For a few moments after the voice echoed through the air, Sage stood frozen, his mind still reeling from the horrifying encounter with the old man.

The terrifying pressure that had nearly crushed them all lingered in his thoughts, along with the haunting image of Riven turning into a desiccated corpse before their eyes. The atmosphere was so heavy and suffocating that no one dared to breathe too loudly. Then, amid all that fear and tension, a familiar voice broke through like a hammer striking metal.

"Boss!"

The voice rang out again. "Boss! I’ve finally found you!"

Sage’s pupils flickered as disbelief and relief washed over him. He quickly turned toward the source of the voice, and when he saw who it was, the corner of his mouth twitched involuntarily.

Charging toward them at full speed was Boren.

The rotund man looked both miserable and ridiculous at once. His clothes were torn in multiple places, smeared with dirt, blood, and dust. His usually neat hair was a chaotic mess sticking out in every direction, while tears and sweat streamed down his round face. With each step he took, his body jiggled dramatically as if he were reuniting with a long-lost lover after years apart.

"Boss!" Hot tears streamed down his cheeks. "I finally found yooou!"

Sage’s expression darkened instantly as the earlier fear began to dissipate slightly; everyone turned to watch Boren barreling toward them. Even Gregor, Brutus, Caelis, and others who had been pale just moments ago now wore bewildered expressions.

Before Sage could respond, Boren threw himself onto Sage’s feet with a loud thud.

"Boss!" He clung tightly to Sage’s leg. "I thought I was going to die!"

Tears mixed with snot on his chubby face.

"I missed you so much!"

Sage stared down at him in silence; his lips twitched again before he slowly raised his gaze to meet those of the others. They immediately looked away, Valeria’s typically cold demeanor seemed to stiffen slightly.

Sage glanced back at the giant crying baby latched onto his leg and felt an impending headache coming on.

"...Can you let go first?" he finally asked.

"No!" Boren tightened his grip even more.

"Never!"

"I almost got eaten alive!"

"You don’t know what I suffered!"

Sage’s eye twitched in irritation. "You’re stepping on my robe."

Boren froze for a moment before loosening his grip just enough to comply. "Oh."

Mina had finally regained consciousness; she stared at Boren with wide golden eyes before rolling them dramatically.

"Fatty," she pointed an accusing finger at him. "You’re embarrassing."

Boren ignored her completely and looked up at Sage with watery eyes instead. "Boss..."

Sage raised a hand firmly. "Stop."

"I know that look."

"Don’t start crying again," Sage said, watching Boren sniffle loudly.

"I really thought I would never see you again..." Boren lamented, his voice thick with emotion.

Sage rubbed his temples in exasperation. Just then, another figure approached from the distance. Unlike Boren’s dramatic entrance, Lyana appeared quietly, but the moment Gregor spotted her, he froze.

"Lyana!" he shouted as he rushed forward.

Emotionally, Lyana seemed much better than Boren; however, physically she looked drained. Her long emerald green hair was a tangled mess, strands clinging to her pale face due to sweat. Her clothes were torn and stained with dirt and blood. Faint scratches marred her arms and neck, evidence of recent battles.

Despite her weary appearance, a soft smile broke across her face when she saw Gregor rushing toward her. "Brother."

Gregor halted in front of her and grasped her shoulders tightly.

"Are you hurt? Did anything happen? Are you alright?" His voice trembled with genuine concern.

Lyana blinked before offering a helpless smile. "I’m okay... just tired."

Hearing this visibly relaxed Gregor. He quickly scanned her body once more to confirm she was truly fine before releasing a long breath of relief.

"You scared me half to death," he muttered.

Lyana lowered her gaze slightly. "Sorry..."

Meanwhile, Sage observed the siblings quietly until his eyes narrowed in contemplation. Valeria beside him raised an eyebrow as she also stared Lyana as a hint of surprise flickered in her eyes for a few seconds before vanishing. Without a change of expression, she turned her face away and continued to look at her surroundings.

A strange expression crossed Sage’s face as realization struck him unexpectedly.

"Wait..."

Everyone turned their attention to him as he pointed at Lyana with a look of shock on his face.

"Lyana... you’re a Mage?"

The atmosphere fell silent instantly.

Gregor blinked in disbelief. Brutus blinked too. Caelis stared blankly while Mina wore a confused expression.

Lyana froze at the revelation.

