Chapter 224: Chapter 224: A Shocking Appetite
Kotone Asaba had already noticed that the waitress was looking at them strangely.
Fami, however, did not care in the slightest.
Since Fami herself was unconcerned, Kotone figured there was no reason for him to think too much about it either.
The two of them then sat down at a secluded table where no one else was nearby.
The moment Fami picked up the menu, she began ordering.
"Honey toast, seasonal fruit platter, vanilla ice cream... Five of everything I just ordered."
Fami barely spared a single dessert on the menu, and she even ordered five servings of each one.
"Huh...?"
The waitress was momentarily unable to process what she had heard. President Fami had not only ordered that many different dishes, she wanted five servings of every single one?!
There were only two of them. Could they possibly eat that much?
"Just prepare everything she ordered. If we somehow can’t finish it, we’ll take the leftovers with us," Kotone said when he noticed the waitress hesitating.

"All right."
The waitress nodded, then carried the marked menu toward the kitchen.
Once she had left and there was no one else around them, Kotone finally remarked, "I suppose that’s exactly what I should expect from the Famine Devil. Your appetite really is ridiculous."
"You’re paying, so of course I’m going to eat until I’m full," Fami replied as though it were perfectly reasonable.
"There’s no need to hold back with me. You can eat as much as you want, Fami."
"Call me Fami," she said. "And if I don’t need to hold back, then I’ll order five more servings of everything later."
Apparently, she had actually been restraining herself somewhat when she ordered only five servings. Now she immediately intended to add another five.
"Sure, I’m paying for everything. So can we start discussing the actual reason I came here?"

Both increases in Affinity had come primarily because of food.
That really was the Famine Devil for you.
Fami did not waste any time.
"Go ahead. What do you want to talk about?"
"The near future, the Great Prophecy of Nostradamus. July 1999, the King of Terror descends upon the world. Nostradamus’s prophecies contain a prediction along those lines, foretelling humanity’s extinction. As a Devil, how much do you know about it?" Kotone asked directly.
"All you need to know is that you cannot prevent the Prophecy of Nostradamus from coming true. I, however, have my own way of dealing with it," Fami replied.
"You sound awfully certain."
Kotone continued calmly, "And let me guess. This ’way’ of yours involves controlling the War Devil, doesn’t it?"
There was no longer any need to hide what he knew.
If he could make Fami wary of him and prevent her from underestimating him, their conversation would proceed much more smoothly.
Fami fell silent for a moment, and the look in her eyes subtly changed.
"You know quite a lot, Chainsaw Man... No, that isn’t quite right. Technically, I suppose you could be considered half a Chainsaw Man."
Fami had clearly realized that Kotone was not the real Chainsaw Man.
However, she had also failed to recognize him as completely fake, which was why she described him as half a Chainsaw Man.
"I more or less know what you intend to do to Asa Mitaka and the War Devil, so I will definitely stop you," Kotone said, making his position clear. "But when it comes to preventing the Prophecy of Nostradamus from coming true, you and I have the same objective. We simply intend to accomplish it in different ways."
