Chapter 69: Chapter 68: Ruined
Caesar stayed in her room during the night, laying on her bed and talking to her brothers on the phone with a smile.
"So, that’s what happened in your class?" Caesar asked.
"Yeah. At this point, the principal might just get used to Baku and his antics." Rai answered.
"Mhmm." Caesar said as she nodded her head, "That world guy is really funny."
"He literally has an ai that gives him advice on how to dominate the world in future." Rai said flatly.
"Okay. He keeps getting funnier the more you talk about him." Caesar replied.
"We are coming home to see you, Caesar!" Eyo said.
"Mhmm. Yeah, you’re coming - wait, what?!" Caesar said in shock and confusion.
"Eyo! It was supposed to be a surprise!" Rai said.
"Sorry..." Eyo replied.
"Hold on... You’re coming home?" Caesar asked the boys.
"Yeah, we are." Rai answered, "We are already getting everything ready for the two days midterm break.
Once it is over, we are going back to school."
Hearing Rai’s explanation, Caesar’s ears flattened. Her face softened and she began to stammer as she didn’t know how to process this information.
"R-Rai.. Eyo... I’ll be able to see you again? Hold and talk with you?" Caesar asked.
"Yeah, you will." Rai answered.
"Uhm... What day do you expect to be arriving?" Caesar asked.
"Monday. That’s when they are going to drop us, but if I’m give the time... I’d say nighttime." Rai answered as Caesar’s eyes slowly widened, "Get ready, sis. We’re coming home."
The next day on a Sunday, Caesar was walking on the road, gleaming with happiness while carrying several nylon bags in her arms.
"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! They’re coming!" Caesar said in her mind as her face blushed red, "I got to make sure everything is perfect!"
Caesar took notice of the looks on several people’s faces which had the stares of smile, indifference, happiness and disgust but it didn’t bother her. The happiness she had at the moment was overwhelming.
Caesar took notice of a female human waving her hand at her and Caesar replied with a wave of her own which left the human shocked.
While Caesar was walking down the street, she continued speaking in her mind.
"They’re coming home! They’re coming home! My baby brothers are coming home!
Okay, Caesar, calm down. Just think.
What color of welcome home balloons should I buy? Purple? Red? Eyo loves balloons but Rai is not a fan of them, not since that issue with the monkey.
Get a cake... No, I’ll bake it. Then I need to buy tickets. Yeah, tickets to the Black Sunday and Kid Hit concert.
Then maybe take them out to Queen Biggie for some biggie burgers.
There are so many things I could do, right now. I just need to get them all in place."
Caesar stood in front of an old saleswoman within a small kiosk and saw a comic book among the books placed beside her named Sentry Prime which consisted of a man in white body suit and cape.
The woman took notice of Caesar staring at the book and smiled.
"That is the latest edition. It’s really good." The woman said.
"The Sentry Prime is Rai’s favorite book." Caesar said in her mind, "Though Rai may not seem like it, he’s a huge comic nerd.
If this is the latest edition, then there is no doubt I will have to get it for him!"
"Okay, I will have the Sentry Prime comic book, please." Caesar said to the woman.
The woman’s warm smile grew a bit wider and she spoke.
"Goodness me, did I say ’that’ is the only latest edition?"
The old woman then raised the comic book, placed it one side and took up three other comic books of the Sentry Prime that were underneath the first book.
"These along with the previous comic you saw earlier are all the latest edition." The old woman said, "They released all four of these this month and they can all be yours for just three yons."
"Three yons?" Caesar asked.
"Well many people don’t buy physical comic copies these days. Back then, you could sell a copy for ten yons." The old woman said, "But now, people will scroll past the physical and buy it digital.
So what do you say? All four for three yons?"
"Yes. I’ll take them." Caesar said.
Caesar brought a yon note in threes and gave them to the woman.
As soon as the woman took the notes and handed Caesar the four latest editions, Caesar took them and smiled at the books.
The old woman then gave a slow nod and spoke.
"You know since no one buys physical copies anymore, I was about to dispose of them, but since you are here..."
The woman turned around for a moment and turned back to Caesar.
"How about I give you these fifteen issues of the book... For free?" The old woman asked with a huge smile as she brought out fifteen books of the Sentry Prime.