Sage’s expression grew even more intense as he continued, "And not just any Mage... You’re a 2-Star Intermediate Mage."

At that moment, everyone’s expressions shifted dramatically.

"What?" Gregor exclaimed as he turned toward Lyana with wide eyes.

"Guildmaster... you must be mistaken." He laughed awkwardly and added, "Lyana is just an ordinary person."

Turning back to his sister for confirmation, he asked urgently, "Right?"

Lyana lowered her head guiltily, allowing her long green hair to obscure her eyes.

Seeing this reaction caused Gregor’s smile to falter slowly into confusion and concern.

Sage shook his head firmly after studying Lyana for several seconds. "I’m not mistaken," he insisted again. "She really is a Mage."

Shock deepened among the group as Mina gasped in astonishment: "Big sis Lyana is a Mage?!"

Caelis stared at Lyana blankly and asked incredulously, "Since when?"

Brutus scratched his head, confusion evident on his face. "I never sensed anything from her..."

Sage folded his arms, glancing at him. "That’s because she was hiding it." His gaze shifted to Valeria. "If you don’t believe me, ask her."

Instantly, all eyes turned toward Valeria.

She stood there calmly, her usual cold expression unchanged.

"He’s right," she said, her voice steady and clear. "She’s a Mage."

The moment those words left her lips, a heavy silence cloaked the entire ruined city. If Sage had claimed it alone, there might have been lingering doubts. But Valeria’s confirmation obliterated any skepticism.

Everyone stared at Lyana in disbelief.

Gregor’s reaction was particularly striking. He looked as if his brain had frozen completely.

Sage rolled his eyes, scanning the group. "So none of you trust me, but all of you trust her?"

No one acknowledged him; Gregor remained transfixed, gazing blankly at his sister. It was as if he were seeing her for the first time. Lyana kept her head lowered, her fingers nervously gripping her clothing. The atmosphere turned palpably awkward.

After what felt like an eternity, Gregor finally broke the silence. "...Is it true?" His voice sounded almost foreign, strained.

Lyana bit her lip and nodded slowly. "...Yes."

Gregor froze again, while Mina’s eyes widened in shock.

"Waaah! You really are a Mage!" Brutus exclaimed, visibly amazed.

"A hidden Mage..." Caelis mused as he rubbed his chin. "That explains a few things..."

Sage appeared genuinely impressed. "Honestly... you fooled everyone beautifully."

Hearing this only deepened Lyana’s guilt.

Gregor’s expression was still one of pure astonishment. "You... you’re really a Mage..."

Lyana offered a soft nod, her eyes reflecting regret. "I’m sorry..."

"I didn’t know how to explain it..." Gregor began, but the words wouldn’t come. Just then, Boren stood up after completing his dramatic crying session. Wiping the tears and snot from his sleeve, he pointed at Lyana.

"Oh right! Everyone! Lyana is amazing! She’s the reason both of us survived!"

He puffed out his chest, pride radiating from him. "If not for her, I would’ve become monster food a long time ago!"

The group collectively rolled their eyes.

Mina stormed forward, anger written all over her face. "You knew all this time?!"

Boren blinked, confusion etched across his features. "Yes?"

Mina grabbed his ear. "OW, OW, OW!" She twisted it hard. "You didn’t tell us?!"

Boren’s face contorted in pain. "I forgot and besides, I was surprised like you guys when i found out about this!" he exclaimed.

"That hurts!"

Mina shot back angrily, "You deserve it!"

Boren turned to Sage with a desperate look. "Boss, save me!"

Sage crossed his arms and replied flatly, "No."

"You deserve it," he reiterated.

Boren looked genuinely betrayed by the response.

Meanwhile, Gregor stood frozen, his gaze fixed on Lyana. His feelings were a tangled mess, confusion, shock, relief and honestly... a bit of hurt. Not because she was a Mage, but because she had kept that secret from him all this time. Lyana caught his expression and looked away, guilt washing over her.

Just as Gregor was about to voice another question....

BOOOOOOM!

The air around them suddenly warped violently. Everyone’s expressions shifted in an instant. Before they could react, massive beams of light began to rain down from the sky all around them, one, two, five... ten... dozens! The beams crashed into the ruins like colossal pillars connecting heaven and earth. The ground trembled violently as dust exploded into the air.

Tension surged through the atmosphere once more. Instinctively, everyone reached for their weapons. Sage’s expression darkened while Valeria slowly narrowed her crimson eyes
