Chapter 392: Chapter 390:Marked!
The Divine Realm.
Beautiful.
Those would be the words that came to mind the moment one set their gaze upon the otherworldly realm.
With white-gold clouds drifting peacefully through a golden sky, literal mansions of gold and precious materials being the norm. The streets of which were made from a precious ore only found on this plane of existence.
Truly, there was no wonder as to why most mortals would foolishly believe that worshipping the inhabitants of this realm would bring them to Paradise.
It will not. The Divine Realm, despite its grandeur, was merely another realm of existence. Another world on a higher plane in the cosmos.
There was no amount of worship, no amount of devotion to a goddess or any other entity here that would guarantee one entrance.
If the inhabitants here didn’t wish for you to gaze upon the land, you would not.
Just like any other cosmic faction, the Celestials were governors of various sectors of the universe and cosmos as a whole. With different celestial races governing different universes and galaxies.
The PrimeUniverse, one of the oldest and most mysterious of universes out there, was home to multiple cosmic factions, each vying for a piece of this massive pie.
The Ataraxia faction of the celestial race had, by some strong-arm and covetous methods, gotten jurisdiction over the PrimeUniverse, with the goddess Ataraxia watching over things.
She had divided the universe into various galactic sectors and solar systems, placing each galactic sector under one of her so-called Archangels, who in turn placed the solar systems under their various Virtues, with each Seraph allowed free reign of their systems so long as they pay their dues...
...
...
Domain of the Chaste.
The Domain of the Chaste was one belonging to the Seraph, UrielChaste, the Virtue of Chastity, under the rule of the warmonger Michael...
She had been tasked with watching over the Terranova solar sector. But today, her peace was about to be disturbed.
.....
Within a massive golden mansion, at the center of a training-room-like building, a woman could be seen sitting down in a cross-legged position, her breathing steady.
A thick stream of milky-gold divine essence flowed freely around her. Her serene face was one of such beauty that words would do it injustice, for it was truly the embodiment of the word Divine. Yet her body... with the way her massive breasts strained against the white dress she had on, her wide hips being visible even from her seated posture, it would be wrong to call it anything but sinful.
With the face of a divine and a body that would make Buddha reconsider his life choices, this was none other than the Virtue of Chastity, Uriel Chaste, the one woman said to rival Ataraxia in terms of beauty.
Her calm breathing was suddenly disturbed when all of a sudden....
RUUUUUUUMMMBBLEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Her domain shook.
Her eyes slowly opened up, with golden pupils in the shape of justice scales that flashed brilliantly before settling down.
"My lady." A Seraph appeared before her in a kneeling position.
"Speak." Uriel’s voice, like everything else about her, was beautiful, but there was a note of utter detachment in her tone, almost as if that of one that has forgone all worldly desires.
"There seems to be a problem with the gates." The Seraph’s words made Uriel’s brows crease.
"A problem with the gates? Impossible. What could possibly..."
RUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMBBBBBBLLEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Her entire mansion shook as another violent quake struck her domain.
Her expression finally turned serious as she asked, "Where?"
"From the city of Vanguard. Sir Kaelel seems to be having some sort of problem." The Seraph replied quickly.
"I see." Uriel nodded. Standing up slowly, her beautiful six pairs of wings spread behind her as a golden light engulfed her figure, and then...
Gone.
...
Vanguard City.
Once a place of beauty and admiration, it had now turned into a scene of the apocalypse itself.
RUUUUUUMMMMMBLEEEEE!!!!
A horrifying quake struck the city as the buildings crumbled, the earth cracking as violent fissures ran through them..
"Run!!! It’s the goddess!! Her wrath has befallen us!!!"
"Flee!! Escape!! The Archangels have come to deliver judgment..."
"It’s the end!! The end!!!"
It was utter chaos and pandemonium as the inhabitants of the city fled in disarray.
ZING!
Uriel’s figure appeared just in time to catch the sight of people tearing down one another in an attempt to escape.
Her expression remained utterly indifferent as her gaze locked onto a man whose face had gone grim, with eyes locked onto the very sky.
He hadn’t bothered with his citizens. He hadn’t bothered with trying to save his city. His entire focus, as he stood there in his pure golden armor, shield and sword in hand, was locked onto the very skies.
Uriel followed his gaze. Then she saw it.
A cloud of utter darkness had covered the entire sky over the city. The shockwaves and quakes she had felt all the way from her own domain had been coming from there.
