Chapter 191: Chapter 191: It’s Not Like I’m Inferior Either

Such a stark contrast was difficult for Asa Mitaka to accept.

Makima was undeniably beautiful, but Asa did not think she was unattractive either.

For some reason, both Makima’s and Kotone Asaba’s eyes looked strange. However, Makima’s unusual eyes only added to her distinctive beauty.

Yet when faced with the boys’ excessive enthusiasm, Makima responded indifferently, "No, thanks."

With her intelligence, she had no need for notes or anyone else’s help.

"Uh..."

The boys were immediately left speechless. They had not expected Makima to be so cold.

Too embarrassed to continue trying to strike up a conversation with her, they reluctantly backed off.

Hearing Makima reject them so bluntly made Asa feel a little better.

In comparison, the other new student, Kotone Asaba, seemed much more approachable to their classmates.

He was easygoing, and as long as no one brought up a particularly sensitive subject, he answered almost every question they asked.

That only annoyed Asa all over again.

She could not understand why he found it so easy to interact with everyone. It even seemed as though he would make friends almost immediately.

Consumed by jealousy and irritation, Asa stood up and left the classroom, intending to walk around and clear her head.

However, even out in the hallway, Asa could not relax.

There was always something that rubbed her the wrong way.

For example, two or three girls were gathered in the restroom chatting, and she found them incredibly bothersome.

Admittedly, chatting in the restroom and getting in everyone’s way was inconsiderate, but there was no reason for Asa to dwell on it so much.

She could either ask them to move or ignore them completely.

Obsessing over it would only put her in a worse mood.

Unfortunately, Asa had not yet realized that she would be happier if she learned to take life a little less seriously.

When she reached the stairwell, she saw a couple sitting on the steps and flirting affectionately.

Go die!

The sight of a happy couple instantly pushed Asa’s irritation to its limit.

By the time she returned from her walk, not only had she failed to relax, but her mood had become even worse.

"Ugh..."

Asa felt utterly exhausted. She opened her textbook and prepared to study the material for the next class.

However, quite a few classmates were still gathered around Kotone Asaba, talking to him, making it impossible for her to concentrate.

All she could do was force herself to endure it. Once the bell rang, she would finally be free of the noise.

Naturally, Kotone noticed all of Asa’s reactions.

He thought that if the system also displayed notifications whenever Affinity decreased, he could not even imagine how far into the negatives her Affinity might have fallen.

The key problem was that just because he could not see Affinity decreasing did not mean it was not happening.

For example, the more Asa disliked him, the harder it would become to raise her Affinity progress from zero percent to five percent.

To stop that from happening before it was too late, Kotone reminded the classmates around him, "Sorry, the next class is about to start. I’d like to look over the textbook in advance, and if we keep talking like this, we might disturb the other students nearby."

After Kotone pointed it out, none of the students seemed upset. They simply returned to their seats.

When Asa heard what he said, she froze for a moment.

[Asa Mitaka’s Affinity increased by 5%.]

Kotone suddenly saw a notification informing him that Asa’s Affinity had risen.

Huh? Her Affinity increased that quickly?
