Building Interstellar Empire With Universal Synthesis
Chapter 236: Judgement Of Light and DarkChapter 236: Chapter 236: Judgement Of Light and Dark
The chaotic power of the Light Dragon and the dark entropy of the Dark Dragon fused perfectly in the palm of Neo’s hand. The resulting sphere of energy did not glow. It was a sphere of absolute visual distortion, a concentrated singularity of primordial magic that defied the very laws of physics.
Neo pushed his hand forward, driving the sphere directly into the central command pedestal of the bridge.
The energy surged through the internal wiring of the dreadnought, flooding into the Void Piercer mounted on the exterior hull. The massive metallic spire began to spin rapidly. Millions of runes carved into the barrel ignited with a blinding mixture of silver and gold light. The hum of the weapon escalated into a deafening roar that vibrated through the floorboards and into the bones of every person on the ship.
"Firing the Void Piercer!" Chief Engineer Vektor screamed over the roar of the machinery.
A beam of twisted spatial energy erupted from the tip of the drill. It struck the empty vacuum of space directly in front of the dreadnought. The fabric of reality did not just tear. It shattered like a massive mirror hit by a sledgehammer. A jagged, gaping wound opened in the universe, revealing a vortex of absolute, suffocating darkness.
"Take us in," Neo commanded smoothly.
The dreadnought, the Ghost, activated its main thrusters and slowly glided into the interdimensional wound.
The transition was violent and deeply unnatural. The observation windows went completely black. The artificial gravity inside the ship fluctuated wildly, causing the engineers to stumble and clutch their consoles. A terrible, high pitched shrieking filled the air as the physical laws of the mortal universe were violently peeled away from the hull. It felt as if the entire warship was being pushed through an ocean of freezing mud.
Then, the darkness broke.
The Ghost emerged into the First Stratum of Hell.
The observation windows cleared, revealing a landscape of incomprehensible scale and horror. There were no stars here. There was no sky. The dreadnought was floating in an endless, oppressive expanse of gray nothingness. Suspended in this gray void were the crushed, pulverized husks of millions of dead planets. They were completely drained of color, mana, and conceptual weight. They drifted aimlessly, colliding into each other with slow, silent impacts that kicked up massive clouds of toxic ash.
Before anyone could marvel at the horrific sight, the ship violently lurched downward.
The structural integrity alarms screamed simultaneously. The thick, reinforced titanium hull of the dreadnought began to groan and buckle. The metal ceiling above the bridge visibly bowed inward under an invisible, crushing weight.
"Emperor!" Vektor shouted in pure panic. "The gravitational pressure of the Ashen Wastes is completely overwhelming our shields! The hull will collapse in less than thirty seconds! We are being crushed by the residual weight of ten million dead worlds!"
"Maintain your stations," Neo ordered calmly.
Neo closed his eyes and tapped into his Dominator Core. He commanded the souls of the Twin Ancestors to release their absolute authority.
A massive shockwave of golden hellfire and pristine silver light erupted from Neo’s body. The divine energy phased straight through the metallic walls of the ship and expanded outward into the gray void. The two opposing forces braided together, forming a colossal, glowing spherical barrier around the entire dreadnought.
The moment the barrier solidified, the crushing pressure vanished. The groaning metal of the hull popped back into place. The structural alarms went silent. The interior of the Ghost was bathed in the warm, protective light of the Twin Ancestors.
"Gravity stabilized," Vektor gasped, wiping a thick layer of cold sweat from his brow. "Your divine aura is completely isolating us from the environment. We are safe, Emperor."
"We are not safe," Neo corrected him, opening his glowing reptilian eyes. "Look outside."
The brilliant light of Neo’s divine barrier had acted like a flare in the absolute darkness. The Ashen Wastes were reacting to the intrusion of pure, uncorrupted mana.
Deep within the floating graveyards of the dead planets, massive shapes began to stir. The gray ash and crushed rock of the planetary husks began to magnetically pull together. The residual resentment of the harvested worlds was giving birth to physical forms.
Giant, humanoid entities began to pull themselves out of the dead planets. They were Titans made entirely of compressed ash and broken tectonic plates. They had no faces, only gaping, jagged chasms where their mouths should be. They ranged in size from towering giants to colossal behemoths the size of mountains.
Thousands of them turned their faceless heads toward the glowing barrier protecting the Ghost. They sensed the rich, intoxicating energy of the living world, and they hungered for it.
The Titans leapt from the dead planets, floating through the gray void with terrifying speed. They completely ignored the laws of momentum, propelled purely by their hatred for the living.