Caesar’s ears drooped and her mouth hung open in happiness.
"Rai is gonna lose his mind!!!"
"Happy new month." The old woman said with a smile as she closed her eyes.
Later as Caesar was walking on the streets, she was peeking at the nylon bags she was carrying while smiling.
"Okay, I’ve bought a lot of things including Rai’s Sentry Prime and Eyo’s action figures of Lady Mordana." Caesar said in her heart, "Though they will just be staying for two days, but I want to make it the best two days I have spent with them before they go back to school."
Caesar walked into a quiet street alone, humming in a melodic manner until her ears suddenly perched, causing her to turn back.
Caesar saw no one behind her which led her to scowl a little and continue walking.
"Caesar Moon." A faint voice said.
Caesar turned back and saw a fair man skinned man wearing a black hoodie that veild the upper half of his face, a ripped blue jeans and black shoes, walking towards her with both hands in his pockets.
"Can I help you?" Caesar asked with a raised brow.
The man chuckled and grinned.
"Can you help me? Of course, you can." The man answered, "I came to pay you back for what you did last month."
"What... I did last month?" Caesar asked, "I’m so confused."
"Of course, you would be. It wouldn’t register to you." The man replied.
"Uhm... Who are you?" Caesar asked.
"You don’t recognize me?" The man asked as he halted.
"Dude, you got a hoodie covering your face and your voice sounds like dry chalk on a board. So no, I don’t recognize you." Caesar answered.
The man gritted his teeth and removed his hoodie, revealing himself to have a black wavy hair and green irises while carrying an expression of intense hatred.
However, Caesar stared at him with a blank face and spoke.
"Still don’t recognize you."
"Of course... I was so stupid to think you would." The man said, "After all, my entire face had to be restructured including my eyes after you almost beat me to death in Balland and Barnes Bakery."
Hearing those words come out from his mouth, Caesar’s eyes widened in shock.
"Ruz?"
"Surprise, motherfucker." Ruz said with a venomous smile as he slightly tilted his head, "How is life going for you as an ero-wrestler? Looks like you’re quite the topic now, huh."
Caesar stayed silent and Ruz’s bitter smile grew.
"You know... Ever since that incident when I groped your ass and you nearly killed me, Balland fired me." Ruz said, "The doctors didn’t have the tools to bring my face to how it was... Unlike your EBW. So they had to restructure my face to save my life.
It even took a lot of time to even talk again and this is what I ended sounding like."
"But do you know what else I lost aside from my job at the bakery, my face and my voice?" Ruz asked as his left eye narrowed, "I lost my other jobs, and I’m not going to explain how, but just know this is all your fault. All of it!"
"You ruined my life! So tell me, what do you have to say for yourself?!" Ruz continued while Caesar was staring at him with her plain expression.
Caesar stayed silent for a while and exhaled.
"I see. Look, man... What happened back there... That was excessive. Not gonna lie." Caesar said, "I was really in a bad headspace, so I just snapped.
Sorry about that."
Ruz however as he heard what Caesar had to say, his right brow twitched in anger.
"Sorry about that. That’s all?" Ruz asked, "Sorry? Like sorry is gonna fix my life!"
"Hey, what do you want me to do?" Caesar asked, "Plus in as much as I went overboard, lets not act like you’re innocent here.
After all, you did sexually harassed me back there."
"Sexually harass you?" Ruz asked in irritation, "You are an ero-wrestler! A pornstar playing wrestling!
I sexually harassed you? All I did was grab that ass of yours! Compared to the guys who shoves your face between their legs or lick you down there, how is what I did harassment?! Do you hear yourself, right now?!"
"I think you should be asking yourself that question." Caesar replied.
Caesar then turned her back and looked over her shoulder.
"Look, I have somewhere to go; I’m supposed to be in a good mood right now and I don’t wanna ruin it." Caesar said, "Like I said before, sorry about what happened back there."
However right she could leave, a dark skinned male human with a black head warmer and a scarred right eye along with a fair skinned male beastfolk with messy orange hair stood in front of Caesar, obstructing her way.
"Where do you think you’re going?" Ruz’s voice sounded.
Caesar looked over her shoulder and saw Ruz walking towards her with a dangerous glare.
"We’re not finished." Ruz continued as his irises glowed.
