Caesar's Moon

Chapter 37 - 36: Overload

Chapter 37: Chapter 36: Overload

Years ago, within the Mizukais mansion, Kaezan was on both knees while his hands and forehead touched the ground.

In front of him sat Raizan who was wearing a crimson blazer with gold accents, white office top inner wear, black tie with red accents, a crimson trouser and a black pair of shoes.

Raizan stared down at Kaezan with his usual cold expression while leaning the side of his head against his knuckles.

"So you mean to tell me that you were exploited and made to sign the debt papers?" Raizan asked.

"Yes. I was made drunk by them and in my drunkenness, I was given the debt to sign." Kaezan answered.

"Odd. Normally when collecting the debt papers, the ones that took it are supposed to sign right there." Raizan said, "It seems like ’he’ got incompetent again."

"Now you know, can I please be absolved from the debt?" Kaezan asked, "I was set up by them to sign it.

If I was sober, I would have read what was given to me and refused to do it."

"Yes, you would have but unfortunately, that’s not how this works." Raizan replied.

Hearing those words, Kaezan raised his head in shock.

"While what happened to you was tragic, there isn’t much we can do." Raizan stated, "It was signed by you, regardless."

Kaezan’s eyes widened and his body shook a little.

"But... But, I was setup...! Tricked and exploited...!"

"Yes, you were. But in the end, it’s still your signature that is on the document, is it not?" Raizan asked, "So here is what is going to happen: Because you were set-up by your so-called friends, I will give you more time and extend how long you have to pay.

If you want to use that time to pursue your ’friends’ or act on them legally, that is on you.

But at the end, we’ll be expecting our money with ’no interest’."

"But-"

"You have one year. One year to pay the debt." Raizan interrupted, "And by the end of that year, I want no excuses."

"Understood?" Raizan asked as his left face and mouth was overshadowed, leaving only a blue gleaming light from the left eye.

Currently, Caesar slowly opened her eyes and her vision blurred.

Her breathing was steady as she was slowly gaining her senses back.

Her sense of hearing returned as she could hearing the beeping sounds, followed by her sense of smell as she perceived the strong antiseptics.

Her sight fully returned, allowing her to observe the place and see she was in a hospital room and along with sense of feelings as she could feel a little pain at the moment she turned her head to the left which caused her to softly groan.

Finally, her sense of taste returned as she could taste something odd in her mouth which made her slightly squeeze her face.

"What the hell...?" Caesar whispered, "What the hell is this? It tastes awful."

Caesar winced in pain as she sat up, revealing some parts of her body to have been bandaged.

"What the hell happened?" Caesar asked within, "Like really... What happened?"

"Looks like you are finally awake." A female voice sounded.

Caesar turned her direction to the voice and saw the person to be Mrs Plank who had just entered into the medical room.

"Thank goodness." Mrs Plank continued as she walked towards Caesar.

"Mrs Plank?" Caesar said with an arched brow.

"How are you feeling? I’m sure you must have questions on what happened." Mrs Plank said, "But before that, what do you remember? Anything at all?"

Caesar stared at Mrs Plank for a moment before she tilted her head down and answered.

"I... I remember... I remember digging. I remember an intruder."

Caesar then groaned a little as she placed her hand on her temple.

"My mind.... My memories are so blurry.

I-"

Caesar’s eyes then widened as she recalled her fight with Kaezan.

Her maniacal laughter and fighting style while smiling.

"One big bad wolf... Two big bad wolves...Three big bad wolves... Four big bad wolves.

Ready or not... Here I come!

He’s so funny! You’re so funny!"

After Caesar’s own voice replayed in her head of her fight with Kaezan, Caesar’s face turned terribly pale and her ears flattened.

"What the hell?"

"It seems like you remember all of it. That’s good." Mrs Plank said.

"Was that really me?" Caesar asked herself in her heart, "I only wanted to stop him from robbing the grave and escaping with the gold. Not to mention use him as a means of testing if I am capable of facing Damien or not.

Why the fuck was I behaving like a lunatic?"

"I’m sure you wonder why you were behaving like that in your fight." Mrs Plank said.

"Yeah, and- wait, you know?!" Caesar asked in shock as she raised her head, "You saw the fight?"

"I watched every scene of it, thanks to the cameras I installed on the graveyard." Mrs Plank answered as she took a chair to sit.

"You... Have cameras on the graveyard?" Caesar asked.

Mrs Plank gave a wry smile and responded.

"Miss Moon, I’ve ran this business for eleven years. I’d be a fool not to have cameras placed in there.

That thief wasn’t the first to try and rob the grave and he clearly won’t be the last.

Though it seems the audio of the cameras went bad so I couldn’t hear what any of you spoke.

I do wonder what I’m paying that fool for if he cannot do his work."

Caesar’s cheeks turned red as she tilted her head down and spoke.

"Y-you saw everything."

"Yes, I did." Mrs Plank replied, "From how you fought dirty to him putting his mouth on your... ’Private’ part, and you grabbing his ... ’Part’."

Caesar’s face became redder which made Mrs Plank rolled her eyes and sighed.

"I know you are an ero-wrestler and I’m not going to judge. We all have to make our bread and butter... As long as it is legal."

