Chapter 32: Chapter 31: Connection
The sun was dipping low, casting long shadows between the gravestones as Caesar who was wearing a grey short sleeve top and black leggings, dug.
While digging, she recalled what Cedric told her earlier in the Sanity gym.
"Caesar, if you are facing this guy on Thursday, you must not second guess yourself or hold back."
"He’s right." Caesar said within, "With everything I learned about Damien, hesitation is a death sentence. It’s not about if I’m strong enough to beat him, it’s if I got what it takes to fight him.
When Thursday comes, can I become what I swore to become?"
Caesar tightened her grip on the shovel handle and continued speaking in her heart.
"I have been getting this lately. Cedric, the businessman interview ... Even from my dream. Be ruthless. Become a monster. Stop holding back. Stop hesitating.
One of the main reasons I lost to Nero aside from him being stronger and more experienced, was hesitation.
I questioned myself on what to do. Which method to use in taking the final ero-point, either by marking point or ero-capture. And because I wasted time thinking... Because I hesitated, Nero recovered and went into killer mode to beat my ass."
"One step forward, three steps backwards." Caesar said within as she tilted her head up, "That’s what I have been doing since the vow. The vow to become a hell of an ero-wrestler just to spite Akari."
"There is so much going on in my head, right now." Caesar continued as she resumed digging, "My boss Balland’s absence, Akari’s evil schemes, my brothers safety in school, my upcoming EBW match and more.
I should be working on my next shift but I had to give an excuse to him just to make up to Mrs Plank for being absent on Saturday."
"Mrs Plank AKA The zombie." Caesar said in her mind as she recalled the face of a fair skinned bespectacled elderly woman with a short white hair, "Most of the time I see her, she is usually on that powder, and when she is, she becomes chill... Almost too chill..."
"Like a zombie." Caesar continued as she recalled Mrs Plank sitting on a bench and smiling in a manner that seemed too relaxed, "Everything about her becomes slow, from walking to talking. It’s as if it’s a living corpse you’re seeing.
Though when she’s not on it, she is one hell of a woman."
Caesar had a recollection of earlier as she stood in front of Mrs Plank in her office with her head tilted down and her ears flattened while Mrs Plank was sitting on her chair across her desk and was scolding Caesar.
"You messed up your schedule? At least a simple call and explanation would have solved the matters." Mrs Plank said, "I had to put another employee to do double work because of you and I had to pay extra!
The other day, you showed up to work drunk and spouted some vulgar words of..."
" ’Suck my lips, zombie ... Bitch’." Mrs Plank continued as she shut her eyes in annoyance, "You said those words at me before you flipped the bird and passed out on the dug ground."
"That was three months ago, and like I said before, that guy at the shop did something to the smoothie I asked him to make for me." Caesar said.
"Regardless, next time you pull anymore disrespect like that again, I will fire you on the spot." Mrs Plank replied, "If you don’t want to do the grave work, there are other jobs out there.
Now in the meantime, go change to Monday work top and dig the graves."
"She’s currently on the powder again." Caesar said in her mind after the recollection, "Though I can’t forget how she accidentally poured a little of it on my face, earlier.
Seriously how does she take that thing? That shit smells like donkey’s ass."
"Plus..." Caesar said within as she stared at her right palm, "I have been feeling odd. Like I’m about to explode.
What’s in that thing?"
Caesar’s suddenly ears twitched and a strange scent filled her nose which led her to shift her gaze to another direction and narrow her eyes.
Caesar then dropped her shovel and took a couple of steps forward. Arriving at her destination in the graveyard, she saw a dug out grave with an opened casket laying on the ground.
She also noted a male figure standing in front of the grave and casket, having a stubble round his lower face, dressed in a white hoodie, black gloves, blue trousers and black shoes, carrying golden items and placing them in his pockets which made Caesar’s eyes widen.
"Hey!" Caesar said.
The male quickly turned to the direction of the sound and at the moment he saw Caesar, he took to his heels.
Caesar chased after him but the man darted between the headstones and disappeared into the trees.
After losing track of the thief, a frustrated Caesar halted and hissed.
"Damnit..."
