Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 402 - 400:The Fall Of The Ancients(05)Chapter 402: Chapter 400:The Fall Of The Ancients(05)
A/N: Foo.. what can I say? 400 Chapters. I am honestly speechless. If one were to tell me 4 months ago that I’d still be writing this story and pushing harder, I would’ve laughed. Who would read my story? Who would bother with my cliches? But you guys did. And your words of encouragement and support have made it possible to push through. Everytime you told me you liked my book. Every time you asked for more Chapters. I become delighted. At least, there are those reading. And now, we’re at 400 Chapters, almost half way there. I am honestly lost for words. But, do know that I am forever grateful. I will remain grateful regardless of whatever the future holds. I hope we truly see this journey with this book through, because we’ve come too far to stop now.
Let me not take up word counts. Just know that I appreciate your support and love.
From the bottom of my heart...
THANK YOU!

The moment Dante’s words echoed over the entire battlefield, there was a shift.
Not loud. Not yet.
No explosions. No energy shockwaves.
Just a creeping dread slowly falling over the entire region, and then...
"What... what’s happening?" A coalition member fighting Malachi began panicking.
"What... what is this??" Another one engaging the mischievous Salazar cried out.
One by one, multiple panicked cries began filling up the battlefield.
The reason? A pitch-black miasma devoid of any aspect of light had begun covering the whole region.
Those of the coalition, it didn’t matter if you were alive, a corpse, in your law zone, in your law form, the miasma was covering everything. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING...
ROOOOOOARRRRRR!!!!!
A thunderous roar broke through the sky as the massive dragon fighting Tian began struggling midair.
"RELEASE ME!!!" A formidable aura exploded out of him as he tried to blow away the miasma that had begun covering his entire body.
No results. The darkness spread and spread until eventually, it covered the entire creature.
ROOOAR—
His roar was instantly cut short as he was devoured in his entirety, yet that wasn’t all.
The moment the dragon was devoured,
"Huh? Was I doing something just now?" Tian became confused. "Oh, right, I was about to join up with Valen." He had completely forgotten about the dragon.
Not just him. The miasma continued spreading, and whoever it devoured, be they a corpse or a living being, the one engaging them and even their own allies seemed to forget about them.
"RUN! RUN AWAY!!!" Nobody knew who gave the shout, but they weren’t waiting around to find out.
The place fell into pandemonium, the coalition fell apart. The runts immediately turned tail to flee, but...
"Stay."
When the Son wanted you present, being absent stopped being an option.
The fleeing parties immediately stood frozen on the spot as dread took over them.
Finally, Dante moved. He didn’t fold space. He didn’t teleport. He didn’t apply spatial displacement. No. He moved. Deliberately. Slowly.
Wherever he passed, all life ceased to exist within that area, and with that, all memory of what had existed there.
He passed by the vampires engaging Dakota, and the moment he did, the black miasma engulfed them, snuffing them out. Dakota blinked a few times, almost as if trying to rearrange her memories, but by the time she was done, Dante had already passed by.
He ignored everything and everyone, even the numerous notifications bombarding his view.

They came like a flood, covering his entire view, yet he seemed incapable of even seeing them.
His gaze was locked onto one place and one place only.
He finally crossed paths with a stationary Valen. The man had stopped fighting the moment he heard Dante’s voice.
Not even bothering to acknowledge the man, or rather, being incapable of acknowledging him, Dante continued moving, the miasma leaving a lifeless, memoryless wasteland behind him.
Finally, he stopped.
His cold, dead, lifeless eyes locked onto the man before him.
Damien stood transfixed.
He had dreamt of this day.
Imagined it so many times.
How he would make the boy suffer. How he would show them that he was superior to Regulus and everything Regulus could ever do.
With the help of the outworld young master A’kenai, he was assured. He had done it before, now wasn’t going to be any different.
After all, no matter how monstrous the boy was, he wouldn’t be that much worse than a prime Regulus, right?
WRONG!
Oh so very, very wrong.
