Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 401 - 399:The Fall Of The Ancients(04)

Chapter 401: Chapter 399:The Fall Of The Ancients(04)

There were no explosions. There were no mountain-tumbling quakes.

The world simply flashed a blinding white glow and then... nothing.

That part of the battlefield was simply gone.

In its place, a massive patch of white had latched onto the world, refusing to heal.

"Haa... Haa... Haa." Elizabeth’s breath came in hot and haggard as she surveyed the damage.

None. Not one of the church members had made it out. Even the pope had been erased completely with that part of the world.

Raising her head in exhaustion, her eyes met those twin golden suns that were still looking. Still watching.

"Hehehe... Haa.. how’d I do?" she asked, an exhausted smile on her face.

There was a moment of silence before she heard it...

"Beautiful."

A smile spread on her face as she straightened.

"Alright then. Let’s clear out the rest and get Mel before you torch the world," she muttered under her breath before disappearing from the spot.

The battles escalated from there. The coalition was losing numbers fast.

The smell of blood had saturated the air so thickly that Dakota and the vampires were the only ones having a field day.

Their battle was less a battle and more a bloodbath. Limbs and guts were sent flying, only to be instantly regenerated or reattached. The battlefield catered to them perfectly.

Corpses had piled up into literal mountains.

Everywhere one looked, there was carnage, with others like Clarissa and Raven having taken their battles to places far removed from the region, yet the consequences were still clearly felt as explosions resounded nonstop.

It felt like the world was trembling from the release of so many powers at once.

The others that had come with Raven, Tian, Dakota, and Clarissa hadn’t been idle.

Khalifa had jumped headfirst into the fray with her massive sword.

The beautiful, caring, and heartwarming woman that had been fighting to save Dante from himself was nowhere to be seen. In her place, a berserker of white. Wherever her massive blade crossed, lives were severed, yet not a single drop of blood was spilled, her blade leaving beautiful traces of ice in the air as she reaped lives like the disciple of Grim himself.

Kaila was even more diabolical. An entire section of the battlefield had been engulfed in a suffocating darkness. Not the same kind that Dante had plunged the region into. This darkness was a complete absence of light, of life, of everything. The people trapped within, it didn’t matter if they were humans, dragons, elves, whatever, they were all slowly being corrupted, with none able to do anything about it.

Over at Cara’s side of the field, there was nothing but black nether ice. Multiple figures had already been impaled so thoroughly that all spark of life had been frozen from them, her onslaught never once slowing down.

ROOOOOOARRRRRR!!!!!

A massive roar shook the battlefield as the gigantic figure of a furred kaiju-like creature appeared on the scene. Its fur stood on end, its eyes shone a violent crimson.

"HERE COMES PAKU!!!!!"

Paku’s loud voice echoed through the chaotic battlefield as he struck out with a claw...

CRAAAAACKKKKK!!!!!!

That one attack carved a deep trench into the earth as he weeded out the numbers of the coalition substantially.

Nobody was slacking off. They were all hurrying. They were all trying to get to her, to that one building that had remained untouched in all this carnage, that one place where the calamity above them had his entire attention locked.

Nobody, not even his own allies, wanted to see him descend, for they knew the world wouldn’t be able to handle it.

Unfortunately...

"ENOUGH!!!!"

Alaric, the current vampire king, roared in outrage.

"Enough of this!!!"

His eyes shone crimson as he opened his mouth and then,

"ZONE..."

In such a short span of time, they were already losing ground despite their superior numbers. Of the corpses painting the landscape, none had been from Dante’s side.

Because despite all the explosions going on around, the battle itself had barely lasted...

"Two minutes!"

"Two bloody minutes!"

In just two minutes, they had lost such a significant number of lives.

He was done. It was time to show them what a true advantage was...

"...Blood King’s Banquet!"

ZIIING!!!!

A baleful crimson aura burst out of Alaric as the already bloody atmosphere deepened further.

Blurb! Blurb! Blurb!

The sickening sounds of bubbling blood filled the entire place as the earth, his own people, and even the air itself began liquidating.

