Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 23: The Methods of a Prince

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: The Methods of a Prince

They were esteemed guests of the Li Family, and their status was undeniable.

They hadn’t thought much of this Han Family engagement party to begin with, and now some nobody had popped up out of nowhere and was trying to kick them out?

’What is the meaning of this?’

A man at the table sneered, "Get the person in charge for the Han Family over here!"

The person in charge of the Han Family’s engagement party rushed over, utterly stunned by the scene.

He pointed at Prince and cursed, "Who the fuck are you? How dare you be disrespectful to our guests? What gives you the right?"

Prince glanced impatiently at his watch and gestured to the hotel management team behind him.

The general manager of the Millennium Hotel stepped forward. "I am in charge of the hotel. Please, I must ask for your cooperation!"

The Han Family representative was flabbergasted. "Fuck, does your hotel not want to be in business anymore?"

The hotel manager chuckled dryly. "That’s right. We really don’t want your business anymore!"

This was a goddamn slap in the face.

The Han Family representative trembled with rage. "I’m calling your corporate executives right now! I’m filing a complaint!"

"No need for that!" The hotel manager was brimming with confidence. "If you refuse to cooperate, we will not serve any food and will immediately terminate this event!"

With that, the manager turned and gestured to his deputy. "Halt all work in the kitchen. Clear the tables in the main hall. Tell the Han Family to book another venue!"

He was pulling the rug out from under them!

The Millennium Grand Hotel’s stance was clear: they would rather ruin their own reputation than fail to secure this one table.

The Han Family representative panicked.

If the hotel cleared the tables right now, it would be a complete disaster for the bride’s side of the family. He couldn’t take responsibility for that.

Left with no choice, the representative turned to the Li Family guests and pleaded, "I’ll get you all a better table. Let’s just give this one up, shall we?"

A joke!

The esteemed guests from the Li Family were furious.

Rolling up their sleeves, they all stood up. "What kind of engagement party is this? Huh? How did you people even choose this hotel? Do you know who we, the Li Family, are? Let me tell you something, even if God Almighty himself came here today, we wouldn’t give up this table!"

Someone else chimed in with a sneer, "Is this reasonable? By any standard of logic or decency, this is completely out of line, isn’t it?"

Prince walked over coolly. "Logic and decency? Heh, sorry, but I don’t give a fuck!"

When Prince of the God of Wealth Hall started dropping F-bombs, you knew things had escalated.

"Our boss is Li Changshan! The chairman of Su City’s Changshan Group!" the Li Family representative announced, proudly playing his trump card.

Who in Su City didn’t know of Old Li?

From the Governor down to the common man on the street, anyone in Su City would tremble at the mere mention of his name.

But Prince just laughed. He pulled out his phone, found Li Changshan’s number, and sent a text.

"This is Prince of the God of Wealth Hall. Our Sir is at the Millennium Grand Hotel and wants to have a quiet meal. A few of your Li Family guests are occupying his spot and refuse to leave. You handle it."

Li Changshan, who was in the middle of arranging a reunion for his old army comrades, felt his head buzz.

Prince of the God of Wealth Hall... that was the leader of one of the six great halls under the Night Emperor!

If he was personally involved, it meant those bastards from the Li Family must have stirred up some serious trouble.

’And Sir is there, too?’

Li Changshan couldn’t wait a second longer. After a brief word of explanation to his comrades, he rushed out and yelled to his driver, "To the Millennium Grand Hotel! Fast!"

As he jumped into the car, he furiously dialed the number of the Li Clan’s representative at the party.

Back at the Millennium Hotel, the Li Family’s lead representative at the banquet hurried to the partitioned room, his body shaking and his hands trembling.

"This table! Give it up, now! All of you, clear the table and clean the floor! Now!"

As the Li Family’s lead representative finished speaking, the group inside the partitioned area was stunned into silence.

"Brother, why are we listening to him?" one of the Li Family members asked, unable to swallow his pride. "Have you lost your mind? Who has the Li Family ever been afraid of?"

SLAP!

The lead representative slapped him hard across the face, then put his phone on speaker.

Li Changshan’s furious voice blared from the phone: "I will only say this once: give up the table immediately, clean it up, and then get on your knees and apologize!"

A direct order from Chairman Li himself!

THUD. The Li Family’s lead representative was the first to drop to his knees, apologizing profusely to Prince.

What could the other Li Family members possibly say now? They scrambled to clean the area, helping the staff change the tablecloth and replace all the snacks and drinks with fresh ones.

"Marquis, is this satisfactory?" the Li Family representative asked, wiping sweat from his brow.

Prince said coolly, "It’s fine. Now take your people and get lost. And don’t make a sound. Understand?"

The Li Family members lined up, bowed to Prince, and then scurried away, wiping the sweat from their faces.

The area was now quiet and comfortable, the table and chairs perfectly arranged.

The Han Family’s banquet manager was completely stupefied, having stood there in a daze through the entire ordeal.

When he saw Prince about to leave, he finally snapped out of it and rushed over, bowing obsequiously. "Oh, my! You should have said so earlier! So this table was for Chairman Li! You see, this was all just a big misunderstanding!"

"This has nothing to do with Li Changshan. And you," Prince said, raising a hand to pat the man’s cheek, "you’d best watch what you say when you leave here. This table is for Madam Han Biwei and our Sir."

The Han Family manager stumbled out, completely crestfallen and still unable to process what had just happened.

But he didn’t dare utter another word. With his tail between his legs, he went back to presiding over the engagement party.

Qin Tianxuan walked in carrying Niannian, with Han Biwei following behind. Her eyes widened. "Knowing my second uncle, there’s no way he would have let me sit at this table!"

Qin Tianxuan just smiled and gestured for her to sit down.

Han Biwei shook her head and added, "Niannian is seven now. You can’t always be carrying her. A child needs to learn to be independent."

Qin Tianxuan was reluctant to put her down. Niannian seemed so small and fragile; he held her as delicately as if she were a newborn, afraid to use even a little bit of force.

Han Biwei then remembered the helicopter. "You’re a strange one. Spending all that money to rent a helicopter... don’t do that again. You must have spent every last penny you have, didn’t you?"

The two were chatting like an old married couple when footsteps sounded outside. A large, heavyset man reeking of alcohol stumbled in. "Hey, look! There are empty seats here! Come on, let’s sit here!"

WHOOSH. A whole gang of men smelling strongly of cigarette smoke barged in, making themselves at home and filling up the remaining seats at the table.