He had been frozen from the very start of the battle, if one could even call it that.
The moment he had heard that cold and emotionless voice, the moment those twin golden suns opened up in the darkened skies, Damien had been the very first to understand that they had already lost.
The coward hadn’t even made a single move all this while, his body refusing to even dare think of going against the being before him.
And when he finally looked into those eyes, eyes that seemed to be portals to oblivion itself, he finally collapsed. No spectacle. No final charges.
His heart and being just... gave up.
For what he saw in those eyes, he refused to be alive and witness.
"Devour..."
The black miasma covered the man completely as Dante finally passed him by, not even acknowledging the fact that his mere presence had made the patriarch of an ancient family collapse dead.
His steps didn’t falter, he was close. He could see her now. She was still smiling, still waiting. But then...
"To think one little child could cause so much trouble." A prideful and indifferent voice echoed through the entire region as three figures appeared within the still-stormy skies.
They were tall, imposing, and very powerful.
Their mere presence shook the atmosphere around them. But most importantly was the sickening amount of demonic energy bleeding out of them.
Dante, feeling the putrid energy emanating from the three, slowly raised his head, his lifeless gaze locking onto the three that had appeared overhead.
Lucifer Vaelthar.
Azroth Draugrath.
Belphegor Mamryx.
The demon kings of the Hubris, Wratharis, and Gold empires looked down with grim expressions on their faces.
"He’s dangerous," Azroth, the demon king of wrath, voiced out.
"Yes, he is." Lucifer nodded. "But we have no choice, the lords have ordered we bring in the anomaly."
"We’re going to die, you bastards!" Belphegor was already shaken the moment he laid eyes on Dante. "THAT is not something you fight. THAT is something you run as far away as you can from and hope IT doesn’t come for you." The gold-skinned demon was shivering.
"I always knew you were cowardly, but I never knew it was this bad. You’re a vessel for the great lord of greed, yet you dare be like this?" Lucifer looked toward Belphegor in disdain.
"Fuck your demon lords!" Belphegor roared, uncaring for the ugly expressions on the faces of Lucifer and Azroth.
"Fuck being their vessels. I came to this place because I was promised a peak existence, that few would be my equal."
"THAT THING!!!" He pointed at Dante’s silent figure. "Is NOT my equal. It is something I wish to run away from and pray doesn’t find me." The gold-skinned demon was outright trembling like a leaf. He seemed to be the only one to have recognized the threat before them, as he didn’t even dare look at Dante too much.
A demon, scared to the point of wanting to pray...
"If you bastards wish to go get yourself killed, then by all means, do so, but leave me out of it. Those poser demon lords can come fight this thing by themselves. As for this king? I’m out!" Belphegor turned, ready to make his exit, when...
SCHLICK!
"BLERGHHH...." He puked blood as an arm pierced cleanly through his chest.
"Lu.. Luci.. Blergh..."
"You will fulfill your purpose, willingly or not." Lucifer’s emotionless voice echoed through the ears of the dying Belphegor.
"We have wasted enough time, Lucifer. The lords are waiting." Azroth appeared beside Lucifer, eyes hard as they locked onto Dante, who had still not bothered to make a move all this while.
"Let us get this over with." Lucifer’s eyes flashed as both he and Azroth opened their mouths, with Lucifer manipulating Belphegor against his will, and then...
"Oh lords of the demon realms, your humble servants offer willingly their waiting vessels. Let thy descent onto this mortal plane mark the end of this folly..."
A beat of silence passed, before...
"DEMONIC DESCENT!!!"
Their voices echoed over each other as they roiled through the region.
A heavy silence fell upon the place as the world held its breath.
The atmosphere drew tight, and just when everyone had believed the ritual a dud, they heard it, it wasn’t loud, yet in the quiet, it might as well have been thunder.
CRACK!
A split in the earth, and then...
FWOOOSH!!!
Crimson! A torrent of demonic energy bursting out of the earth itself as three different presences descended upon Terra.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Finally!!! Freedom!!!!"