"But let’s go back to your fight." Mrs Plank continued as she placed her hand in her handbag, "When you fought that escapee, you showed sanity at the beginning but as you went on, you lost your mind."

"It had gotten so bad I couldn’t tell who was the sane one anymore." Mrs Plank said as Caesar turned her face away, "No, the asylum patient seemed more sane than you."

Mrs Plank brought out a small decorated white jar and drew it a bit close to Caesar.

"You know what this is, don’t you?" Mrs Plank asked.

"The powder you usually take?" Caesar said with a raised brow, "What about it?"

"This is Ferrosyx." Mrs Plank said, "I have a terrible physical condition that leaves my body and mind in great pain, so when I take it, it dulls the pain, relaxes my muscles and mind.

I’m not the zombie you and your coworkers call me behind my back; (honestly, I do have the mind to fire you and the others for that nickname)."

"Anyway as I was saying." Mrs Plank continued as she adjusted her sitting style, "While it helps me with my condition, do you know what happens when someone without it takes ferrosyx?"

"No." Caesar answered.

"It gives them a ’boost’." Mrs Plank said, "It makes them stronger, faster, more durable, heightens adaptation to pain and heightens sensitivity to pleasure.

However, in exchange it makes them feral and looney. The longer the user goes on, the higher the growth of these... And the shorter their life becomes."

"Wait, what?" Caesar asked with widened eyes.

"Yes, the user without my conditions will die. Their system shuts down. Their heart explodes. Their brain seizes." Mrs Plank said, "Thousands have died because they abused the drugs without the conditions needed to take them.

You survived for two reasons:

One , was because I accidentally poured a small amount on your face.

And the second was because the asylum thief passed out.

If the fight had gone on any longer, you would have died. Even then, you still entered into cardiac arrest when you lost consciousness."

Hearing this revelation, Caesar was stunned and left speechless.

"I... Almost died?" Caesar whispered.

"When the powder touched your face... Especially your nose, I prayed you wouldn’t be affected and when I saw the first blood tear I was frightened." Mrs Plank said, "Then when two came out, I knew-"

"I was crying blood?" Caesar interrupted in shock.

"Yes, you were. You were reaching closer to your death." Mrs Plank answered, "Because of my clumsiness, I endangered your life.

Though it was a small amount that touched your face, it was still lethal. Not as lethal as a medium or large portion but was still deadly, regardless."

"Even... Even though, it was illegal, I requested that the doctors perform the treatment on you without your consent since you were unconscious, but it was to save your life at the moment." Mrs Plank continued as she turned her face away in shame.

"And... This is not the only time you’ll need the treatment." Mrs Plank said as Caesar drew her head down.

"Hm?" Caesar said as she snapped her head up in confusion, "Is there a reason why?"

"Yes. When the unconditioned user takes ferrosyx, it stays in their blood." Mrs Plank answered, "And that near death maddening-state can be triggered at moments especially when the body is either terribly pushed to the extreme or the user enters into an extreme emotion like deep rage.

But fortunately for you, since yours was a small amount, you would require a monthly treatment, not weekly or daily."

"And since this was my doing, I will be taking care of the treatment every month. And to pay more for my clumsiness, I’d be offering a sum of fifty thousand yons for compensation." Mrs Plank continued as she shifted her gaze towards Caesar.

Hearing that amount, Caesar’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"F-fifty t-t-thousand...? Mrs Plank that’s a lot of money. I can’t accept-"

"I am not taking no for an answer." Mrs interjected with a firm tone as she closed her eyes, "I am the reason your life was endangered and still is. It would be absolutely cruel of me to leave you empty-handed.

Besides, I have already sent the money to your account."

Caesar stared at Mrs Plank for a time and muttered.

"Fifty thousand...."

"And by the way, I informed your managers about your situation." Mrs Plank said.

"My managers?" Caesar asked.

"You are an ero-wrestler affiliated with the Mizukais, are you not? That makes them your managers." Mrs Plank said, "I contacted them and let them know about the ferrosyx situation.

Though I don’t know much about the ero.... Thing, I do know that EBW just like other companies have a strong rule on drugs, so I contacted them to let them know on time and see if they can talk to EBW about your condition.

I just hope that your ero-wrestling career isn’t ruined because of me."

"Though you don’t strike me as the kind of woman that would engage in such things, but for you to be there which means you really needed the money." Mrs Plank continued as she slightly titled her head.

Caesar remained mute for a time before she spoke.

"Are the Mizukais here?"

"Yes, they are." Mrs Plank answered, "They are currently speaking with the authorities. From what I know, they are talking them out of taking that asylum thief."

"Odd, isn’t it?" Mrs Plank asked as Caesar’s eyes widened, "I personally believe that that thief should either be locked up behind bars or taken back to the mental institution. Yet for some reason, the Mizukais have taken a strong interest in him especially Akari.

A word of advice: Since you have been treated, the doctors said that you must reframe from any stressful activity on your body throughout tomorrow morning. That includes work or ’trainings’.

In the afternoon, if you have any shift then you can proceed, but in the morning, rest.

Understood?"

Mrs Plank, noticing the menacing wide-eyed stare from Caesar, slightly became troubled and spoke.

"Miss Moon? Miss Moon, is something the matter?"

Caesar still stayed quiet for a while before opening her mouth to talk.

"Where is Kaezan?"