General Kordel, the First Sword of the Vanguard, stepped forward. He was a towering warrior clad in crimson power armor. He rested his hand on the hilt of a massive plasma greatsword strapped to his back.
"Emperor," Kordel said, his voice deep and entirely devoid of fear. "The Vanguard does not hide behind shields while enemies march on our gates. Give us the command."
Neo looked at Kordel, and then at the other nine elite generals standing at attention. They were the absolute best the mortal universe had to offer. They were ready to bleed in the deepest pit of creation for him.
"You may deploy, Generals," Neo granted. "Clear a path for the Void Piercer. Leave absolutely nothing alive."
The ten generals saluted in unison. They turned and sprinted out of the command room, heading directly for the exterior airlocks.
Less than a minute later, the exterior bay doors opened. The ten generals launched themselves into the gray void, passing right through Neo’s protective barrier. The moment they stepped outside, their mana infused power armor flared to life, fighting back the crushing gravitational pressure of the environment.
The first wave of Ash Titans reached the ship.
Kordel drew his plasma greatsword. The blade ignited with a blinding blue heat. He activated his thrusters, launching himself directly at the chest of a massive Titan. He swung his blade in a wide arc, severing the creature’s arm entirely. The Titan roared silently in the vacuum, reaching out with its remaining hand to crush Kaelen.
General Lyra intervened. She was a master of spatial magic. She raised her hands, summoning thick purple tethers of condensed gravity. The tethers wrapped around the Titan’s neck and pulled violently backward, snapping its rocky spine in half.
General Vex, a heavy artillery specialist, hovered above the fray. His shoulder cannons locked onto a cluster of smaller Titans. He unleashed a barrage of dark matter explosives. The resulting detonations silently blossomed in the gray void, reducing the monsters to scattered dust.
The generals fought with flawless, brutal efficiency. They moved as a single, devastating unit, carving a path through the endless horde of ash and rock. They were completely outnumbered, yet they held the line with absolute dominance.
But the noise and the chaotic energy of the battle was echoing too deeply into the Ashen Wastes.
Suddenly, the gray void below the dreadnought began to violently churn. The husks of three dead planets were forcefully pushed aside as something unfathomably massive rose from the depths.
It was a Grave Leviathan.
The creature was the size of a small moon. It was composed of molten rock, compressed gravity, and the boiling resentment of a billion dead souls. It did not have arms or legs, only a massive, serpentine body that coiled around the floating planetary debris. Its mouth was a swirling vortex of gravitational force, resembling a localized black hole.
The Leviathan opened its mouth and inhaled.
The gravitational pull was catastrophic. The ten generals were instantly dragged backward, their thrusters screaming as they tried to resist the suction. The smaller Ash Titans were ripped apart and swallowed whole. Even the Ghost began to slowly drag downward, the divine barrier violently shuddering against the extreme cosmic pressure.
"Emperor!"Kordel shouted over the comms, his voice straining. "We cannot break its gravitational hold! It is swallowing the entire sector!"
On the bridge, Neo watched the Leviathan with cold, unblinking eyes. He did not issue a command to retreat. He did not show a single ounce of panic.
"Hold your positions," Neo said softly over the comms.
Neo vanished from the bridge.
He teleported directly into the gray void, appearing in the empty space between his generals and the massive Grave Leviathan.
The crushing gravity of the monster grabbed onto Neo instantly. But Neo did not activate his thrusters. He simply allowed himself to float, staring down at the swirling black hole trying to consume him.
"Eragon," Neo whispered. "Give me the light of absolute creation."
"Drogon," Neo added. "Give me the dark of complete erasure."
Neo summoned the Sunfire Judgment Blade. He raised the weapon high above his head. He poured the infinite silver light of the Light Dragon into the edge of the blade, and he poured the golden hellfire of the Dark Dragon into the core of the metal.
The blade began to grow. It extended outward, forming a colossal projection of energy that stretched for miles into the gray void. The sheer output of divine power illuminated the entire First Stratum, casting long, terrifying shadows across the dead planets.
The Grave Leviathan sensed the lethal threat. It roared, intensifying its gravitational pull to maximum capacity in a desperate attempt to swallow Neo before he could strike.
Neo swung the blade down.
"Judgment," Neo spoke, his voice carrying the absolute authority of a true Godking.
The colossal blade of light and dark magic cleaved through the gray void. It struck the swirling black hole in the center of the Leviathan’s mouth. The opposing forces of creation and entropy violently reacted upon impact. The blade sliced cleanly down the center of the moon sized beast, completely ignoring its physical density.
The Grave Leviathan froze.
