Building The First Adventurer Guild In Another World
Chapter 343: Crimson Tempest [ 1 ]While Sage and the others were risking their lives in the upper layers of the treasury, bursting open bubbles, dodging traps, and trying to pull down every treasure that could change the fate of the Adventurer Guild, Valeria was fighting alone beneath them.
The lower half of the cathedral-like hall had already turned into a battlefield of golden wreckage and broken marble. The once spotless white floor was now carved with deep scars from heavy weapons, shattered into craters where massive golem feet had slammed down, and littered with pieces of broken golden armor that still sparked with dying runes.
The towering golden pillars that held up the distant ceiling were no longer untouched either; several had been split, dented, or cracked by the violent shockwaves of the battle, while fragments of engraved metal rained down from time to time whenever another guardian was smashed apart.
Yet at the center of all that destruction, Valeria stood calmly with her massive crimson broadsword resting lightly in one hand, her long red hair flowing behind her in the mana-charged wind, her expression as cold and unreadable as ever despite the dozens of towering golden golems surrounding her.
The first wave of guardians did not move like mindless machines. They marched with heavy, synchronized steps, each one nearly six meters tall, their bodies forged from glowing golden alloy covered in ancient runes that pulsed like veins of molten sunlight beneath their armor.
Some carried giant swords as long as small trees, their blades wide enough to split a carriage in half. Others held enormous shields shaped like fortress gates, thick enough to block siege weapons and heavy enough that each movement made the marble floor tremble.
A few wielded halberds with crescent-shaped blades that glowed with sharp golden light, their long shafts humming with stored mana as if a single sweep could cut through entire battle formations.
Their fiery eyes locked onto Valeria with mechanical precision, and when they advanced together, the air itself seemed to compress beneath their combined pressure.
Any ordinary group of warriors would have been crushed instantly under such a formation, but Valeria merely looked at them as if she were watching a group of children pretending to be soldiers.
The first golem moved suddenly, its massive sword descending from above with enough force to crush the ground beneath it before the blade even landed.
The attack tore through the air with a deep roar, carving a golden arc toward Valeria’s head, but she did not step back. Her crimson eyes followed the blade calmly, and at the last possible instant, her body blurred.
The sword smashed into the marble floor where she had been standing, exploding the ground into countless white fragments, but Valeria was already beside the golem’s arm. Her broadsword swept out in a simple horizontal slash, without any fancy technique or dramatic wind-up, just a clean, brutal swing backed by overwhelming strength.
The crimson blade passed through the golem’s elbow like it was cutting wet clay, severing the massive golden arm completely.
Before the guardian could recover, Valeria stepped forward and drove her fist straight into its chest.
BOOM!
The sound of impact thundered across the hall as the golem’s chest caved inward under her punch, the golden armor folding like thin metal sheets before the mana core inside shattered with a burst of white-gold light.
The giant guardian staggered backward for only half a breath before its entire upper body cracked apart, collapsing into a pile of ruined alloy and flickering runes.
Valeria did not even watch it fall. Another golem had already swung a halberd toward her from behind, the crescent blade slicing through the air with terrifying speed for something so large, but she twisted her body with smooth precision, allowing the weapon to pass inches from her waist before her sword flashed again.
The halberd split in two, the cut so clean that both halves continued flying for several meters before crashing separately into the floor. Valeria followed the broken weapon’s path by stepping inside the golem’s reach, and with one upwardslash, she cut through its torso from hip to shoulder, splitting the guardian apart in a shower of golden sparks.
Above the battlefield, some of the adventurers briefly paused their looting when the shockwave reached them. Gregor had just destroyed another bubble when a massive explosion of golden light rose from below, forcing him to glance down with wide eyes.
He saw Valeria moving among the guardians like a crimson bolt of lightning, appearing in one place, destroying a golem, disappearing, then reappearing in another part of the battlefield before the broken pieces of her previous target could even hit the ground.
He swallowed hard despite himself. He had seen Valeria fight before, had even watchedher clash with Riven, but this was different. Against Riven, she had been serious, controlled, and personal.
Against these golems, she looked almost bored, as if the treasury’s ancient guardians were nothing more than training dummies made from expensive metal.
Brutus, who had been preparing to smash another bubble, followed Gregor’s gaze and muttered with a rough laugh, "Remind me never to stand in her way, even as a joke."
Mina, who was clinging to a vine while trying to reach a smaller treasure bubble, looked down and immediately puffed out her chest proudly. "That’s my big sister Valeria. See? She doesn’t even need to try."
Sage, floating higher above them, did not respond, but his eyes flickered toward the battlefield below for a brief moment. Even while managingthe treasures and inspecting the high-grade Skill Stone cluster, he could still feel the violent mana fluctuations rising from Valeria’s battle.
Every impact from her sword created a burst of pressure that rippled through the entire hall, yet her own aura remained strangely controlled, never spilling wastefully, never disturbing the Guild members above and below more than necessary.
She was not just fighting the golems; she was keeping the battlefield contained, making sure none of the guardians could reach the treasure collectors.
That realization made Sage’s expressiongrow more serious. Valeria was not simply buying them time. She was protecting them from every direction at once.
Below, the golems finally adjusted. The shield-bearing guardians moved to the front, locking their enormous golden shields together and forming a wall that spanned nearly the width of the hall.
