Caesar's Moon

Chapter 54 - 53: Predator versus Prey part 1

Chapter 54: Chapter 53: Predator versus Prey part 1

In the year MM-13, the 13 year old Caesar who was walking alone in the streets, wearing a uniform of a white long sleeve top, blue tie, black leggings and shoes while carrying a black bag on her back, took a group of male humans and beastfolks stamping on an individual.

The groans of the person echoed while the group were cursing at him.

"Stupid fucker!"

"Eat dirt, you cheating shit!"

Caesar watched until they had finished stamping on him and turned their backs to angrily walk away while muttering.

"Serves you right."

"I swear if I catch you in the streets again, I won’t stop at a beating!"

"Let’s leave this fool."

Caesar turned to walk away but hearing the pained groans, Caesar’s eyes shifted back to the assaulted individual and watched him fall on the ground repeatedly.

Caesar stared at the person for a time before she narrowed her eyes and decided to head towards the direction.

Upon arriving close, Caesar saw the person to be an old fair skinned man, wearing a brown tattered hoodie, blue tattered jeans and a pair of black shoes but the left shoe was torn open.

The man gazed up at Caesar and quickly turned his face away.

"Did you come to attack me, too?" The man asked, "If you going to do it then make it quick. If it is a refund you want, I have nothing left."

Caesar stared down at the man for a time, her face remained plain and out of compassion, she brought a rux coin from her skirt pocket and placed it on the ground.

Caesar then turned her back to walk away and the man seeing what Caesar had done for him, stared down at the coin for a time in bewilderment.

After staring at it for a while, he picked up the coin and returned his sight back to Caesar.

"Wait!" The man said, causing Caesar to halt.

"What?" Caesar asked as she looked over her shoulder.

"Why... Why did you give this to me?" The man asked.

"You don’t want it?" Caesar asked.

"No-I... This is the first time ever anyone has ever handed anything to me." The man said, "I... Thank you."

"You’re welcome." Caesar replied.

As Caesar resumed walking away again, the man titled his head down before he raised it back up to speak.

"How can I repay you, child?" The man asked, causing Caesar to halt again.

"Huh?" Caesar said as she looked over her shoulder.

"How can I repay you?" The man asked.

"I don’t want any repayment." Caesar answered.

"I am a prophet. I have the gift of sight." The man said, "I can see into people’s future and tell them what awaits them."

"You’re some sort of seer?" Caesar asked.

"Yes. I am." The man replied with a smile.

"Seeing into the future... Doesn’t that sound like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo?" Caesar asked.

"That’s what many believe but it isn’t." The man answered, "I usually tell people their future for payments. I have been doing this since I was your age."

"To be honest... I hate this gift." The man continued as he turned his face away, "I see it more as a curse than blessing.

A lot of times, I don’t see good for people. It’s just bad futures, bad endings."

"The people that attacked me earlier, I lied to them." The man said as Caesar narrowed her eyes, "I saw the cruelty fate had for them, so I felt it would be better for them to live a beautiful lie at that moment than for them to be hit with the ugly truth.

But I was wrong. I let my emotions get in the way."

"Okay, so why are you telling me this?" Caesar asked.

"Like I said, normally, I tell people their future for payments but you... Because of what you just did, I will do it free." The man answered.

"Well, I don’t want-"

"Please." The man pleaded, "Let me do this."

Caesar stared at man for a while before she nodded her head.

The man sat down properly and crossed his legs. He closed his eyes and exhaled.

Tears began to trickle down his face before he opened it to gaze at Caesar with a pained look.

"Child... Your life is filled with pain and suffering, and it will continue to be filled with more." The man said as he brought his head down, "It’s like the whole world will be against you..."

"And the misunderstanding will be as heavy as a millstone." The man continued as Caesar narrowed her eyes, "Yet..."

"In those days to come, you will unintentionally be the subject of attraction." The man continued as he raised his head to gaze at Caesar, "And it will happen when you least expect it.

Pain, violence, blood and darkness.

Your anchors will be damaged and your soul will glide into the void.

I don’t..."

"...Right now, my visions are not fully clear." The man said as he stood on his feet.

"Here... Take this card, child." The man said as he brought out a brown paper from his jacket and extended it towards Caesar.

Caesar stared at the card for a moment and stared at the man.

"Please." The man pleaded softly.

Caesar stared at the card once again before she reluctantly took it.

