings against the far wall. Dust and debris flooded the pristine white gold chamber.
Through the settling smoke, a single figure walked slowly into the room.
Neo Godson wore his pitch black coat, the fabric actively absorbing the ambient light of the opulent chamber. His golden reptilian eyes scanned the terrified rulers, his expression completely devoid of any mercy.
Behind him, Dark Empress Noir walked with absolute grace. Her crimson eyes locked onto the trembling Queen Vespera.
"You have a very beautiful home. I think I will take it."
Emperor Glatos drew his personal weapon, a spear made of pure concentrated sunlight. His hands were shaking so violently he could barely hold the weapon straight.
"You are a madman! You are an absolute lunatic! You cannot just conquer a divine empire! The Upper Court will sentence your soul to eternal torment for this blasphemy!"
Neo paused in the center of the room. He tilted his head slightly, a slow, predatory smile spreading across his face.
"The Upper Court is currently busy playing tag with a rotting blob of antimatter.nThey are locked in their own house, screaming for help that will never come. Just like you."
Queen Vespera fell to her knees, dropping her weapons on the floor. The sheer aura radiating from Neo was suffocating her soul.
"Who are you?" Vespera gasped out, clutching her chest. "What kind of monster are you?"
"I am the man who threw the apocalypse back into the faces of your gods," Neo said calmly. "And now, I am your new Emperor. You have exactly ten seconds to swear absolute loyalty to the Zenith Vanguard, or I will let my Empresses decorate this room with your ashes."
Noir summoned a blade of pure dark energy, licking her lips in anticipation.
"Please," Noir whispered softly. "Please choose the ashes. I have not killed a queen in almost a week."
Glatos looked at his trembling kings. He looked at the shattered doors. He felt the terrifying, crushing weight of a predator who had completely broken the rules of the universe. He was not looking at a madman anymore. He was looking at a true cosmic calamity.
The Emperor of the Exoseleron Galaxy dropped his spear of sunlight. The weapon clattered uselessly against the floor.
Glatos fell to his knees and pressed his forehead against the cracked white gold tiles.
"We surrender," Glatos choked out, his pride completely broken. "The Exoseleron Galaxy belongs to you, Emperor Neo."
Neo did not celebrate. He simply opened his status window, watching a massive string of system notifications flood his vision.
[ System Alert: Exoseleron Galaxy successfully subjugated. ]
[ Host has acquired 3 billion stars. ]
[ Territory Expansion complete. ]
[ Generating new targets for conquest. ]
Neo closed the window and turned around, walking back out of the ruined doors.
"Good boy," Neo threw the words over his shoulder.
"Noir, organize the assimilation of their resources. We have three more galaxies to conquer before lunchtime."
