Chapter 232: Chapter 232: The Time Devil (EC)
Just as Kotone Asaba had suspected, Yoru had a general idea of what Fami was plotting.
It was just that Yoru was currently far too weakened to stand against Fami, leaving her with little ability to do anything about it.
"As long as you know, I don’t need to explain much more."
Kotone said.
While Yoru was talking with Kotone, Asa was naturally listening from inside as well.
She immediately breathed a sigh of relief and felt much more at ease. So it wasn’t what she had imagined after all.
She had almost thought Asaba and Fami had already taken their relationship that far.
Even though Fami herself was standing right beside them, she barely reacted at all despite hearing Kotone and Yoru openly discussing her.
"By the way, aren’t you going to say anything about what I said earlier?"
Yoru suddenly asked.
"About what...?"
Kotone didn’t immediately realize what she meant.
"I just said you’re my man. Don’t you have anything to say about that?"
Yoru asked without the slightest trace of embarrassment on her face.
Asa, on the other hand, instantly turned bright red.
"Oh, that..."
Kotone naturally had nothing to say about it.
After all, he knew perfectly well that Yoru had only said something like that because she wanted to make him hers. Once she owned him, she could control him, or more precisely, turn him into a weapon.
That was why Kotone hadn’t taken Yoru’s declaration seriously at all.
"What am I supposed to say? It’s not like I can’t see what you’re scheming."
Kotone spoke calmly. "I’d advise you to give up. You’re not going to succeed."
"We’ll see about that."
Yoru replied.

Afterward, the three of them returned to school.
Suddenly, Fami said something completely unexpected.
"It seems someone has summoned the Time Devil..."
"The Time Devil? What do you mean?"
Kotone immediately looked puzzled.
"The Time Devil can rewrite time. If a sufficient price is paid, it can even..."
Fami’s expression became slightly grave.
Hearing that much, Kotone immediately understood what she was getting at.
If what Fami said was true, then the Time Devil could potentially even alter the timing of the Prophecy of Nostradamus and cause the King of Terror to descend ahead of schedule.
"Do you know who summoned the Time Devil?"
Kotone immediately asked.
"I remember there being followers of the King of Terror somewhere in Western Europe. I can’t be completely certain, but they’re most likely responsible."
Fami answered.
"Western Europe... That narrows it down almost none at all."
Kotone sighed helplessly.
Western Europe was far too large. There was no way for him to pinpoint exactly where those followers were hiding.
"Come to think of it, I really don’t understand why humans would worship Devils."
Fami commented.
Kotone could only give an awkward little smile. "What can I say? It takes all kinds."
Those so-called followers had managed to leave even Fami, the Famine Devil herself, at a loss for words.
Kotone couldn’t understand their way of thinking either. Were they actually desperate to see human civilization destroyed? Or had they all simply been brainwashed into idiots?
"So what do we do now? Doesn’t that mean this King of Terror could arrive early?"
Kotone asked.
"I don’t know. Weren’t you the one who said I could leave all of this to you?"
Fami replied calmly.
"Fair enough..."
Kotone couldn’t deny it.
For now, all he could do was take things as they came and deal with whatever happened.