RRRRUUUUMMMMMMBLLLEEEEEE!!!!
Another terrible quake struck the ground as the sky groaned, almost as if fighting against something it could no longer hold back.
Uriel’s expression finally changed, yet before she could say another word—
RIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!
The sky groaned as a massive tear was torn open within it.
A crimson wave of energy washed over the entire Vanguard City and beyond.
The divine essence in the air immediately began acting out of order as chaos and corruption spread like a plague.
"This... Entropy? Is this... the Abyss?" Uriel’s eyes shrank in astonishment as she felt the wave of madness washing over her, trying to corrupt her energy flow.
She snapped out of her shock. She couldn’t understand how it was possible.
"Which of those old monsters did someone offend?" Her voice was muted, almost as if she feared the being behind the tear in the sky hearing her words.
"No! This is not the time to be stunned. I need to act before things get worse." Her eyes found the stunned figure of Kaelel, whose eyes had widened in pure horror. But before she could make a move...
"HAHAHAHAHAHA... Time to collect my prize!!" Boisterous laughter tore through the skies as a massive arm plunged downward.
SWIIIIIIIII!!!!
The atmosphere screamed as the arm’s descent tore through the Divine Realm’s space, its target... Kaelel!
"No!" Uriel finally snapped out of her shock as she moved.
Her hands rapidly moved as she wove different hand signs.
"Chains of Penance!"
CRAAANKKKKK!!!
From all over the place, multiple massive golden chains spawned, shooting straight for the descending arm as they wrapped around it tightly, successfully halting its descent.
"Senior! Please wait! I do not know how my subordinate has offended you, but I believe we can...."
SWOOOOOSHHHHHH!!!!
She had barely completed her words when another massive fist tore through the tear in the skies, appearing before her as her eyes shrank in disbelief...
BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
The entire place quaked and trembled as the fist connected. Luckily, a golden light had engulfed Uriel’s figure, saving her from all harm...
"Abyss Walker!!!!" She snapped.
To think a filthy Abyss Walker would dare disregard her after daring to barge into the Divine Realm? Did he no longer place her celestial race in his eyes?
Her eyes shone brightly as she wove more hand signs.
A Virtue, when in their domain of authority, is all but omnipotent. So Uriel truly had no reason to fear. She had the home-field advantage. Reinforcements were sure to be arriving soon, this insult wasn’t going to be tolerated...
"PENANCE—SIGILS OF FINALITY!!"
Her hands clapped together as a golden light bathed the entire place. The Domain of the Chaste trembled violently as Uriel utilized the domain’s power to cast her signature attack.
The Sigils of Finality, said to bring to an end whatever she deemed so.
Massive golden runic sigils formed swiftly, a horrifying aura leaking out of them, one that made the world around them crack and churn...
"GO!" With a wave of her hand, the sigils shot toward the two arms that had descended through the crack.
BOOOM!!! BOOOM!!!! BOOOOMMMM!!!!
Multiple concentric shockwaves of energy blasted outward as the sigils connected with their target.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Interesting! Very interesting!" The voice from behind the crack laughed, amusement clear in its tone.
"Little pigeon! You intrigue me, but sadly, I cannot play with you for now. So, as my parting gift, I’ll leave you this..."
WOOOSH!!!
With a careless wave, the sigils were instantly blasted apart.
"What?" Uriel’s eyes shrank in disbelief. Her own attack, backed by her domain, was so casually shrugged off?
Uncaring for the stunned Celestial, the first arm that had been wrapped by chains snapped them off, wrapping its massive fingers around the already paralyzed form of Kaelel, whilst in the grip of the other hand...
Roooooarrrrrr!!!!
A beautiful golden halberd had appeared.
"Little pigeon, take this parting gift from me, and oh, try not to die..."
"ABSOLUTE SERIES..."
Uriel hadn’t even heard anything else when a feeling of overwhelming danger erupted from the base of her spine. Her hand flew to her bosom as she activated an emergency grid for the entire domain, but...
"HEAVEN REND!"
The halberd in the grip of the ascending arm suddenly enlarged to impossible proportions before swinging down.
The last thing Uriel saw was a blinding flash of gold before everything went dark.
CRRRRRAAAAAACCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!
On that day, the Divine Realm was marked, and marked so thoroughly that a bounty would later be placed on the head of the Abyss Walker that had dared such a blasphemous act, but alas....