Caesar then ran back to the disturbed grave and stared down at the shovel, the opened casket and the fair skinned male corpse that laid in it with gold arrayed on his body.
"Who the hell was that guy? And more importantly, how am I going to explain this to Mrs Plank?" Caesar asked in her mind, "I’m already in her bad book for the shit that happened three months ago and last Saturday.
Gosh... She’s so gonna give me hell for this... Especially when that powder wears off."
Suddenly, Caesar’s face twisted in pain and a sharp gasp forced it’s way out of her lips.
Turned out the thief who she thought had escaped, attacked her from behind by slamming his forearm upward between her thighs.
Caesar softly moaned in pain while her legs quivered and her knees wobbled as she hunched forward despite her attempts to stand upright.
The thief moved in front of Caesar and hooked his arm tightly round her neck, dragging her to the tip of her toes as Caesar cupped her hurt womanhood.
"Shh..." The thief whispered.
The thief then delivered a snap DDT so devastating that it made Caesar temporarily stand on the mid-scalp of her head before her frontal body collapsed lifelessly on the ground.
While Caesar laid limp on the ground, the thief stared down at her and spoke.
"Sorry about that, but I need this now."
The thief turned his sight back to the casket and knelt down to resume taking the gold from the corpse.
After taking some and pocketing it, the thief took a wallet from the corpse and stood on his feet.
The thief stared at the wallet for a moment and also placed it in his pockets.
However, before he could resume, he suddenly groaned in pain and hunched forward, turning out that Caesar had tightly clamped his balls with her hand while standing on one knee.
Caesar gritted her teeth and growled as she put more efforts in squeezing the balls of the thief which made him groan louder and hunch over even more.
Caesar then released her grip, allowing the thief to drop on his knees.
Caesar walked in front of the thief and kicked him across the face, sending him to tumble across the ground.
The thief scrambled up to one knee and quickly raised a hand forward while clutching his groin with the other.
"Wait! Wait! Stay back!" The thief pleaded, "I don’t want to hurt you!"
"You already did." Caesar replied flatly as she tilted her head, "You got a lot of nerve robbing a grave."
"I-I need it." The thief answered, "I need it to pay my debt."
"So you couldn’t work to do that? You had to stoop as low as robbing the dead?" Caesar asked as she furrowed her brows.
"You... You are an ero-wrestler just like me. A Mizukai forced just like me." The thief said.
Hearing those words, Caesar’s eyes widened in shock.
"A Mizukai forced? How does he know that?" Caesar asked in her mind.
"Who are you?" Caesar asked.
"Who I am right now doesn’t matter. I just need the gold and money from my stepbrother to pay off the debt." The thief replied.
"Stepbrother, huh." Caesar said within as she glanced at the corpse, "So that’s why he robbed him. It wasn’t a random grave."
"Still. He said he is an ero-wrestler and a Mizukai forced." Caesar continued as she shifted her gaze back to the thief, "The only Mizukai forced performer I ever heard and was spoken about before me was Kaezan Aris, and that guy is in a mental hospital.
And Akari said she is waiting to see how long it will take for me to break before she moves to the next who is a married guy. So unless she grew impatient or-"
Caesar’s eyes widened again as she recalled yesterday’s Sunday news about an escaped mental health patient and their words replayed in her head.
"It has been days now since the escape of the asylum patients and there has been no luck on the police side in finding the remaining patient.
Reports have it that he bludgeoned nine guards into a coma with his bare hands."
"Is he... Is it him?" Caesar asked in her mind.
The thief stared at Caesar in confusion and Caesar narrowed her eyes.
"Are you... Are you the guy that escaped from the mental hospital?" Caesar asked.
The thief however didn’t answer and subtly clenched his fists.
"Fine. Let’s move to the next one." Caesar said, "You said you are a Mizukai forced just like me and you are robbing your ’stepbrother’ to pay back the debt.
The only Mizukai forced ero-wrestler that was ever spoken of was in a mental hospital and with the news yesterday, this leads to one question..."
"Are you Kaezan Aris?" Caesar asked with a plain expression as her irises glowed.
Hearing that question, the thief gritted his teeth.
