Chapter 214: Chapter 214: The Manga Plot (EC)

"Huh...? My eyes are already open, so why do I still look half asleep?"

Yoru waved a hand in front of Asa’s eyes, but Asa did not react.

A moment later, Asa finally snapped out of it. "What time is it?"

"Judging from your memories, you’re about to be late, so you should hurry up and leave," Yoru said calmly.

"It’s already that late?!"

The moment Asa saw the time, she instantly became wide awake.

The clock showed that it was already a little after 7:50, and students were supposed to arrive at school no later than 8:10.

There was still a thirty-minute morning study period starting at 8:10, and the teachers would usually look the other way as long as students arrived during that time.

But late was still late, and Asa certainly did not want to break school rules.

She leaped out of bed, washed up, put on her uniform, and rushed straight out the door as quickly as possible, completing the entire process in one smooth burst.

"Wait."

Just as Asa was about to leave, Yoru stopped her.

"What is it? Hurry up, I don’t have time!" Asa said urgently.

"Don’t you have any bread? Run to school with a slice in your mouth. You might bump into that Asaba classmate of yours."

Asa stared at her in confusion. "Where did you get that ridiculous idea?"

"Wasn’t that what happened in one of your manga? The heroine was about to be late, so she ran out with bread in her mouth and crashed into the male lead, who was also rushing to school. They both ended up late, but it brought them closer together," Yoru said, recalling the scene from the manga.

"You idiot. You actually believed something you saw in a manga."

Asa was speechless.

Very few people actually ran around eating bread like that in real life.

Besides, it was both unhygienic and rude, so Asa would never do it.

"I’m not an idiot!" Yoru protested indignantly.

"Right, right. You’re not an idiot. You’re a moron."

"That’s more like it..."

Only a moment later did Yoru finally realize what Asa had said.

"Wait! That means the exact same thing!"

"I don’t have time to argue with you. I’m seriously going to be late."

Asa nearly failed to put her shoes on properly before hurriedly racing downstairs.

The moment she reached the bottom, she nearly collided head-on with Kotone Asaba, who was standing outside the building.

"Asaba? Why are you still here? We’re about to be late!" Asa exclaimed anxiously.

Yoru followed behind Asa. When she saw Kotone standing there, she could not help saying, "Oh? I think this guy might like you too. This is just like those manga, where the boy waits outside the girl’s home so they can go to school together."

Asa resisted the urge to respond to Yoru.

Fortunately, Asaba probably could not hear anything Yoru said. Otherwise, Asa would have died of embarrassment.

It was one thing to privately entertain the thought, but who would be shameless enough to say something aloud when it might only be wishful thinking?

"I was waiting for you. But there’s no need to panic. I’ll take you directly there," Kotone said calmly, seemingly unconcerned about being late.

"Take me there?"

Asa did not understand what he intended to do. Could there be a shortcut even faster than the route she already knew?