"I must be going now." The man said, "Call this number. Your future is looking bleak, child. Too bleak."

As soon as the man had left, Caesar gazed at the card and saw that it was written "You got robbed!"

Caesar stared at the card for a moment in confusion before she swiftly checked her skirt and top pockets only find them empty.

Caesar then turned her face to the direction the man left and gritted her teeth in anger while her left eye narrowed as she growled.

Currently within the EBW stadium as Caesar who was in her personal locker room was wearing her wrestling gear, the image Damien’s face played in her head.

Caesar tilted her head down and sighed.

"Get a fucking grip." Caesar said to herself.

Caesar turned to the final item of her gear which was the black choker with the silver Mizukai symbol on it, and stared at the accessory for a moment before she took it and wore on her neck.

"Just to let you know... I will be sitting among the audience to get a clearer view." Akari’s voice played, "After all, what better way is there in watching my beloved doll getting destroyed than the audience seat?"

After the remembrance, Caesar slightly scowled.

"Hope you enjoy the front view, bitch." Caesar said in her mind.

As soon as Caesar stepped out of her locker room, she turned her sight towards the guards and nodded at them, leading to the guards nodding back in response.

Minutes later, Caesar’s name appeared on the entrance screen and theme song started playing in the arena.

Immediately a loud portion of cheers from the crowd echoed but they were overtaken with boos from the larger audience.

Caesar stepped into the stage and glanced at the audience.

Despite the boos being heavy, the portions of people cheering still fought to be heard among them.

Caesar then took a deep breath and started walking towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing first - from the Western continent - Deva Krav- She is the affiliate of the great Mizukais...!!!" The ring announcer said, "THE ONE AND ONLY.... CAESAR.... MOON!!!"

The cheers grew louder but so did the boos, leading their voices to overtake the support of the few people screaming for Caesar.

"Max, correct me if I’m wrong but it seems like there are some people cheering for the rookie!" Reyna said.

"Yeah, there are!" Max replied, "I thought I was hallucinating at first but turns out I wasn’t!"

"I wonder what made some of the people to change their mind!" Reyna said as Caesar stepped into the ring, "She was the most hated ero-wrestler in EBW! She was so hated that fans would rather cheer Nero over her! So what changed?"

"I think it has to do with that video of yesterday!" Max answered.

"Video?" Reyna asked.

"Yeah! The one of her and Damien talking in the cafe!" Max answered again as Caesar leaned against the turnbuckle with a focused expression, "The one a random guy streamed and it went viral!

I think that video made some of the people to soften up to her!"

"Wow." Reyna said.

Suddenly, arena momentarily turned dark before the lightings swiftly became green.

A different theme song quickly played, bringing out a loud cheer from the audience.

"Introducing next!" The ring announcer said as the lightings were repeatedly changing colors, "Making his return... From the western continent - Lanoi...!"

"He is a three time E- Division champion!" The ring announcer continued as a shadowed was stepping forward while the lightings were rapidly changing colors, "A former intercontinental champion and a thirteen time EBW world!!"

"The poisonous son...!" The ring announcer said as the shadow figure softly spread his arms apart, "DAMIEN... BANE!!!!"

The audience massively cheered as the lightings swiftly returned back to normal and it revealed Damien Bane standing on the stage, wearing small black wraps round his hands and wrists, a black trunks with green accents along with a symbol in the middle that had the head of a snake while at the back of his trunks had a bold green writing of his name.

He also wore black knee pads and black boots.

"Max, if you remember in the video, Damien told the rookie he wants a remorseless machine! One who would do anything and everything she can to beat him!" Reyna said as Damien was walking towards the ring.

"He said he doesn’t care if he wins or loses, he just wants to make his return match worth it or there is going to be serious problems between him and her!" Max said, "And we all know that Damien is one of those people you don’t want to have problems with!"

"Yep! You don’t want problems with him at all!" Reyna said, "That guy doesn’t know the meaning of the word ’boundaries’! He’d step into hell just to make you pay for crossing him!"

"The main question is can the rookie meet his demands or she is going to disappoint him?" Reyna continued as Damien stood in front of the ring.

"Is she going to become the predator he wants her to be or is she going remain the prey?" Reyna asked at the time Caesar maintained her focused demeanor while gazing at Damien.

Damien on the other hand, slightly tilted his head and gave a cold venomous smirk.
