Buying My Way Through the Multiverse

Gray instantly pulled a massive amount of fresh ingredients from his inventory. At the same time, he willed several plots of land from his home garden to appear on the ground. He set it up so his ingredient supply would automatically refill, letting him harvest as many senzu beans as possible over the next thirty days.

It took him around 30 minutes to finish a massive culinary feast for the entire group. Getting some help from the heroes to carry the heavy platters, they arranged everything on the large dining table and sat down.

"Itadakimasu," they said in unison as they dug into the meal.

Just by the smell alone, they could tell the food was going to be great. The UA teachers were already used to great food back at the school thanks to the hero Lunch Rush. But once they took their very first bite, they all hallucinated at the same time. Some weird noises were coming out of Midnight, while Ryukyu and Mirko barely managed to hold back their own weird noises. Mirko looked at Gray strangely. Last time they were in this dimension, he made them food, yes, but this was on a completely different level.

Eri continued eating at a very fast rate, trying to finish all the food before anyone else got any ideas of taking it from her plate. Gray simply smiled as he also dug into his own massive portions to satisfy his Saiyan hunger.

Training continued fiercely for the next few days. Izuku looked much more adjusted to his full cowl form. He kept pushing his own limits every single day. Thanks to all the Senzu beans Gray had given them, Izuku kept upping his clothing weight and the percentage he could use for Full Cowl. In just two more weeks inside the dimension, he had managed to go up to 7% with zero bodily recoil. Gray saw that once Izuku was done with Master Roshi’s training, he had nothing left to do for the rest of the day. So, Gray made a few simulated enemies appear for him to train against, forcing the kid to get his body used to real, high-speed fighting.

The rest of the heroes hadn’t been slacking on their own training either. Gray walked over to his side of the dimension and started checking the list of enemies he could spawn from his interface. While he was in the Walking Dead universe, he had bought as many teachers and enemies as he possibly could. Naturally, he also had a bunch of My Hero Academia villains on the list, but he planned to introduce them much later, when Class 1-A and 1-B were already in their normal classes.

Gray didn’t really have much of a match now that he had acquired the Super Saiyan form. For the last two weeks, he had done nothing but train with the transformation turned on, and now he wanted real sparring partners to push him further.

First, he started with both Android 19 and Android 20, Dr. Gero and the chubby white one. It was weird seeing them standing in front of him, as they didn’t really give off any Ki signature at all. Still, Gray was going to use them as a warm-up. As far as he remembered, they were around the same power level as Namek Saga Frieza. He fought them in his base form for a bit, but they weren’t really pushing him a lot. Going into Super Saiyan, Gray destroyed them rather quickly.

Still transformed into a Super Saiyan, he spawned the next opponents: Android 17 and Android 18. He knew they were significantly stronger than the previous two androids. But thanks to his base form already being on par with Namek Saga Frieza on its own, and now with the 50x Super Saiyan multiplier active, there was almost nothing they could do to stop him. He beat them down even worse than what Future Trunks did once he went back to his own timeline.

Checking the system list once more, Gray chose to fight Perfect Cell.

The fight started, and Gray immediately began to get a feel for it, going at it harder and harder with each passing second. After trading a few heavy blows, Gray found his answer. The version of Perfect Cell that Goku had originally fought in the anime was only around 33% of his own current Super Saiyan strength. Realizing this, Gray quickly dispatched Cell and opened the system list again. He spawned the villain right back in, but this time, he selected Super Perfect Cell. Seeing the jagged sparks of lightning crackling around the bio-android’s aura, Gray smiled. Now this could actually make him try!

Some of the heroes would use their downtime to walk over and check on Gray and his training. Seeing the man fight multiple powerful opponents at once and constantly come out on top was a sight for sore eyes. Still, seeing him move in that golden form was completely unreal. He was already incredibly strong in his base state, stronger than any pro hero available in Japan, and once he transformed into that golden form? They could easily tell his raw power would jump a lot higher than normal.

Mirko, seeing her ultimate target get stronger and stronger in front of her eyes, made herself try even harder than before. Thanks to the constant supply of senzu beans Gray had given to everyone, she had pushed her daily training far past her old limits. If she pulled a muscle or injured herself badly during a drill, she would simply eat a senzu bean and keep going right away. Of everyone on the island, she was the second-hardest worker, with Gray naturally being the first.

Gray and Super Perfect Cell continued trading brutal blows for hours. Thanks to the immense physical training Gray had endured under high gravity, his stamina reserves were strong. At first, it was hard for him to keep track of Cell because the villain was remarkably fast, but eventually his reflexes adjusted, and he got used to the extreme speed. Gray felt completely in tune with his body, as his Saiyan cells were brimming with pure happiness at being in a real fight with a worthy opponent.

