Caesar's Moon

Chapter 53 - 52: Aftershock

Chapter 53: Chapter 52: Aftershock

In the arena as the medics carried AJ away, Magoi sat in the middle of the ring while the crowd clapped and chanted repeatedly.

"THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS AWESOME!"

"I got to say, Menae. That match was crazy." Josh said, "Seeing how the rookie moved and him beating Magoi... Magoi of all people was something else."

"Yeah, it was something else." Menae replied, "No one expected him to win. I didn’t expect him to win but he pulled off the impossible.

Now the underdog is now 1-3 and that one is ’Magoi’."

"That wasn’t an underdog victory." Josh replied as Magoi smirked, "That was the victory of someone who had a total mental collapse into survival mode.

AJ gave two hundred percent to win, burning himself out and barely securing the victory . And it was only possible because Magoi wasn’t serious with him.

I’d say she barely gave twenty percent in the match . Think about it, who’s more likely to win? A powerhouse who is barely giving anything or a guy who is willing break his body and give beyond?"

"Yeah, you’re right. Magoi was barely trying with him. A serious Magoi would have ended the match under a minute." Menae replied, "And if I remember correctly, AJ was in so much pain when he delivered that clothesline.

I think he destroyed his arm when he did it.

So not only was his body a mess from Magoi’s treatment, he was still willing to destroy himself even more.

He really did go two hundred percent."

"MA-GOI! MA-GOI! MA-GOI! MA-GOI! MA-GOI!" The crowd chanted which made her gaze at them with an arched brow.

"In the end, it was one hell of a match." Josh said.

Magoi smiled as the image of AJ’s face resurfaced in her head which made her turn her sight towards the stage and grin demonically while her irises glowed.

Meanwhile as Caesar was still using her phone, she decided to scroll down to comment section to see the reviews on B-cube.

"This is awesome"

"One of the craziest matches I’ve ever seen in ero-wrestling"

"Yo, did AJ just beat Magoi?"

"Bro went crazy"

"People out here talking like AJ beating Magoi was crazy, that win was a fluke. That boi ain’t beating her the second time"

Caesar stared at the comment and decided to click the replies under the it.

"Imagine losing to a rookie with an 0-3 win record"

"Imagine being booked against a rookie with an 0-3 record"

"Imagine booking a rookie with an 0-3 record against a homicidal mofo that is always smiling"

"AJ will still kick your ass"

Caesar skipped the replies to the comments and continued reading others.

"Congratulations, my man, AJ"

"Magoi lost because she went to do THE ONE THING you do not do when facing an opponent!"

"Magoi must have forgotten her braincells at home because wtf was that performance?"

"Bro went full Eren Brock on her"

"AJ beat Magoi? Dude must have subscribed for some serious plot armor"

Caesar stared at the comment for a moment with an arched brow and clicked the replies.

"Plot armor? Nah, he is bathing in a pool of plot"

"Bro was given blessings from the plot armor god himself"

Caesar smiled at the replies but then a comment caught her eye.

"Check out the medical update on AJ Zero"

Caesar saw the link attached to the comment and clicked it.

The link led to another video of the EBW manager of talents and logistics Amalia Xin.

Amalia at the moment was wearing a red blazer, white inner office top with a red tie and a red tight short office skirt.

She stood in front of one of the doctors within the EBW medical facility, speaking to him.

"So, how bad is it?" Amalia asked.

"The kid recieved a lot of terrible injuries and still pushed himself further." The doctor answered, "Thanks to our medical equipment, we were able to save his life. But he will take a couple of days before our equipment can fully heal him and send him back to the streets."

"Good. That’s all I need to know." Amalia said.

"I got one question to ask, though." The doctor asked, "I’m aware of how EBW does things which a lot of times can be bizarre, but was it really the higher ups that made this match or was it you? Because booking that kid against someone like her in that kind of match was stupid, reckless and almost homicidal."

Amalia stayed quiet for a time and smiled.

"Just focus on your job and I’ll focus on mine, okay?" Amalia said as she titled her head.

Amalia then turned her back on the doctor and left.

After the video had ended, Caesar recalled the face of Amalia Xin.

"I’m Amalia Xin, the manager of talents and logistics." Amalia’s voice replayed in Caesar’s head.