A horrible stench of blood filled the air.

Alaric’s aura exploded outward as Dakota was firmly suppressed within the zone.

"Damn it!" Dakota cursed. That was it, the advantage they had been trying to avoid.

Because despite their overwhelming prowess, within a law zone, even they would have difficulty.

Yet it wasn’t over, since Alaric wasn’t the only one done with playing around...

"ZONE!"

The massive dragon fighting Tian suddenly roared out,

"ECHOES OF THE ANCIENTS!"

His roar exploded outward as raw draconic energy bled into the region, and then...

ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!

The roars of multiple dragons filled the region. These weren’t roars similar to anything the people had heard before.

They sounded aged. Timeless. Like they were coming from a time long forgotten.

"ZONE!"

The coalition members struggling against Valen, their numbers having been cut down from their advantageous thirteen to a measly five in only two minutes, each one of Valen’s blade attacks having claimed an unfortunate soul, finally roared out in tandem, activating their own domains, forcefully suppressing the rampaging berserker, who finally slowed down, albeit barely.

Slowly, the tides began shifting as the coalition army started unleashing their true trumps.

Those with law zones used them. Those with perfected law forms used them. And those with both, the truly terrifying ones, used them as well.

They were going all out.

Finally, the tides seemed to have changed. Dante’s friends were slowly losing ground, sustaining injuries. Nothing was fatal yet, but it was enough.

He had been willing to let them try to get Mel. But now, seeing as the coalition was still foolish enough to try and stop him so adamantly, he was done. He was done waiting. Because...

"FINE...." His voice rumbled like a storm entangled.

The entire battlefield froze at the sound of his voice.

The coalition’s morale, having just risen after their newly gained advantage, immediately plummeted once more, and it only got worse from then on as...

"FALL..."

Dante finally gave the dreaded command.

Faces turned sheet-white immediately as they looked up in dread.

The sky had been blotted out by massive lightning dragons. And it was those same dragons that Dante had unleashed on the world.

ROOOOOOOARRRRRRR!!!!

Literal thunderous roars shook the skies as the dragons made their descent.

They were so fast they hadn’t moved. They just happened.

Because the moment the order echoed out....

CRAACK!! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The apocalypse descended.

The world lit up like a disco ball as dark-golden lightning fell like rain.

The earth was forcefully terraformed as massive fissures spread through the entire central continent.

Buildings collapsed. Mountains were erased. Canyons were expanded into bottomless chasms.

It wasn’t merely the region that suffered his wrath, it was the entirety of the central continent and beyond.

Yet even then, one building stood untouched.

Melissa could still be seen from the window of her supposed prison. A warm smile was still on her face. She didn’t look fazed, not by the damage outside, not by the devastation Dante had brought upon the continent. All she cared about was the fact that her man had arrived, and all would finally be alright.

A suffocating silence had fallen upon the battlefield after Dante’s "indiscriminate" attack.

No one could speak. Or better yet, those who could didn’t dare to.

This was supposed to be the power of a man suppressed by the rules of Terra?

"What have we done?"

The thought crossed unbidden through the minds of all the surviving coalition members as regret finally set in.

Regret at daring to stand against this monster.

Regret for thinking their numbers were ever of any advantage.

Regret... for being born in the same era as this creature.

WOOSH!

Dante’s figure appeared in the sky. His upper body was bare, marred grotesquely by the subtle cracks that had begun running across his body.

His usually golden pupils had become two shades, with half being pure gold, the other an unfathomable black.

A black, miasma-like aura kept leaking out of his cracked skin.

One felt extremely familiar, it was the essence of devour he always used.

The other one... that was foreign.

Yet none of this mattered to the man himself.

In fact, one would be led to think that he wasn’t even conscious of himself at the moment as he had yet to speak since appearing, with his horrifying eyes locked onto the battlefield in pure indifference.

The world held its breath as even Dante’s allies had no idea what or who they were looking at right now.

But then, they heard it, words so cold, so final, they felt... Absolute.

"I’ll do it myself."

The world stopped for a brief moment before...

"Devour..."