Eventually hours turned to days, and days turned into weeks. A few hours before the dimension was set to close, Gray sat down on the ground, pondering the crazy power levels Dragon Ball Super introduced down the line. There was Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan Blue, Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, and Beast Gohan. But if Gray had to choose what he liked the most, Super Saiyan 4 was his absolute pick. The form looked insane when it was first introduced, and he loved how it changed the Saiyan’s body to look more ape-like, with a bigger, bulkier frame. Still, he had only achieved regular Super Saiyan for now. He wondered if he did end up buying "The Gamer" power package from the shop, would his transformations gain levels? If so, it would make it much easier to unlock those other higher forms down the road.

Getting up from the ground, he decided to use the remaining time to fight Super Perfect Cell one last time. Over the last two weeks, Gray had gotten completely accustomed to his Super Saiyan form, and it now took far less energy to keep it turned on. Thanks to that stamina adjustment, his fight with Cell had become much easier as time passed, too. Since the spawned dimension enemies didn’t grow in strength with him, he realized he would need to find another real sparring partner very soon.

Looking across the dimension, Izuku had grown the most out of everyone else in the group. He had grown completely used to using One For All Full Cowl at a stable 10%, and he could even push it to 15% for a brief moment before it drained him. Gray expected big things from him this school year. Just thinking about Bakugo’s face when he finally finds out Izuku is no longer quirkless and is actually strong as hell would be totally worth it.

Eri, thanks to all the food Gray prepared for her, had actually gained some healthy weight. She looked like a normal five-year-old child now. The only thing was that she still kept her scars completely hidden underneath long sleeves and pants, and whenever they were visible, she would instantly recoil from the sight of them.

Gray, seeing that he was not making nearly enough gold to buy the high-tier things he needed right now, knew he just had to wait for his passive income to stack up. Eventually, he planned to browse the system shop and buy advanced healing items or healing powers to get rid of her physical scars completely. But still, once they left the dimension, he planned on talking to Nezu. Maybe if the principal introduced them to a highly professional psychiatrist, they could help Eri work through her heavy mental trauma some more.

Once the internal timer finally hit zero, the white void began cracking around them, and eventually, they were all pushed out of the portal.

Landing back on the floor of the real-world UA training facility, people immediately stretched and yawned as their bodies adjusted to the sudden atmospheric shift. A few people quickly said their goodbyes as they left the building. All of the newly trained UA teachers left at the exact same time. ’They’re probably going to talk to Nezu right away,’ Gray thought to himself.

Gray scooped Eri up securely into his arms as he started making his way back toward his staff quarters. He also wanted to speak to Nezu about a doctor for Eri, but he chose to let the tired teachers give their official combat reports first. Besides, he wasn’t in any real hurry; it was Sunday night, and classes would start for the freshmen tomorrow morning, so the entire campus staff would be extremely busy anyway.

With 44,999 Gold to his name, Gray went up to his room. Once there, he placed Eri gently on the bed, as she had fallen asleep on the way over. With that out of the way, Gray took the laptop out of his inventory and opened the Calculator app to do some math. Checking his hourly gold generation, he calculated that the next massive upgrade would be available at 9:00 the next morning.

Grabbing the clock from the nightstand, he set the alarm and started relaxing. But soon enough, his mind started wandering back to the system shop. He was already thinking ahead about what new powers he could add to his repertoire.

First, he was definitely going to buy "The Gamer" power system. If he liked how it worked, he would carry it with him to the next world. Next, he wondered if the Arc of Embodiment magic from Fairy Tail would work alongside the Infinity ability from The Seven Deadly Sins. If those two powers could combine, it would open a lot of insane options for him. In the long run, it would mean he wouldn’t even need his system shop for minor items, since he could technically create anything he imagined out of thin air and keep it materialized forever using Infinity.

Getting up from the chair, he closed the system interface. Tomorrow would be a huge day. Next on his list, he needed to speak with Nezu to finalize his official role as a "teacher." His plan was to open the training dimension every Saturday at 7:00 PM and pull the students and faculty back out on Sunday night, giving them a full month of training over a single real-world weekend.

Gray planned to offer his training services to all the students. If they chose not to, they could simply go home for the weekend. But that was a solid plan for next week. First, he wanted to see if Aizawa would actually expel someone tomorrow, since he knew for a fact Izuku wouldn’t be coming in last place this time.

Getting excited, he also planned to bring down a notch the ones he felt were already strong enough. Especially Shoto Todoroki. The kid had the stupid idea of becoming a top hero by only using half of his quirk. Gray already had a few tricks up his sleeve, specifically designed for that kid.

As for Katsuki Bakugo? Well, that kid firmly thought that "power is might." So, beating him up a few times should calm his ego down, right? If anything, Mirko could probably use him as a high-speed kicking bag if Gray asked her nicely. She was always looking for an excuse to break a loudmouth.