"I remember her. I met her when I first entered the company." Caesar said within, "Huh."

Caesar then recalled the face of Damien Bane which led her to exit the videos and type on the B-cube’s search bar "Top twenty moves of Damien Bane"

The results showed only videos with top ten movesets of Damien which led Caesar to narrow her eyes.

"Hmmm." Caesar said.

Caesar clicked the video and started watching it play in her screen.

The next morning as Caesar was outside, practicing her strikes on a tree.

As Caesar was striking the tree, punching it bare knuckled and slamming her shins on it, the face of Damien appeared in her head.

"If you are going to get shit done then feelings like remorse should be out of the equation." Damien’s voice played in her head, "I want to see a remorseless machine doing what she can to beat me."

"Never for once did I stop to think about feelings and you better stop thinking about that too if you want to survive." Damien’s voice continued as Caesar started striking harder, "Do you think they’ll care?

You got a huge target on your back."

Caesar let out a loud groan as she slammed her fist so hard on the tree that it shook off several leaves to the ground.

"It’s a dog eat dog world." Damien’s voice replayed one more time as Caesar was panting.

During this moment, Cedric’s voice also played in Caesar’s head.

"Be a monster but let it be the mask you can take off."

After remembering those words, Caesar sighed.

"Today is the day, huh?" Caesar asked within, "The day to see if I got what it takes and to see where I stand."

Caesar raised her closed fist and gazed upon it in silence.

Hours later as Caesar was working in the Balland and Barnes Bakery, cutting the carrots on the chopping board, she took notice of her coworkers exchanging uneasy glances at her while working.

Caesar however ignored them and continued cutting the carrots.

While working, she heard a feminine voice break through.

"Caesar!"

Caesar turned around and saw the person to be another of her coworker and the manager of the Balland and Barnes Bakery, Gura.

"Yeah?" Caesar said with a raised brow.

"You got people waiting for you outside." Gura said, "You know... Your usual kind."

The words of Gura led Caesar to narrow her eyes.

Minutes later as Caesar stepped outside the bakery, wearing a black short sleeve top with white accents, grey leggings and white sneakers, she saw the two Mizukai guards that usually escort her, standing beside a black sleek car.

"Miss Moon." The guard on the left said flatly, "You need to come."

"The street where the event will be held is quite far, so it is advisable to leave now so that we can get there on time." The guard on the right said.

Caesar nodded her head in response but before she could walk forward, she halted as the door sound of the passenger seat opening resonated.

Slowly and elegantly, Akari stepped out from the car, turned her sights towards Caesar and smiled.

"Hello, dear." Akari said.

Caesar’s eyes widened a little seeing Akari standing behind the car.

"What’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost." Akari said.

Caesar immediately composed herself and spoke.

"What you are doing here?"

"Hm? What do you mean?" Akari asked with closed eyes while maintaining her smile, "I cannot come to see my little doll again? Especially after her viral conversation with Damien?"

"Viral conversation?" Caesar asked.

"So you are not aware?" Akari asked.

The guard on the left brought out his phone and clicked a few things on his screen and handed it over to Caesar

"You see while you and Damien were having a little ’heart-to-heart’ in that cafe, you were being live streamed by the people watching." Akari said as Caesar was staring at the screen with disbelief, "Right now, your topic has gone incredibly viral and it’s still growing in numbers."

"What the fuck?" Caesar whispered as she saw conversation between her and Damien with millions of views while the numbers were still climbing.

"I was also informed that people have invested more in your match than the main event itself." Akari said, "Both of your names are selling more tickets than imagined and the betting pool of your match is far higher than the others.

Lots and lots of people will be tuning in just to see you fight.

Even people who aren’t fans of ero-wrestling, people who despises it, will hop in to see your match.

That’s quite the buzz you’ve created."

"I for one cannot wait to see you in the match." Akari continued as Caesar raised her head to lock eyes with her, "To see you beaten, broken and humiliated.

It’s a shame I didn’t prepare a gear for this event, but don’t worry, I’ll make up for it with your next match."

"In the meantime, you will be sitting beside me and we’ll get to have a lot of fun and a lot of talks until we get to the stadium." Akari said as Caesar stared at her with an arched brow , "So come in..."

"My little ’ero-doll’." Akari continued as she finally opened her eyes with a sinister smile while her irises glowed.
