"No, you can’t."
Fami spoke without the slightest expression on her face. "And it isn’t just you. Neither I nor the Control Devil could do it alone."
Meanwhile, the desserts Fami had ordered began arriving one after another.
While the servers brought out the food, Kotone Asaba and Fami tacitly remained silent.
Only after dozens of desserts had been served did Kotone speak again.
"You’re that certain I can’t do it? I’ll admit that even I can’t guarantee I’ll succeed, but at the very least, stopping you won’t be a problem."
Of course, he only dared say that because he was completely confident.
For example, he could directly cast a Mangekyo Sharingan genjutsu on Fami, which should probably work. Even if it did not, he could simply overwhelm her with brute force.

The corner of Kotone’s mouth twitched slightly.
"Of course not. Once you agreed to treat me, they became mine. I have the right to decide who they belong to."
Fami spoke as though her logic were completely indisputable.
"Fine. You win."
Kotone sighed in admiration, but he had no intention of fighting Fami over the food.
Instead, he called over a server and ordered several desserts for himself.
Before long, Kotone’s desserts were also brought to the table.
At the same time, however, the empty plates beside Fami had already piled up into something resembling a small mountain.
Fami not only had an astonishing appetite, she also devoured food at an incredible pace. Yet somehow, her movements never came across as crude. It could only be described as an unusually elegant form of wolfing down food.
Kotone had barely started eating when Fami was already almost finished.
By the time he had eaten only two small pieces of cake, Fami was done.
Then Kotone suddenly noticed that Fami had been staring at him for quite some time.
Even after a while, she continued staring.
Unable to ignore it any longer, Kotone looked up at her and finally realized that she was not actually staring at him.
She had been staring at the desserts in his hands the entire time.
"Don’t tell me... you’re still not full?"
Kotone asked in genuine surprise.
Wasn’t her appetite a little too ridiculous?
Fami honestly nodded.
"I’m still a little hungry."
Kotone was completely speechless.
He was starting to wonder whether the Famine Devil was literally incapable of ever feeling full.
Seeing the faintly hungry, almost ravenous look in Fami’s eyes, Kotone pushed all the remaining desserts on his side of the table toward her.
"You can have the rest."
Fami’s eyes immediately brightened slightly.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Kotone immediately continued, "As long as you’re willing to cooperate with me, I’ll pay for however much you want to eat from now on."
Fami remained silent for only a moment before answering.
"I’d obviously be delighted if you’re paying, but whether I cooperate depends on exactly what kind of cooperation you’re proposing."
Kotone immediately explained, "The terms are simple. I’ll help you prevent the Prophecy of Nostradamus from coming true, and from now on I’ll cover all of your food expenses. In exchange, you stop whatever plans you have for Asa Mitaka and the War Devil, and you don’t harm any other humans."
